I remember these shows back in the day, everybody watched them and loved it. That bark canoe is a beauty, that shape they got is perfect. Interesting to note that only 2 of these fellas grew up with the knowledge of how to make one, the other 2 are fascinated in the building method
incredible that malcolm hung out knee deep in croc infested waters, mozzies, jellyfish, snakes, spiders and lived but was sadly lost in a car roll over. mad. simply incredible adventurer.
They're pretty good mate. The floating car full of empty beer cans was quintessential old school Australia. People used to take a Roady beer to drink on the way home from work whilst driving. I'm glad it's not as common thing these days. My old man spent a lot of his life digging people out of wrecked cars and when he became a senior officer in the fire service, he was on call 24/7 in a department car. If we were out I had to sit in the car at some horrendous accidents. A lot could have been avoided.
Iv washed everything by my idol, and I must say this is the show, even better thanwhen he hunted in Arnhem Land for oil snakes a turtles, I n croc infested swamps!
Here's a little bit of useless information: contrary to popular belief Aussie's don't drink Foster's thats for tourists and the export market. Victoria Bitters or VB for short is their go to brew. If your ever in a pub in Australia don't order a Foster or you'll get some looks.
When a mate came over from WA to Germany. We visited Kiel Week and the Australien booth on the international market was sponsered by Fosters. He was really upset and actually insulted. "Do you germans really believe we drink that piss?" It was just hilarious!
Foster's is made by Carlton , in Victoria state , Australia ( or ,at least it was in the '90's . I never saw Foster's down there ; a bottle of Carlton ( liter ) was less than 1.00 (Aust. ) ...and I saw many a pub when I was there ....just sayin'. Foster's sucks , like most American beer does ( commercially made , that is ....and , by the way ; ya won't see much decent Aust. wine here in the states ; they keep the good stuff for themselves . (...says a notable wine producer I met in Victoria .

Malcom was the man what a life lived.
And such a sad way he left this earth. Such a Miserable death for such an awesome guy
Too bad his marriage and home life went to hell while he "did his thing".

Grew up watching him as a kid in Australia, still so watchable, a real adventurer and an Aussie icon.
Same. I grew up seeing re-runs of his adventures.

Love watching this every now n then. My poppy Greg is an Australian legend 🫡
Saturday nights me and my dad would watch this.
The Toyota Landcruiser. The legend that allows survival in most of the world that isn't urban. Malcolm is the human equivalent.
The old Landcruiser is an engineering marvel
Ironically, it's what killed him in the end.
Time flies and changes things so quick, deadly
VBs and ciggys are all you need apparently for an outback adventure 😂
M😊😊
Malcoim is of course iconic, but you have to give some cred to the camera team!
This beauty is begging for a 4K re-scan of the film if it's still knocking around.
Amazing adventure. I don't think no one these days will tackle deep water crossings like that without a snorkel on their 4WDs.
Lived his BEST life
The aborigene bark painting is beautiful indeed.
Love it. From the old Aussie.
2:40 that’s my grandad! Greg 😭
great episode, learning how to build a consistant roof and a canoe from natural bark ressources
Everrooftton
No snorkel, diff lockers, turbo, lift kit, lithium batteries, fridge, inverter, solar panels.....
Just balls, and a camera.
This dude is peak Australian.
I write this while sipping on a frothy latte from my open plan office in Melbourne😂
