Keep it coming ABC. I remember the show back when I was a pup and the old boy watched it all the time. Now it's my turn to watch it with my young bloke 👍
What a great ambassador for Australia.and the natural world. they used to put these programmes on the British channel 4 on a Sunday. gave a mellow glow to the day.
Such a beautiful country, gee it's great living here. My Dad spent the 1960's and 1970's living up near Cape York, QLD. Very remote. He worked for CSIRO. Les Hiddins was ex-Army and came up there to learn, and my Dad helped teach him some useful things to do to survive up in the tropical Cape. Dad's a humble fella, now retired, but it's good to know that half a decade ago, as young lads, they were up there!
Bush Tucker Man was my all time fav gowning up in the 80's/90's, I loved David Attenborough of course, but Les and is pure Australian way of explaining and doing things will always be a part of me :)
In the year 2022, with so many influenza's, ooops, I mean (social; media) influencers talking so much BS, just how refreshiing is it to watch something like this, with someone being so "natural" and knowledgeable. What an absolute legend Les Hiddins is, and also what a great example for the current crop of influenza's to take note, and learn, from.
On a rainy Friday afternoon our history teacher would wheel in TV to watch old version of this. We would then spend hours practicing our Aussie slang hah
Flippin Awesome Mates. Last I heard, he was in a jamb about a Vietnam Vet (survivors) bush camp in Cape York ??? A Hero to the nation and the land and The World. God Bless Him..
I've actually never heard anyone say "Bonza" here. And it should be "good onya". Not hving a go at you though mate. Les Hiddins is a national treasure. Glad you enjoyed watching. 👍

Shows like this need to be on the tele more often, wether it’s Les, Ray Mears or anyone who truly knows their stuff! Kids need it, I need it!!

Remember it well!
Golden age of Television I wager.
back when it was worth watching the box and wasn't full of agendas being pushed.much love from the insane asylum formerly known as Queensland
9:12 "I've never seen a mosquito that big, 90 gallons yeah, but not 100". Classic. 🤣
Still such a great show, Shame this sort of thing is not taught in schools and such. Basic bush survival and bush tucker.
It would teach more than that to I reckon. Teach kids a bit of healthy self sufficiency and healthy respectful confidence.
When i was younger they made us watch this at school
Bush Tucker man is a national treasure! Could we get the soundtrack sometime as well?

"...90 gallons yeah, but not 100..." typical Aussie humor I grew up with... dry as a nuns nazzie, love it. I miss old school Australia.
This is goin straight in the pool room 🇦🇺
How much he want for it....tell him his dreaming 😂
How's the serenity
Always a pleasure to watch. Legend
Youll never have seen David Attenborough knock up a canoe out of tree bark in a day ,,Amazing
On a rainy Friday afternoon our history teacher would wheel in TV to watch old version of this. We would then spend hours practicing our Aussie slang hah
Where are you from Mate. Yeah his voice reminds me a lot of my relations who had grown up in the bush.
Growing up in the UK it was Attenborough and Les......both have given me a love of nature and our environment.....I love the Bushtucker man!
Loving this show. Growing up in the 90's, the production and aesthetic takes me back to a happier, simpler time
this is awesome. currently binging all available episodes.
Yes abc should make a complete series on dvd, it would sell out.
Enjoyed this as a kid and now an adult..
Thank u ABC. .
You can tell how much a bush tucker man knows by the size of his hat. The bigger the brim the bigger the expert.
A lot of Aussie kids from the 90's watched this show with their dad
Best programme ever.
Yay! Bush tucker man is back!
Love Les
Camping near crocodiles, what a legend Les Hiddins was. These well made shows are great.

Good show
Les’s hat could be used as a sun dial
BTM baby!!
Back when the ABC liked our Australian serviceman
Man I will give you $5 for that hat. Cheers
next too the aboriginal people he is one of the best bushcraft experts in Australia
Les has done more for Veterans than the entire Australian Government who treat them with the same disdain they treat the unemployed
god i wish i was there
Does anybody know where Les is now
Does anyone know how to get hold of Les's army snack maps?
There was a printed version years back. along with his book, Map and books go for $150-300 on ebay, but someone might have pdfs..... ahem
This guy is awesome but he has the goofiest hat I've ever seen. I've never seen a hat quite like it.
His signature trademark
a time when the ABC was king and not stuffed by Libs/Nats
if you want to truly honour indigenous tribes in Australia-learn their principles and lessons; not give fake homage.
its weird when your an adult watching this and realizing this is all staged
What recent war crimes has Canada committed because the only ones that I only know about is the ones from World War II
