I hold this video dear to my heart, because I own an S2000. And it's nice to see one get worked on by someone who knows what they're doing.
This person wanted it to be a viper 😂
It's also nice to read a comment written by someone who knows the difference between there, their, and they're. Nice job.
@@williamramsey8978 this car is the opposite of the viper
What caused the textured bumpy paint job
I work at a regular body shop prepping and man it’s nice to learn a couple new tricks since we hardly get cars like this
There are so many tricks to that trade it's crazy lol
TIP - ALWAYS drill a hole just past where the end of the crack runs to - this will help reduce the chance of a stress riser causing the crack repair to fail. Learned that as a DENTAL TECH - fail to drill a hole in the end even after all careful crack repair work had been done and for sure - the repair would not last too long. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
Good idea forgot about that thanks
Even more impressive than your knowledge..its the way you can teach and explain !
Brian, you are doing an amazing job! This build will be beautiful when completed!
I am pumped
They got every single great honda in this video, wtffff😳🤯
The guy who painted it: "well it's red right?"😂😂😂😂😂
I used to work in a body shop 10 years ago on the wash rack. I always wanted to learn how to paint, but before I could, that job and I parted ways due to them closing up shop. I have always been a detailer by trade and spaz over perfect paint. Well last month I started acquiring all the tools needed to start painting here at home. I will admit I was pretty scared of how much money I was about to spend messing around until I got it right. This all started because I have had to have the hood of my car repainted 4 times now with less than satisfactory results ( improper match, stone chips down to the metal and now, pealing). I was scared to pull the hood off a 60000.00 car and just get after it, but thanks to your channel, I could not be more excited to do it! you channel has helped me not only fill a void in my automotive and detailing knowledge, but also realize a dream of one day being a painter. Thank you for these videos and the knowledge you have passed on!
I will really like to see the part 2 of this vid
Yes please
Buddy of mine used to have a 95 Civic coupe back in the day that was "Milano Pink", and he got it resprayed in New Formula Red. The car looked awesome!
That yellow Type R remind of the 2000s!
The one dislike is the guy who painted it previously lol
It’s a part of the game. Doesn’t bother me
Lmao probably so
Damn there were 51 people who contributed to this shit paint job lol good video you got a new subscriber
Lmao probably
Can't wait to see how the new paint lays down and the blending works.
Going to end up painting the whole car
The video made me fell like I was right along with you guys. Great upload! I can't wait for the next one
Gotta come back to weld this trunk. Road trip? Lol
Nice to see that Josh from Jake and Josh is still working.
A must see for every customer! Better than Tech School.
Thanks !
I was raised in Auto Body repair and you are doing top notch repairs and very good quality paint work! Brings back memories of being in my dads shop. Nice job!
Thanks Jeff!!!
Saw this car at the meet, Was wondering what the heck was up with the front paint? It looked so well put together didnt think the owner would go for that. Glad you’re fixing the botched job.
100% agree
Stevie wonder’s painter came out of retirement😂for this one
Stevie wonder did the paint match on my car too
This is going to be a legit series.
I like the way it is. It gives kinda a new look..
Spoon s2k, dc2 pristine w/o tuning. Man, you work at my dream garage
Dealership 😊

@@PaintSociety i was pretty sure of that. you always work on hondas (at least in your usual booth).
I go check out this channel!
EDIT : subscribed!
By far the best video you guys did so far. IMHO. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Jonas!
You have given me the confidence to take on any spray work
After working with fibreglass for a little while and repairing cracks it is always a good idea to drill out the end of the cracks just to make sure it doesn't continue on after the repair.
You’re right Chris
@@PaintSociety also depending on the material used (chop strand or woven cloth) there can be delamination around the crack so it's good to drill holes down each side and use resin with a filler to create a bond through the repaired panel.
A small hand held sandblaster works real well on fiberglass cracks, it will eat away the material, leave a good tooth and the groove will have some of the parent fiberglass hair still attached to the original matting, this is not for the overall area just where the dremmel was used, give it a try I just use the siphon unit with the hose and just push the hose in the sand bag.
Very cool spencer!
Watching you block down that bonnet by hand reminds of when I did a paint job on an s2000 a long time ago. Its a small car but that bonnet is huge!
Huge and the fenders as well
Every time I watch your videos the first thing I think about is those guys in the White van scams. Literally the first thought I get every time.
Hard to get quality out of those guys after seeing the work it takes
“Don’t over think it, it’s just paint.” Easy for you to say lol! Love the videos slowly building my confidence thx.
Do you have any merchandise!? wouldn't mind a Paint Society T-shirt! think i spend more time watching this channel than i do with the wife haha. Good work Brian. - Paddy.
Haha ! Yes I do. I have the latest shirts available. Please email me. Paint.society@yahoo.com
On the front bumper that stress crack is going to come back if you don't grind part of the reinforcement bumper bar down. Get an angle grinder and take the sharp corner out! Great content as always!
Great tip!!!
Thanks for this one! I’ve been interested in seeing how you worked with fiberglass. Keep up the great work and tips!
Looking forward for part2. NFR is a great color. Painted my 66 mini same color as well. 👌🏼
Best painter on youtube!
Really enjoyed this video. Right now my panel shop stuffed up painting my nismo fenders on my r34 gtr a different shade to the original colour, very noticeable. Hopefully they can fix it asap
This is going to be a cool project. I just picked up a 2002 trailblazer in black that had a few door dings and clear pealing. I'm going to do an overall on it but should be cool
Awesome James!
It's a 2 tone fade! Love it! LMFAO
I would get lynched back here in the u.k for spraying 2k v.o.c's into the atmosphere like that, nice vid
Next time you're having trouble cutting through the paint try dish soap or wax and grease remover. Looked like it had some protection keeping the sand paper from working correctly. ;)
It was ceramic coated
@@PaintSociety is there something that will remove the coating for easier access?
The primed parts look better than the bad paint job.
The sad part is that the clear coat looks like it flowed nicely but they had contaminated air lines and didn’t care about the finish. Whoever painted it has skill but not much else.
forget that S2000, those 2 Phoenix Yellow ITRs look immaculate
It kills me when people paint a car then down refinish the paint when it’s done and it’s orange peeled. Great work btw
Brian you rocks car looks awesome
Thanks for the quality videos...that polish burn through info will come in handy for me now working on my kids truck...I got a little carried away.
You've mastered your trade, but your videos are just as good. So entertaining. Keep up the good work!
Editing is too new to me but I’m learning !
cant wait for the next episode in the series I have a couple of fenders that have a ton of fiberglass cracks so this was a great watch for me, thank you for spreading the knowledge!
Yes! Get that epoxy Diego. It’s great.
You could've save so much time using the new sandible Gorrila automotive duct tape! No mess on hands...
Thank you Brian I like these types of video cant wait for part 2 stay safe until next time
Going to rewatch this series i think

NICE...CONFIDENCE...The name of the game...If it flops...Sand it down and do it again...It,s just paint...I,m fix,in some ones mess as we speak...lol
Nicely explained , but can i ask you - Is this "sprayable polyester filler primer" or "2K high build surfacer primer"? just subscribed by the way. Great channel for learning. You're teaching straight to the point and enjoyable to watch also!
2k surfacer primer
Take more than paint to make that thing beautiful.
Good job on the paint but didn't you hear Hector is going to be running 3 Honda Civics with spoon engines? And on top of that he just came into Harry's and he ordered 3 T66 turbos, with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust.
the yellow typer integra is beautiful

That Lord fusor ez100 was awesome..too bad it doesn't sell here in Malaysia..we use epoxy glue as substitute..kinda messy.coz u had to mix it manually..
Man I love that 100ez
@@PaintSociety i was shocked to see that thing was exist..it will make my work more easy than use manual epoxy glue.
I hope this product sold in Malaysian market..
That's why I prefer PlastiDIp. Faster, Cheaper, Damn Craziest, Customizable, Peelable, Solo Job.
Build series, i like it! Still making great content. That's funny in a pinch i bought a husky and ive used it for six years!
Muy bien Bro saludos desde Honduras 🇭🇳👍 excelente trabajo
Wow Lesonal paint bank!
Like butter, you guys do extremely good work, always look forward to seeing ur videos 👍👍👍
That primer sprayed down so nice 😍
Oh yea. I love that gun
I am so sorry but I could only give one "thumbs up". You deserve more!
Just wondering why you used that specific primer, I have used sikkens and lesonal and am familiar with there primers but at 3-1-1 this should be used as a wet on wet surfacer no??? So would you not be aswell to use a 5-1 high build if you are planning on sanding afterward. By no means am I criticising as you do really great work ,just wondering why, maybe I can learn something 👍
Hi Karl if you check the tds it can be used a wet on wet sealer but that would be 2:1:10% yielding 1.3-1.5 mils
3:1:1 is the ratio to mix it as a primer surfacer and one coat will give you 2.0-2.5 mils
Thanks for the reply, it could have been a different product I was using as I am in Ireland and non sand variant was 3-1-1 and primer surfacer 5-1-1, just thought I might be missing a trick, have since switched from sikkens to ppg, again thanks for the info, looking forward to see the end result, I'm sure it will be excellent 👍👍💯
No worries!! Greeting from the United States
Just started watching your videos. Already love your channel! Grew up around a body shop. It’s so satisfying to watch a paint job turn out
Welcome aboard
Thank you!
So glad I found your channel you are a really good teacher thanks
Thanks Ed
Brian could you tell me an alternative to scuff stuff for us Canadians? Can't find it here. Thanks, Amazing video as always!
Yes!! Body work, Your awesome this is what I have been waiting for!!
Hope you learned something !!
Awesome man thanks for showing the whole process, I'm looking to paint my Tesla Model 3 Rebuild soon.

First time ever watching a video. Great host. Very instructive and well thought out. Good channel
Thanks Mike!!
This series is awesome! So I was wondering if you could give me some direction. I've got an old plastic bumper that has paint that's beginning to develop spider web cracks. Am I just going to have to sand all the way to bare plastic and respray or is there more I should look out for?
You need to completely sand the cracks down to plastic.
Is this samcrac’s paintjob?😂
Lol
Got the after market parts and the defects you had to address.
Awesome video great at explaining everything with great pratical teaching as well. Love it bro!
your videos are well done and well explained. 👍Appreciate the effort and the obvious love of the trade.
Wow this was a great video ! I want you to paint my Berlina black S2000 . I'm local 👍
I've had a panel go kind of matt after a few weeks, It started off great but now the finish has changed :/
really fun job , i was on learning soon get a job in europe
Absolutely amazing!! Definitely tuned into this series!! Great job Brian!!! Cant wait for the next episode!!
Great job
Your work is so god
I love your channel! It’s great content and you make it seem so easy and explain everything you’re doing so well. You should have 10x more subs.
ThNk you!
Your videos are on a professional level!
Thanks!
Just found your channel and videos. Going to tackle painting my entire car for the first time and glad you're one of the few channels that actually showcase a step by step process.
I have two questions, would a random orbital sander be able to properly scuff after block sanding? Also, preference on automotive paint brand from epoxy all the way to clear?
Thank you!
Yea but put a soft interface pad on it. Also my preference might be expensive but if you looking to save some money then check out matrix, transtar or omni
Excellent work, you put this primer really smooth! :D Cheers
Hey Brian! What a nice work! That eastwood lays it really good. I Would love to see a rim repair too :) Cheers from Hungary!
Phoenix yellow ITR 😩
Great presentation. Thanks for sharing.
Keep doing video 🥰🥰💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥 u doing great i will paint my whole car in my garage 💪🏻
im in love with all your videos keep it up bro
God bless u perfect tip perfect explanation
I love the repair steps taken. Im sure the cost reflects the repair, but at least I know it would be done right like this.
Brian like always very nice work and im smashing my like botton kaboooooooooooooom
Great Video.....i should bring my car to you
What's the purpose of block sanding the hood? Couldn't your have just used 180 grit on your DA sander?
I’m wondering about mixing different paints. What I mean is if a surface have a little bit of original paint, some kind of on-the-budget paint repair with solution based paint and then some rattle can paint. If I sand the surface smooth and use any kind of primer, the primer works like a new surface, right? So I can use any kind of paint on top of the primer. Or does the primer and the base-coat have to match chemically?
Nope. You can use any new primer over whatever you have under it. Just make sure you sand it smooth with 220/320
Paint Society Thanks man! You rock!
