EckhartsLadder You made a good video but over all I think this space battle was a let down I haven't seen the movie yet but from what I've seen in this space battle it could have been done a lot better I don't have any problems with how they fought or even the idea of using the hyperdrive at the end that's fine is just it was so slow and it just felt so out of place for a Star Wars space battle that it just feels boring
I appreciate that this is the first movie to show a capital ship traveling through hyperspace.

I really love the sound of it, too. It sounds like a zeppelin - like some insanely powerful engines that have to plow through the hyperspace dimension to keep such a giant ship moving.
...and also hyperspace traveling through capital ships as well.

I really like the Raddus. A very cool ship. I like all the Mon-Calamari ships, love their overall look and the immense shielding power😎. The only thing that wasn't good about the MC85 is the ridicoulus low amount of weapons. It's even worse than the old MC80's...And the Raddus is more than double as big as these!😕

Mon calmari ship during the imperial civil war had advanced targeting computers so they hit with more accuracy and this ship no doubt had better computers to hit things better

The scene where the raddus is in hyperspace is awesome, the sound reminds me of separatist war ship sounds from clone wars.
Also, hux says "puny ship" yet the raddus is significantly larger than resurgent class star destroyers. Hmmmm

It's funny, I normally don't actually like mon calamari designs that much ( I know I know Heresy), but I quite like this one.
It might be the nose, or its length and the cool hanger design as well.
It's a shame we didn't really get to see it do much more than run away from problems..... until it ran into them.

it tanked fire from most of the first order fleet for 2 days and still could have kept going if it had fuel. Best display of shielding of any ship in the franchise. Also looks really cool
I've kinda just realised when kylo and his Squadron are attacking they are flying super close to the ship...... while the supremacy is bombarding it, bit of a risk of friendly fire.
Here’s how a ships shield is designed:
Blasts and particles can’t go through it, but fighters can. So the fighters are INSIDE the shield, therefore they can damage the ship.
Because Kylo Bitch is letting his emotions get the best of him and that is why he failed as Supreme Leader after he killed Snoke.
Well they have to get bellow the shield to actually damage it
The mc85 reminds me of the viscount prototype which would be cool if ackbar was able to pull in the viscount or maybe a mediator for the resistance due to his connections on mon cala and relations with other high ranking mon calamari officers like ragab

Plasmanode Yeah there is actually. The main ship is 1,187 meters but there is a larger variant similar to the Providence that is 2,544 meters long.
Frothy Walrus Yes, you are right. Grievous used that one as his flagship in season 3 of CW before he get's the "Invisible Hand" I think.

The MC85 is one of my all time favorite ships in the Star Wars universe.
Anyone else really wish that it was the New Republic versus the First Order? :/ This is just kind of depressing....Like here we go, Empire versus Rebels all over again....
If that were the case, we might have had the Guardian, the Lusankya and a Viscount against the Supremacy. That, I might have paid to see.
Just imagine, a few Republic capital ships and backup forces assisting the Resistance during the attack on Starkiller.....Or helping them evacuate in this scene, and we could've got big capital ships battling it out and a glimpse at those Starhawks, and T-80 X-Wings.....Man, the missed opportunity....

Raddus is more than twice the length of Home One, yet that size difference is never really felt somehow. It seems no bigger at all.
Hold up; Why didn't the Raddus keep going forward when the Supremacy and co jumped into the area? They would have both gotten the same amount of distance (and faster as it wouldn't have to turn around), possibly saved one of the supporting ships as the Resistance would be behind the star destroyers, and it would force the chasing ships to pursue. Even if they needed to get to Crait they still could do a slow bank and still arrive there, or maybe keep going behind it for a few kilometers then turning so they would be facing the broadsides and avoiding most of the heaviest of the Supremacy's guns
I personaly prefer the shields that are flush with the surface of the ship rather than the bubble shield. But what bother me the most is why would they stay in the more exposed bridge without shields when they knew there were still tie fighters around?

No they have a shield possibly a particle shield because when the shield is rhere and if its a particle, air wont get out so they are not on the ourside of the ship, i know this because this is from the imperial star destroyers and im THE GALACTIC EMPIRE
Gravity boots exist in the SW Universe. Plus stormtrooper helmets can be pressurised i believe, that or they're wearing specially designed ones.

The ships are supposed to look bad, the resistance probably striped them down for resources or maintenance accessibility (like y-wings in the rebellion). Would like to see complete versions of the ships though.

Hey Eck, my main proposition for a future video is more of an idea for a new series; but before we talk about that i wanted to ask you a lore/science based question. I know there are ion cannons in the star wars universe but my limited knowledge an I have never heard of or know if its even possible to ionize a turbo laser shot. I on occasion like to design capital ships and some of my designs have a axial super heavy turbo laser. I was wondering if its grounded in the star wars universe to ionize the axial turbo laser shot either before or after it leaves the barrel. I'm having a lot of fun making these ship and your videos help me find weaknesses and balance in my ships. I really don't want to design anymore around a axial ionized turbo laser if it isn't even possible. Please let me know in the comments if you have heard of anything like that or if you believe it would be possible in the star wars universe.
My idea for a new video would revolve around large battles conveyed beautifully with your majestic voice and amazing story telling abilities. The series would consist of an iconic "supercapital" ship like the eclipse or the executor with a small escort fleet battling it out to the death with a second fleet with a make up strong enough to give it a run for its money. The fleet make up and size would be completely up to you; whatever you feel stands a chance against the super's. I think this could work with your current series, star ship verses, or as somewhat of a stand alone. Super Capital ships are one of my favorite aspects of the star wars universe and a combination of your knowledge, enthusiasm, voice, and story telling capabilities would make for an amazing few videos. That said, everything I've watched that you've made so far I've loved; keep up the amazing work!
P.S. I loved both episodes of the "after Endor" series and would love to see them return. You are an amazing story teller!
I feel like the Ninka was the only thing in the Resistance fleet that could really do anything against Snoke's fleet having 3 friggin nukes attached to it. The Raddus was pathetic in weaponry. I wish I could love it more than I do but I could only do that if I'd seen it broadside a Star Destroyer with turbolasers.
The Ninka would've needed to be much closer to the Armada to even have a shot at launching the nukes, plus they might only work in atmospheres where there is gravity to drop them (lmao kinda reverse Starfortress), such a midgy little corvette would've been absolutely annihilated by the flock of Resurgents alone.

I do really like the raddus though I do agree with most of you that is needs more fire power but it makes it up with the shields and hangers, overall it is a very good flag ship.
I rlly like the fleet although It would have done better
The Ninka Could’ve approached the Fleet as well since it has 3 Large Plasma Bombs which could’ve been useful
The Virgil could’ve also been the one to jump to hyperspace instead of the raddus and instead of letting it go to waste
And the Anodyne could’ve also been useful for transportation
The only thing that i’ve seen helped defending the fleet is the Raddus
I’d call the ninka more of a “glass cannon” the second it got in close range of the supremacy it would’ve been blown away
This scene took me right out of the movie honestly, why are the lasers trajectory an arc? Do these "lasers" have enough mass to cause bullet drop. And even if they are solid slugs, there is no gravity in space to cause them to drop like that. And after what happens to Leia I can only conclude that space in the start wars universe has both air and gravity...
They aren't really lasers, but energized plasma bolts, like all star wars blasters

What confuses me in The Last Jedi is that the First Order appears stronger than the Resistance to the point where they are actually able to decimate the entire Resistance to barely a dozen personnel aboard a single ship (The Millennium Falcon) which confuses me because the opposite effect should be happening because the Resistance just destroyed the First Order’s headquarters, Starkiller Base which cost the First Order resources but not their entire fleet.
This is definitely my favourite Star Wars ship after the cr 90 corvette

people fleeing the bridge when general organa orders the shields be moved to the rear to protect the engines so they could get out of range, it was a gamble to leave the bridge unprotected but leia was more interested in saving the resistance at the cost of most of the high command

The normies (mainstream audiences) wouldn't really care for him as much as we do, to them he is just some fish guy from ep 6 that said a funny line. Though if the movies were for us the fans maybe he could've gone out in a cooler way and maybe the movie wouldn't have been such a convoluted mess...

MC 85 would eat the malevolence. Superior star fighters, which could decimate the cannons with torpedoes and missiles before they could even charge up. It's shielding is also ridiculous.
@@sithacolol5337 don’t forget the mc 85 had barely any weapons of its own, and the malevolence has around 500 turbo lasers. Plus if it’s hit with the ion cannon, it’s basically dead
@@splatoonistproductions5345 again, the shielding could eat up those turbolasers. And 34 heavy turbolasers is impressive for a defense built capital, that's 1,300 meters, compared to a 4,000 meter heavy cruiser. And I'm afraid you're gonna need more than your own weapons to deal with an enemy, especially when they have a much more superior starfighter roster, as well as a better hanger placement
@@splatoonistproductions5345 and like I said, the ion cannons take time to charge up, and even if it hits, the starfighters could easily dodge the blast. And continue battering the cannons, leaving it without it's main power source. And the Raddus would theoretically absorb some of the blast due to its ion engines, so it could power back up much quicker.
@@sithacolol5337 and also the Malevolence ion cannon is not perfect, when you rewatch the episode you can see the venator has some things still active, they are just glitching

the part where the raddus destroys snokes ship by going into hyperspace actually makes 0 sense as when you go into hyperspace you arent going really fast youre actually entering another dimension where distances are shorter like in the nether

@@ftferlo8868 real space things still have an effect even if you’re in hyperspace so you can still smack into planets and stuff if you don’t use a hyperspace lane. Interdictors work by taking advantage of hyperdrive safety systems to pull a ship out before it hits something

To be fair in the leia scene she had force powers and we’ve seen that force users can survive in space for example maul and savage survive in space even after being fucked up too

At the end Raddus was only good as a hyperspace missile. Look how terribly damaged it was.
