- BMS Falcon 4 Ramp Start Video Guide. Second video of 3, this covers the Ramp Start to Pre-Taxi phase.
Note: Don't skip Part 3! You won't have a safe jet for takeoff and flight as there are a few more steps that need to be done!

Best video and instruction yet. I've been using the PDF from BMS ,but they get very vague in the start up. I will record this video and watch it 100x you describe it all in extreme detail and is most useful.
Definitely the best ramp start videos I have watched to date. Nicely done!
Jason I was in the marine corps for a while and delt with a lot of pilots. It seems to me either you have flown or are very knowledgeable of aircraft. I sure would like to know. What a great vid. keep it up man
The F-16 throttle grip is actually lifted up and over a physical barrier that brings the fuel flow out of off and into idle.
Mr. Cavanaugh. I have quite som trouble figuring out what is going on from
idle detent is your answer.. there is a spot in the throttle area that does that or you can find a the key combination(alt-i iirc) for panning you can use the 2d snap views(this guy has Track-IR)
@Shibidibo Not really sure what to tell you here. The SYM wheel (up) should raise your HUD brightness and make it visible. The only other control that has any impact on it would be the BRT wheel on the left-lower side of the ICP, which turns on HUD raster video (BRT wheel UP).
For QNH, hit "T" on your keyboard twice for contacting tower. Select option 1
Korafat, The original manual is bigger than most academic texts and is still a valuable resource for BMS. If you don't have it, there are PDF's of it and the BMS one in the game and online as well as Keyboard shortcuts. Throttle idle detent is default Alt India ( Alt + i) and flaps are default Ctrl F9/F10/F11/F12 (no joke). I know people often tell you to press alt tab or alt F4 but those really are the flaps buttons.
indeed awesome tutorial. many thanks Trekari
Very good tutorial. Good pictures and explanations.
What is the key combination to unlock the throttle during ramp start? I need to set up a profile for Saitek X52.
@4cGrom
I use a hardware idle detent, but it should be Alt-i if you're asking how to toggle Idle Detent.
So that I can join in the "can't figure out/find..." crowd. I can not find the air refuel disconnect. Thanks, video is amazingly helpful, even after all this time.
Thank you for your response Trekari, but ALT+I doesn't work for me. I'll try to set x52 in the advanced commands may be working.
How can i know which position of thortle is idle? (in a10c there are markings near the lever.. in f16 nothing like that)
very nice job it helps me very much thanks trekari!
Ufff...that was exhausting amount of info. :-) Great video. Thanks.
hello, awesome tutorial, however I'm having a slight problem with my ramp start, no matter how many times i click on the sys nob to turn the hud on, it 1. wont move and 2, hud wont come on, is there something im doing wrong or is my game messed up? is there a key command shortcut for it i can program into my joystick?
I know. One push of A-A will take you to that Master Mode. Pushing it again will take you back to NAV. Same thing for A-G.
how do you request qh from tower??
