When they talk about the thing “from the other house” that’s because they are already in the new house. This isn’t the big house we first saw them in. They moved right before the scene with the little kid jumping out of the cupboard
That is one of the things I love about this movie! The characters are actually smart enough to leave and it doesn't matter.
Fun Fact: The man playing the red-faced demon is Joseph Bishara who is also the music composer for this film, all the other Insidious films, The Conjuring films and many more.
I get the feeling he enjoyed it. The music composer doesn't play the big bad unless he wants to...or due to severe budget cuts.
This has easily been my favorite rant of J's. Had me in tears.
The rant in the middle of the video was one of the funniest things I've ever seen!
After watching this in theaters, I legit felt creeped out and was looking at all dark corners. Only J can make me laugh til my stomach hurts with his horror reactions. I'll never watch this movie again without hearing "chilly willy" in my mind 😂

Worst. Father. Ever. Terrible husband, ain't shit #1 on my list. Doesn't listen to his wife, tells her she's trippin, and just LEAVES HIS FAMILY in a demon house because he's too scared to stay there himself, then SEES FOR HIMSELF, on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS that it's all real, and still refuses to move out of the house until his wife has a damn breakdown, continues to deny what's happening in the new house and tells everyone the investigators are fake and his wife and Mom are crazy again, reluctantly goes after his son, only to LEAVE HIM to find his own body, just because he wanted to yell at his own demon. I cannot stand this man.
One of my co workers grew up in a house in Portland that was haunted by two children, and an old man. She used to hear running around her room at night, and the ghosts would jump onto her bed to wake her up. This movie nailed how people describe children ghosts

They made him be the unsupportive, skeptical dad trope that you didn't think was going to be able to do anything to help until we find out he can astral project. Him going into The Further is supposed to be his redemption, but then he leaves Dalton alone to confront the old woman?? Wtf?! I'm not even a parent and I know 100% of people watching including myself would not let go of their kid for a second on the way out of there. I'll never understand how that was more important than making sure Dalton was safe.
Btw, I first saw this movie in theaters as a non-horror fan when I was a senior in high school. I cried and hid behind my jacket the whole time so I basically paid no attention to the plot 🙃I HATED when Josh looked at the old timey family and they smiled in that stop-motion way. Literally burst into tears ☠

When I die from laughter because of Jay, I’m gonna come back and haunt him just for more laughs.
There was a "blink and you'll miss it moment", right before the wife sees the ghost boy dancing to 'Tip Toe Through the Tulips', she walks through the laundry room and for the briefest of moments you see that same ghost boy standing there facing the wall. It's so fleeting that it's understandable that people miss it.
That and the kid is standing next to a hung up coat...so seeing a second coat and even a hat next to it isn't too out of the ordinary. It's when you notice the hair and the arms in the sleeves...

Your question of "How many kids she got ?" reminded me of something from my past. I was working and training a new management trainee at a now defunct outdoor store in Phoenix back around 1995. It wa quiet in the store when a lady walked in with like 7 kids. We greeted her and she went to look around the store. The trainee walks up to me and says " I think she belongs to that BMW out front. I walked to the window and looked out to see just a huge van. I said to him " what BMW ?" . He says "that van...Big Mormon Wagon" . I lost my shit laughing. My apologies to any Mormons here, but it was very funny at the time. Great reaction my friend !

Demons don't haunt houses... they haunt people. This entity has attached itself to this family for whatever dark purpose it has. Moving houses will do nothing to get rid of it. You would have to call upon the divine power to drive it away (exorcism, spiritual cleansing, etc...).

This Insidious fire face demonn reminds me a man i saw every night when i was little and even now when i am 31 and got new place and items, it still haunts me sometimes in sleep and my bedroom closet opens randomly and it looks at me from there just like it did when i was child in my childhood home.

I was born in 1980, was a horror movie freak all those years....saw them all from Hellraiser to Texas Chainsaw.....it had been almost 20 years since a movie had actually scared me, made my hair raise up.....this one and the sequel did just that(they are really one film).....very scary. More so if you have kids....its a whole other level of fear that you cant articulate unless you've raised kids(i have 5). Great fuckin film. Proves once again that a soundtrack can make or break a film....this one was VERY scary.

LOL You misunderstood the house part, you didn't notice the house change I guess, in reality they moved and just arrived in the beginning of the film, then when she asked him to leave the "haunted" house, he said okay and the next scene is them in their new house, house # 3.
I messed around and watched this with my son when he was 8. Fell asleep halfway through and he woke me up screeching . I forgot about the jump scares. 😬

Also, part 2 really does explain more about part 1. I recommend watching it, but it's maybe scarier than the first in my opinion. There's one scene that gives me chills down my spine. First time a movie has ever done that to me.
