Imperials: **deploys a very menacing and very large dreadnaught**
Resistance: **destroys it**
Imperials: *WE NEED TO MAKE IT BIGGER*
Lol. This is actually a legitimately funny comment.
I dont even know if the empire even have the money for that
@Nathan Ronco i swear they are probably gonna come up with a ship the size of the mothership in the independence day resurgence and gets taken out by a single A-Wing
Nazi Germany in a nutshell
@@tsarbombawithinternetconne875 SO FUCKING TRUE ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like how out of hundreds of turrets this ship has, only one actually fires at the resistance fleet👌
Actually 2
And launches no fighters or bombers.
what bothers me even more is that a ship this size doesnt seem to have any heavy anti ship cannons that blast these tiny frigates in 1 shot. kinda makes no sense to me
Once, Snoke was asked "what is it like to fly on the best ship of the galaxy?" He replied: “I don’t know, I’ve never been on the resistance cruiser garbage truck”
That monster of a starship is not just a gigantic spaceship that serves the First Order. It is their flagship vessel and serves as a warship, headquarters, home, palace and city in space. The Supremacy is seriously underrated.
It's a cool-looking ship, but a pretty silly idea. A moving capital would be super inconvenient, and deploying it on the frontlines is pretty braindead. Still a shame that it was so useless in the end.
@@Ruzzky_Bly4t it's not braindead if the one who commands it isn't braindead and the plot is not also a braindead too!
@@Ruzzky_Bly4tWouldn't a mobile capital be more convenient?
@@neutralino1905 How so? Constantly changing paths to get to and from the capital + it's a giant space ship which would draw all the attention if it were spotted. The costs to construct this thing would be so astronomical, you're better off building a navy instead. It's very vulnerable as we saw, and because it always moves, you need signals coming to and from it for every little ship, which could be tracked. Maintaining that thing requires a workforce the size of a city. It's also completely isolated from everything. A capital planet will have water, air, minable resources and a ton of area. This thing was designed for the rule of cool, not any realism. If it would annihilate most of the rebel fleet on a multi-week battle where ships would get repaired and restocked inside the capital, while it's persuing the enemy, that would be epic. But you can't make it look cool when it gets demolished by a ship 0.1x its size almost instantly. Disney just failed on that one.
@@Ruzzky_Bly4tyou don’t always need to move it. The Death Star and Starkiller pretty much served the same role. Just because it’s a ship doesn’t mean it needs to move constantly. Plus it’s a lot more convenient to be able to escape rather than being on a planet.
Compared to The Battle of Scarif, Endor or Coruscant this space battle blows. Why isn’t every ship launching waves of fighters and giant volleys of turbolasers?
what ? you actually think this is better than The LEGENDATY BATTLE OF ENDOR ?
I hate how Chewie just runs off into lightspeed and NOT help the resistance when he drops off Rey!!
Apparently the First Order didn't learn from The Empire's mistakes.
Mihai He literally said this was *worse* than the battle of endor
Speaking of turbolaser barrages, why does the Supremacy only seem to have a single cannon firing at the transports?
2:34 *I like Disney’s way to explain how this is canon and makes sense in the Star Wars Universe is by creating the High Republic era, they made a whole comic series just so they can explain that this is indeed 100% canon*
When people do that its SOOOOOOOOOOOO INCREDIBLY PATHETIC and annoying the developers were so lazy or stupid they couldn't make the information before or during the release of there story

I hate that some of the lasers are arcing downwards, now Disney is saying that there's gravity in open space
Eh their excuse is the planets gravity or the lasers have guidance systems that track the moving targets.
Lazers aren't objects, perhaps it somehow has some ability to fall?
@@jontheepic7601 I doubt that, they’re in space after all.
@@oisinau5402 Lasers having guiding systems is the most hilarious thing I have heard this week
Ya know, I don't even like the movie very much, but I'm tired of people using physics and science to complain about the movie. Do you guys realize that it's a movie about space wizards, and that it's not supposed to be hyper realistic?
The Supremacy is one badass ship
Sean Kratovil-Lavelle the most badass dorito I've ever seen
Too bad it got destroyed in the movie I would’ve loved to see it in Episode 9
@Verynn woooosh
Considering the laser blasts explode without actually touching the ships (0:50) I’m inclined to believe that the reason they’re arcing is because they’re actually similar to torpedos, and the change in direction is them locking onto the target
@@blitzy3244 weight doesn’t affect speed but it does affect acceleration from things like thrusters, not saying that it’s realistic that all of that couldn’t catch those ships
The blasts are hitting the ships energy shields that’s why they are exploding
This is the biggest Star Destroyer to ever appear in a Star Wars movie, possibly all of Star Wars as a whole....
*this video is 3 minutes long....*
Basically
I am not sure if you are THAT dumb to understand, but almost the whole movie was about how to save Resistance from Supremacy, so shut up with your lame points, what you wanted this to be a monotune movie where only one thing is on screen???
@@a_balloon I mean for it being so big and an integral part to the first order you’d think it’d have more time on screen.
@@yourfriendlyneighbourhoodb7585 True that, but go blame JJ for being so ridiculous about making TROS, everyone thought Supremacy was gonna be saved but no
@skem add episode 6 to that and then.
See.
As disappointing as TLJ was to most of us Star Wars fans, you gotta admit the Mega Star Destroyer had us dropping our jaws to the floor when we saw it
However I, and I'm sure the rest of us, wish we could have seen more of it instead of killing it off too soon.. :/
otaddiction One, I’m a Star Wars fan who very much enjoyed this movie, glad that it took away the OT character safety blanket for all the old fans, and Two the Supremacy is not destroyed. It’s crippled but not destroyed. It still launched an entire ground invasion, which proves it has functional capabilities
First Galactic Empire
Excellent, I'd really like to see more of it in the future films lol
Same problem as Starkiller Base in TFA. They slowly got rid of the FO with each movie lol.

Colbat Productions True..
Well I mean.... look what happened to the death star not having an escort fleet
Those 10 seconds of silence was so much longer in theaters.
Gotta admit they nailed one thing with TLJ
Sound effects and visual effects
0:00: the star destroyers: ready to get destroyed
Restaincen: you sure
Yep I am sure
Snokes ship: so who's the buster I planned to beat up
0:03 The sound that Supremacy makes is really scary.
Anyone else noticed the silliness of the animated plan @ 0:52 where they even make a cartoony swoosh sound when the little Raddus hypers out? 😂😂😂
I am a bit confused as to why the empire did not add a super laser on such massive star destroyer. With the size of such ship, I bet it had more than enough power to be armed with a super laser that is capable of blasting a chunk of a planet and do more damage than what the eclipse star destroyer is capable of...
Funny thing you mention the eclipse. That in legends is a. SSD that has a a super laser capable of destroying a core of a planet which would render a planet lifeless.
2:37 when you're supposed to play with your friends but you forget it's all a game and you go to far just to win.
The shields would've held that impact, executor have handled 3 star destroyers crashing on it from Hyperspace at once before, the Mega Star Destroyer wouldn't be different.
What makes you say an executor can hold it
The books
dang, i didnt know gravity was a thing in Space.
Without the Plot armor the "Rebel Scum" woudlve been felt like instantly deleted
Thing that i find annoying is the fact that fuel has never been an issue for starwars and secondly even if they ran out of fuel they would go at the same speed because there’s no friction in space
Wouldn’t really matter because the shields would shut down
They fueled their xwings in ANH
I love the Supremacy. The design reminds me of the B2 stealth bomber.
I don’t care if the light speed attack was inconsistent to lore, because that scene was dope with the bullet sound at the end!
The destruction of big Ships Breaks my heart
2:36 the most beautiful scene in the movie
The expanded lore of this ship makes it my favorite in Star Wars, unfortunately Snoke just had no idea how to effectively use it. This is either a planetary siege base, or a factory far behind your lines. This ship shouldn’t be a front line battleship
the sounds of the big green lasers hiting the shield is glorious
Thanks for this,it looks so fine without whining & force humour . Just pure space, love it.
The sound that snoke's ship sound is so intimidating
When a ship runs out of fuel in a vacuum (space), it would just keep moving in it's unaccelerated state (forward). When these ships run out of fuel they start to slow down and "fall" like they're in atmosphere. Even if they WERE close to a planet, after running out of fuel the gravity of said planet would cause them to fall and accelerate towards the planet, not slow down. I don't hate these movies but sometimes they're really stupid. Adding the "running out of fuel" (never before seen in Star Wars) was just an attempt to fish out some more tension where it wasn't really necessary. Them being chased without the ability to escape and being slowly destroyed was tense enough!
It would have been way more intense (and logical) if we saw the shields on the other two ships fail after getting hit enough
So basically, you could turn any big capital ship into an ultimate weapon as long as you equip it with a remote controlled hyperdrive. Got it.
Wait. Why is nobody talking about the fact, that this ginormously gigantic mega super duper stardestroyer only seems to have 2 (less than decent) canons????
Darius Man of hustle It has many, we only see 2 close up. Also turbolasers in general suck.
Man I don't care what anyone says. This movie LOOKS really good!!!
Nobody has ever said it doesn't look good because it looks amazing, however you can dress up a dead horse as much as you want and its still a stinking rotting carcass.
i assume you did not care for the movie.
Oh sure. The movie is good because of its visual, not because of its story, right?!
nah i was just saying it looks good. Wasn't saying it was good as a whole.

The Slow Destroyer
The only thing this movie finally did justice too was the ships shields. It was nice to see them actually portrayed working.
The sound design is so satisfying. Like for real, I could listen to coming-out-of-hyperspace-sounds for hours
I was hoping for a video like this, thank you man! And I also hoped the movie to have more of the mega star destroyer scenes, like inside :s
what force awakens improved to the point of perfection was the lightsabers: feeling energic and almost alive etc. what this movie nailed was the ships and their effects, that scene with the dreadnought jumping out of hyperspace made me go ımmh baby
An incredibly accurate analysis, while both films had their shortcomings these things stood out
the noise it made during the big booom is ZEWMMM
All that protection, but no plot armour
0:17 gravity.....in space...
Science...FICTION.
Guided....... missles.....
I like to imagine Snoke foresaw the Ben Swolo meme and thought, “If the fans like wide nowadays, WE GIVE THEM WIIIIDE!!!”
Ugh. This movie still hasn't aged any better.
This Ship Is Beautiful and Scary at the same time , And with a Name like 'The Supremacy' sends Goosebumps , but The Fact that Admiral Holdo came up with a bold and Ingenious Plan to destroy the Ship , makes me wanna quote General Hux..
"Whats the point of all this , If we cant Destroy 3 tiny cruisers"
Years late to this, but this is like the 40th time a super ship has been destroyed by a ship 100x smaller than it is. The FO should just retire all their big ships and build a shit ton of small ones.
2:40
And then, the entire theater went silent.
It gave me goosebumps that scene
I sat in absolute shock at that moment! It was so unexpectedly beautiful!
Thank you for your input Timo
Too bad it doesn't make any sense.
@JaXonzz Rule of Cool my dude, as long as it's hella fuckin' balls-to-the-walls awesome it doesn't need to make sense
Rian Johnson succeeded in topping all other films on how hopeless the cause was when the resistance is left with one small ship and the First Order still has an entire armada. And they can always reattach that Destroyer's wing.
I really hope they repair it. Such a waste of a great ship
They can always build another MC-85, or an in-canon viscount.
Either way, The Last Jedi has gifted us with new iconic ships.
Losing >10 Resurgents would hurt a lot more for the First order than the Empire, since the First Order still has to be careful with its resources compared to the Empire.
I mean, you say that, but then the movie says the First Order 'reigns', Rey claims the FO will seize control of all the major systems within 'weeks', and all this literally seconds after the destruction of Starkiller Base. There's a metric ton of incongruence.
I like the part where snokes ship comes out of hyper space and because of the gigantic size its shadow covers all the star destroyers with an eerie alarm.
goddamn the first orders ship designs were so good looking
anyone else confused how energy shot are curving in space, when space has no gravity
Homing? Maybe the turrets can only go down to a certain angle, so to compensate for that the missiles are locked in and curve towards its target
obviously, they are using trebuchet like gungans
@@g4m3st3p6 or maybe it’s the gravity coming from huge ships and the different gravity influencing devices in them

Seeing this scene in theaters was epic, everybody agreed without speaking. That lady was horrible until this scene she completely redeemed herself. The feeling in the movie theater itself was electric. It’s that feeling you get when you’re like oh shit oh no way hell yeah but you could like taste it in the air, it was palpable!
One of the dumbest scenes in cinema lol
it was lame and stupid
Holdo was trying to run away.
2:48 I hear like v10 f1 engine
2:14 EkhartsLadder Does it annoy you that there is a exposed bridge on the Supremacy?
Wow... Seriously?
Resurgent Class Battlecruisers had there bridges improved and backup bridges because of what happened at Endor. There is no doubt that the Supremacy and all other ships in the FO navy has the same thing.
Just A Random Bored Guy That Has A RUclips Account but the supremacy bridge is just sticking up like imperial star destroyers super obvious and exposed
Take a look at the bridge placement of the Executor and Star destroyers in general (Imperator, Venator, Acclamator)
TheMatrixGamer look at the resurgent class star destroyer. That’s a First Order ship. Look at how discrete and well protected the bridge is. They have 2 bridges for gosh sake, and an extra buried deep inside the ship Incase something happened to the other 2. Now compare that to the “hey I’m right here” bridge on the supremacy (another first order ship)
I would love to see those missed arcing shots making a full circle and hitting the Mega Star Destroyer.
Star killer base fires a giant red energy boomerang and is destroyed when it misses and hits itself
Me: sneaks into the kitchen at night

The Spoon: 2:48
Love the sound design of Ren’s tie in this scene. The howling instead of the screaming really makes it feel like it’s actually there.
Replicators vs a Unified Star Wars universe (158th try now, *_I._** WILL NEEEVER EEVER GIVE UP!!!)*
Hopefully they reattach that wing and get the ship working again in the next film. But what I really want to see is the Eclipse, even in the current continuity there is an Eclipse SSD we just don't know if it's an Executor model or the Legends version.
If you go into the books, the supremacy was too badly damaged to be repaired, it was then scuttled.
Has anyone else realized that a hyper space travelling small ship literally destroyed something so huge that the First Order has probably worked decades for?
In the star wars galaxy they should really make torpedos that can enter hyperspace, they were really effective at destroying ships!
So stupid, they were using Droid ships in the Prequels so why wouldn't both sides just use Droid fighters as Capitol ship destroyers all the time?

This make wish holdo was a better written character would gave her death more dignity
Steven Anchundia I agree. If she had a more likable character, then her sacrifice might have meant more. This is why Akbar would have been better for the scenes with Holdo.
Kenneth Kates
Yeah Sure Disney would let a Guy named "Ackbar" do Space 9/11
Seriously there is more people who spell "Ackbar" wrong than stars in the sky
Still, its sad how best scene in the movie destroys most of the canon we knew...
Fun fact:When Snoke's ship comes out of hyperspace, you briefly hear a First Order Star Dreadnought alarm
Oh, they finally did it, did they? I have always wondered why Hyper-speed ramming was never a tactic employed in Star Wars, and finally, here it is. With results as beautiful and devastating as I had always hoped and imagined.
Oh dear. You are a bold one to say that.
You know how the rebels could've just jumped a mc80 into the death star. You aren't questioning that, are you?

I’m curious… If the empire had the designs for The Supremacy, and allocated the same estimated resources it took to construct the first Death Star to instead make as many Supremacy’s as possible with said resources, how many of _these_ would be made? Because I feel like a fleet of this serving as flagships to local imperial fleets would have served a fine middle ground between the weapon of mass fear and terror that The Death Star was supposed to be and the fleet building that everyone in/out of universe says would have been more practical for the empire while it was in it’s teething phase.
If they also cancelled the executor, I could see the empire justifiably fielding about 25-30 of these ships (one to each Grand Admiral and Grand Moff, one for Emperor Palpatine, and one for Darth Vader, and a couple for long term exploration missions). They’d be great for long term missions outside the Empire’s supply chains (unknown regions or intergalactic void) supporting imperial construction on newly annexed worlds, or constructing new weapons you don’t want sabotaged (TIE Defender). Honestly this is probably the one gigantic ship in Star Wars that actually justifies it’s ridiculous size. This could probably be a good ship to give Thrawn to build his Empire of the Hand.
@@jamesxiaolong2199.
Naturally the emperors would be the most advanced, well staffed and expensive. And instead of a superlaser it could be loaded with dark side artifacts and tech to amplify his force powers so that the emperor _IS_ the superweapon. Imagine the force lighting scene in the last movie, but focused through his flagship and turned loose against ENTIRE BASES, CITIES, FLEETS AND EVEN SMALLER CELESTIAL BODIES from afar. Not nearly as destructive, but infinitely more demoralizing and sadistic, plus there’s next to no harm done the surrounding area. Just mostly pristine cities and bases lined with roasted corpses, which is a whole new level of evil to think about.
I’ve just realised how much I love this ship and I’m sad to see it go.

Sometimes you just gotta wonder where the First Order gets its infinite toys from...and how on earth are they so massively incompetent at using them?
1- They’re an Imperial remnant who still had 30 years to gather resources. After the Empire was defeated at Jakku, they fled into the Unknown Regions. Thanks to Snoke, leader of a group of people from the UR called the Attendants, and maps from Grand Admiral Thrawn, they were able to survive, regroup, and rearm themselves there.
2- Snoke made the mistake of appointing the son of an Imperial purist as his General.
I get that they are the Imperial remnant, but they aren't using Imperial ships. Somehow, in the Unknown regions, they were able to accrue enough funds and shipbuilding capabilites to basically get infinite goodies that not even the Empire could concentrate in one place, which makes no sense given how desolate the Remnant was at the Battle of Jakku, even before they were mostly blown to pieces by the New Republic.
Tank 1900 well, I mean, they don’t call it “Unknown” for nothing
The only logic I can think of to this situation is they have something similar to a Star Forge. In the Knights of the Old Republic game, it was a massive Dark Side space station fueled by a nearby star that allowed its master to mass produce warships at an unprecedented rate. With it Revan was able to stand up to the Republic and establish his own Sith Empire.
With the sheer size of space, it wouldn't be that hard to just take the resources from barren worlds or asteroids and turn them into ships over 30 years. You have to take into account that even the unknow regions themselves would probably have hundreds of thousands of stars, along with a greater number of planets, considering how common they are in Star Wars. The Empire/ First Order comes in, enslaves any sapient natives and strip mines them for material, using them to build ship yards and in turn pump out more ships.
First Order: "Build us a 60 Kilometer Wide Super Star Destroyer to act as our supreme demonstration of our military might and safely house our Supreme Leader."
Ship Builders: "No problem. Did you want any gravity wells on it like the old Interdictor Class Star Destroyers? It'll cost a little extra, but they will prevent light speed travel in case someone tries to suicide bomb the Super Star Destroyer."
First Order: "Nah we don't wanna pay for that. I'm sure it'll be fine."
