This is NOT how u align a crooked steering wheel. I have looked at the front steering and it's impossible for the LF steering knuckle, steering box and steering shaft to loose there alignment unless parts have been replaced. I experienced the crooked steering wheel after a u bolt broke and was not put back together with a wheel alignment. The only reason your steering wheel should be this far out of wack is the rear axles are dog tracking making the truck drive crooked. If your steering wheel is ever this far from center u have a serious issue with the rear axle alignment.
Steering parts usually bends with good accidents. So align guys will streight out the easiest wheel. They only align 1wheel to make it all works good. This is not a small car where they align 2wheels at once. You got to see at list once to understand the technique.
A M also it depends what kind of steering you got. There are two types. Truck and car type of steering. If I would have a car type of a steering system, probably they would streight up steering as well but not in my situation with a truck steering type.
@@DKUSTOMSGARAGE thank you for your response. Its on a 2016 Freightliner. This truck was in an accident on the passenger side where it did hit a pole tearing up the steps. I have had the truck aligned several times but the steering wheel isnt aligned with the truck. I saw this and figured I could give it a try on my truck.
God bless all you truck drivers that are not camera shy and help us by posting great content.
Thank you. I want to post more videos how to fix or solve problems so other truckers can save money on the road.....
Yes sir
Hi this is the same process on all the semi trucks ?
Adrian Vilches Volvo trucks have an airbag, but rest of the trucks should be the same.
Can't do this on newer model fyi
Why not? What is different there? Is there is airbag?
@@DKUSTOMSGARAGE the New Cascadia have a notch in the shaft that the steering wheel can only go on one way
Can you do this on a truck with air bags?

For a semi truck is different. When you allign tires, steering wheel doesn’t align.
Why a steering wheel needs to be aligned?

Alignment wouldnt help with straightening out the steering wheel? I have had 2 alignments done and the steering wheel is off by a few to the left.
A M if it’s was be looking off by little to left or right then yes. This is too much. That much looking in my situation is because of the accident.

A M align guys are lazy and don’t wanna do a steering wheel. So my way is very effective lol.
Not a good way to align btw, check and adjust the steering rods is better.
This is a Semi truck. They do aligns different from cars
