Hi. E85 is corrosive as you said, but have you checked your fuel system such as fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel line from the pump that made with plastic under the body of the car and metal fuel line parts? Hope I can get some idea of your 5 years of ownership usages. Thank you.
All those parts are safe, long term effects are more in the engine, like if you aren't changing your oil often it will gunk up. Its not good to run your car on E85 for daily driving, try to pump it for fun times only
loving these vids. very informative as usual. got urself another sub.... you mentioned a tune but whats your thoughts on running e30-e40 with piggyback tune (like a jb4) on a stock fuel system? I've heard its fine since the difference in 93+ map and e30 is only 2 psi so its not a crazy increase but a bit worried bc a piggyback tune only really plays with the boost and can't change things like the fuel injection timing to my knowledge
Running mhd + it just doesn't seem to comfortable knowing that even though there's no check engine light if you scan for codes it will show the engine is running lean on full e85 but blended it's perfect with no issues.
@@ScubaDriv3r I ran 100% meth on my daily for 2 years straight. No water mixture. No issues. Pros: power, cooling, more knock protection. Cons: Dangerous, fire hazard on top of invisible flame, inhalation hazard, constant worry in the back of your mind
Hey Kern I have a 2019 M240 Xdrive and my ECU build Date is 2018.08.08 according to MHD. MHD says I need a bench unlock but it also says it cannot always detect if it's locked. Can I just flash it with MHD or do I need to bench unlock it?
I believe due to people wanting more speed you will most likely increase the wear of the turbo on E50 due to bm3’s tune requesting a max boost level of 24psi and then it tapers down to 22
I did my custom tune by myself, I’m running e40-e50, 1 sec 60-130 faster then MHD ots e40. And I’m maxed out timing, I’m now on 19 deg on stock turbo, and it’s max for b58, all timing over not gaining power. What I’m talking about, full e85 will not gain a lot over e50, just a little for better cooling effect.
Full E85 at these power levels is for ease of use not for power. Even hybrid turbo you aren't coming close to needing full E85. But remember, with full E85 you are "bullet proofing" your fuel by taking away 93 all the way so that there's no chance of shitty 93 fucking up your timing
So an 6-port Supra’s, I could run full E85 reliably with just PI? No need to upgrade HPFP and LPFP? Most of the Supra guys be saying to upgrade PI w/ LPFP 😅
But how can i know if my 98 ron pump gas is actually 98 ron? (for mdh tuning, for example). I just installed the tu pump and already had 200 cell downpipe, so i switched form stage 2 93 oct to stage 2+hpfp 93 oct, aaaaand tbh.... there isn't much difference. I DON"T HAVE ACCESS TO E, in case anybody suggests. I live in Romania, east Europe.
baga de la OMV de 100 și sigur este peste 98 . La mine a fost o diferență de cuplu sesizabilă între mhd stage 2 93 vs stage 2 hpfp 93 . Am un m240i f22.

I think you should have touched on using a couple of gallons of E85 on a stock car
Manual says don't go above an E15. I run 1.5 gallons of a true E85 in my G87 and she runs great.
@davidtennien39 cool I didn't know it said that. I'll stick to that thanks
@@carbonm2 keep in mind the vast majority of gas pumps are already E10, and legislation passed allowing up to E15 on regular pumps.
Great video. Really like the B58/S58 side-by-side discussion. Helps as someone looking to move between platforms.

Glad you remade this finally getting a bmw definitely will sub to this channel as well
I am running full E85 on stock engine since over 40.000km - with a custom tune of course. Power seems comparable to a full stock car.
Yeah you're not gonna have gains on full E85 with stock fuel system as your tune will step back the boost since you have less fuel at the top
How are you only make the same power? You should be getting a ton of gains from a tune with ethanol.
Hey Kern, quick question, did u change the fuel filter or u kept the stock one? Just wondering if it needs to be change due running E
No need but if you should have an upgraded LPFP if you're running full E85, which in its own will come with a fresh filter

How much max power can the engine make safely before the AT starts to slip? Also after how much power do you need to upgrade to PI to make some more?
Is there some kind of overview of different gas stations, which do have which amount of ethanol (tested)?
