The same goes for dipping joints into a bowl of Hash Oil or spreading oil over some Zig-Zag papers and roll a joint with the oil impregnated Ziggies, DOESNT WORK, a WASTE of Hash Oil as it is in fact near impossible to light and to keep it alight to smoke it. People that talk crap on outdoor bud and don’t think there was good weed around back in the day are oblivious. What do they think? Some random “gas” strain came out of nowhere… I’d imagine it was just harder to find but when you did find it it was more unique. I feel that way now and I’m only 35. Stuff is just getting muddled together so much that there is no real unique bud to find.
I liked your comment and been smoking herb since I was 13yrs old lm 70yrs old now. The best smoke I ever consumed was outdoor ahganistani hash plant Maui wowie 1976 and real Kona gold. Nothing today compares whether it's indoor or out. And the Thai strains in the 70or early 80s were right there for sure. Kd SD. Cali.
I just picked up some D-Burger that's outdoor grown from BC. 25.6%THC. taste is delicious, hits hard. People who think outdoor is crap have never had outdoor grown by a master grower certified by a laboratory.
Btw, if you want a unique strain. Try Freezeland. It's a strain that became popular in eastern Canada. It' smells like ammonia & gasoline. Taste is really unique but delicious, hits quite darn hard. I only come across is occasionally, and I've grown it once, leaf & growth structure is very unique. Very cold hardy plant good for outdoor grows in cold climates.
The one thing cannabis never fails at is bringing people together, you showed a more intimate side of what the plant means to the Thai people that many others fail to do & it truly was beautiful to see you interact/get to know the locals. Hearing that small part about the Elder Village Lady's Life really was touching & it also provides a glimpse into the world that many don't often see so thank you for that and please provide more informative content (maybe a documentary?) like this because the community really needs it. I'm 18 and these past few years I've truly come to appreciate the benefits that cannabis can bring to the people of the world. My love is especially concentrated in the growing process and Im currently on my second outdoor attempt with a handful of plants, had popped some beans at 15 but never got to harvest sadly. Grew up in California so was constantly surrounded by it since some family had worked in the industry for a small time, yet As a kid I was always put off by the plant because I also got to personally see the negatives that it can bring. However, as time has passed I've matured a bit & experienced those negatives myself; With those experiences its brought a newfound feeling of respect but also passion that makes me want to strive & use these emotions as fuel to pursue a professional career in this field. Not to make money but instead because its a way to form all these wonderful experiences & really teach people just like you have. The world can do with less bitterness & more of those smiles , sounds of joy, & laughter that were shown in this video. Either way thanks again, this really gave me another boost of motivation & it would be a dream to grow some of my own for you to smoke one day, haha maybe some tips on how to get into the business too bec where I'm at (the lone star yeehaw state ) is kinda rough, The 2018 farm bill has people scramblin lol.

Super cool. Might’ve dropped a tear towards the end with the string tying as a sign of friendship and bonding. Being Cambodian, there are things the culture does to ensure that you are taken care of genuinely. In today’s society..thats rarely found. @@KISS2Fanatic Exactly. They enabled you to see things as you never had before. They introduced me to communicating with God. One day in 1977, I smoked a joint of Colombian Redbud and Jesus met me walking down Dolly Ridge Rd in B'ham, AL. And the Santa Marta Gold sparkled like real gold. Good times!
I remember the gold. To this day I've never tasted better. It tastes like hashish. Ounces were going for $40 and people were shocked at that untill they tried it. There's a guy who claims he bought 90% of that gold into the United States. He wrote a very interesting book about his smuggling days.
@@booze_talkin What's his name? I would love to read it. The first time I got high was Colombian Gold in 1976-77. I was 14 and spending the Summer with my Dad in Redondo Beach, CA. My Dad bought this 1960 Ford pickup with a camper shell from some hippie smugglers he knew. When he checked the spare tire underneath, there was a pound of the goldest weed I have ever seen hidden in the spare. Though Dad didn't know, I had smoked a few puffs off homegrown before and felt a little giggly, etc... But when I stole a bud and smoked a fat joint of what he said was Santa Marta Gold, my life changed. I talked to God and angels, heard their voices, defeated evil thoughts and tripped my ass off for 6 to 8 hours. Until it dried up around 1980, the gold and Redbud were still the best I have ever smoked. Thai and some of the green Mexican Sinsemillas were close.

I went there when I was in the Navy in the early 90’s. I loved it. Beautiful beaches, forests, the Buddhist temples and different architecture. The people were so friendly, always smiling, always helpful. They made me feel at home everywhere I went. I would love to go back someday and experience some of the things I couldn’t back then.

Mate I agree. In the 70’s North Queensland there was always “snap, crackle, pop” from the seeds in any smoke. Then came along Buddha sticks. Just dank sticky buds. Todays hydro has nothing on that 🙏😎
Psychedelics did wonders in my life. Over the course of my life, I've suffered from uncontrollable, depression, anxiety, alcohol, smoking, and illicit pills addiction. Imagine carving heavy chains for a long time and then all of a sudden that burden is gone. This is something that really needs to be used globally to help people with similar health challenges. I've been sober for 6 years and have my life back.
To be honest, mushrooms are one of the most amazing things on the planet and it is natural, they serve in many ways not only for mental related issues.
Can you help me with a reliable source? I have suffered from years of addiction, anxiety, and severe ptsd, thinking I got my panic attacks under control, they've come back with a vengeance, and I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't. It's absolutely crippling me, I'm in Switzerland and it is hard to get a reliable source here. Really need!
Yes, Sporeville. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction... Mushrooms definitely made a huge difference to why I'm clean today.
I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He's 59 & has many mental health issues plus probably CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD knows if it is common for an obsession with violence.
I grew up on Guam , I was a teenager during the 70s, we used to buy what we're called bricks of Thai sticks! Usually abut 20 or so Thai sticks in a brick, and man let me tell you, it was by far the best sativa strain I've ever had! Not to mention the best tasting! We would roll joints and had to let the joints dry because there was so much resin in the weed! And it would leave you almost comatose! Of course now if you grow you can shop on line and purchase Thai landrace strains of seeds! I'd suggest stocking up on some if you like sativa strains! 👍👍👍🔥
When you said, "almost comatose", it reminded me of the hashish we used to smoke in Spain that came from Morocco. That shit would knock you out on your ass for days it seemed. We used to take the hydrofoil to Tangier to stock up. Big damned egg shaped portions. Also, we would come back with the best damned baklava on the planet from a sook in the main market. Times like those make for great memories...

During the Vietnam war I was stationed in Thailand '72-73 where those gooey sweet Thai Sticks were 10 cents apiece, bought in bricks of 20 for $2. We had to heat them in a frying pan to dry them out enough to roll. Rolling papers were impossible to find, until we found a small size rice paper calendar that produced uniform dubs the size of my middle finger, I know because I held one up to compare. Of course the infamous bong was always nearby or on the coffee table of our 3 bedroom handcrafted off-base bungalow we each paid $25 a month for + $5 for the house girl who cleaned, made the beds, and did our laundry perfectly. Dinner was across the street for 25 cents, (no tip). I have been back twice, needless to say great memories..but nothing remotely close to that first year of discovery in the "Land of Smiles" ✍)))

The best most incredible weed I ever smoked was a Chocolate Thai stick in 1974. It tasted and smelled just like a Hershey bar and hit like a narcotic. Incredible.
I'm 64 and now live in Thailand. The first time I got high was on Thai stick in Australia in the 70's. They were super expensive but much stronger than any local grown then around the early 80's it started coming as compressed brick but was still really good
I'm sure all rejoiced when you descended from the sky over San Diego while clutching bundles of Thai sticks that serve as the holy sacrament of the abused masses of American capitalism.
I was stationed on the US east coast in the 70's and a guy in my unit from Connecticut was a pretty successful "entrepreneur", so to speak. He came back one evening and had a bundle of Thai sticks. They were the most beautiful MJ I had ever seen.
Back in the 70s I was involved with people who brought weed/hash from Asia, Mexico, Colombia, Panama and the Middle East into Canada. I was basically still a kid involved with people who were much older and was lucky I didn't get busted. Back in those days all the stuff (in my circle) from the Eastern Hemisphere came to Canada via Amsterdam and everything from the South came up through Mexico. The best hash we got was Gold Seal Black Afghani, Red/Blonde Lebonese. The best weed we got was Colombian, Panamanian, Mexican, Cambodian and Thai. I was fortunate to experience the best available back in those days (along with some crap) and Thai sticks were King. The least time I saw/smoked real Thai sticks was 1980 or 81. It is sadly missed. It was a real pleasure living vicariously through you guys and seeing that real Thai weed is still a thing. Got any for sale? ;-) Thanks for the post.
Thai sticks are the reason I starred growing at home. I'm 68 and I can't believe that Thai Sticks have not been duplicated into the mainstream market. It's such a unique and fantastic taste. I have to go there. I've been to Thailand twice, but not to look for the Stick.

I spent a month trekking in Northern Thailand in the mid 80s. There was a lot of Opium around, and unfortunately many local men in certain villages addicted to Heroin, smoking it in pipes or bongs. Lots of militias in the forests, passed a few poppy fields (you could tell because they were surrounded by elephant grass), and a low level war going on between various factions, Burmese militias, and the Thai government forces. I asked around for bud but wasn't able to find any until I found a Karen village that were growers, I bought a small bag of beautiful deep and bright green buds, compacts and a bit sticky. I rolled one up myself and the few there foreigners that were also trekking through, but no one else wanted to smoke, so I ended up finishing off the huge J through a short green bamboo bong I had made myself, with the help of the Kareni guy who got me the bud. I remember lying back and having visual hallucinations for a long time, making cartoon movies in my head. It was by far the most potent and pleasant high I' had ever had, just amazing weed, even compared to the best Humboldt stuff that I had tried a few years before. Good times.
I've tripped on weed with the cartoons in my head before too! Spectacular stuff back in the middle 80s from some Vietnam veterans at a 4th of July fireworks show. Nobody had bud, everyone was dry,cuz back then nobody was growing indoors yet and you either got brick from Mexico sitting in a barn for years until the local came back around. So smelling awesome weed I asked the vets to sell me some, but they only had a little but smoked us up.😊 Kind man,few hits and I floated up up and away! Oh yeah.
When I was a teenager in Thailand there was something about Thai stick that would make me and my friends just laugh every time we looked at each other, then I moved to Europe and have never experienced anything like that since.
Thai stick remains some of the finest herb I have ever smoked. I just spent 6 weeks in The Kingdom with a couple weeks north of Chiang Mai and up towards Laos investigating the herb scene. A lot different than the commercial, greedy cluster fuck in the south. While I found lots of herb tied on sticks, I found no what I would term real Thai stick. But some fine herb was to be found! Phenomenal country. I'll be back and hopefully the government will leave the herb alone.
My dad usto live in thailand back in the day n he always told me real thai stick is thai buds on a babo stick soaked in opium ... Sounds like some good shit lol
I hate to tell you this but you're Dad was fibbing, ninety nine per cent of the Thai Stick in those days was just incredibly strong weed with no additives.Every once in a while you might find an opiated batch but it was very rare indeed.
Your father is right. It wasn't around very long. You paid more for it. Then people wanting to make extra money started tieing just regular everyday weed on what was wooden BBQ sticks. Greed finds its way into everything. Thai stick was the best weed I ever smoked.
At my last job, I worked with many people from Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. Knew them all for about 10 years, we have more in common than we have differences. I was invited to parties and was encouraged to bring my children, they are all about family, tradition and respect. Their parties (celebrations) usually lasted for 2-3 days and you were expected or at least encouraged to stay at the hosts house the entire time. We were aways well received and looked after. I still love them, honest and genuine, i love them all.
Damn, the string bit made me tear up before you said you were holding them back just recounting the experience. That was beautiful, thank you for sharing!
I grew up in Thailand and bought first cannabis srd 1970 from a taxi driver. He said to meet him around Pat Pong the next night. Sure enough he was there. 100 baht, 5 dollars in those days, got us 2 bushel baskets of tops. Then there was Krung Tip red pack, pre-rolled and opiated for 40 baht a pack. Those were good days of high adventure. 🙏😎

As a head in the early nineties, I spent a while in Thailand. The weed was always bought in bags. On leaving a place to head home, I emptied my rucksack of western clothes etc and gave it all to some locals that had been typically nice to me. A year or so later I returned without announcement. I was fed, watered and given a proper Thai stick . A surreal and precious moment!

Your very correct
Bring people together? Everybody I know smokes alone, closes the curtains, and turns their phone off! 😂
It also makes people get ignorantly sentimental and fake deep for no reason.

I am now 67 and was regularily getting real Tai Stick and Opiated Tai Stick during the mid-late 70's. I was drooling watching this video, would love some of that great Tai product. I get incredible weed even now, been blazing up for 50yrs, but the memories of the incredible Tai Stick, blonde and black opiated hash and hash oil will always be with me and bring a huge smile to my face. I think I need to take a trip to Tailand!!! If their culture was allowed to spread all over the world there would be no wars and humanity would unite like we just saw on this video. Maybe thats why governments made it illegal, might stop their mighty war machines.
Great post , I remember opium tai stick , a beautiful high....😊
I used to love that hash and black tar hash back in the 70's. It gave the absolute smoothest high!

I remember back in the 70s getting Columbian gold and red, the taste of the gold was so good it's hard to describe. And when the Thai sticks came to town they were incredible. I really miss the 70s.
I have been searching for that taste and experience of Santa Marta Gold, Colombian Redbud and Thai Stick for 40 years. Noting has ever come close.
Hell yeah
I smoked Thai Sticks many times from 1975 through 1980 or 81 in RI. Never after that. Heavenly memories.

Don't be silly, it's not just THC what's in the weed affects a man to be good-natured, cheerful, relaxed, creative.
@@mickeymomighty5660 He never said it was all about THC. He just asked a specific question many would enjoy knowing so they can compare the levels of vintage and modern varieties. A westerner venturing out and feeling the warmth of a true community and being baffled by the feeling, tearing up thinking about it, really shows that there is a lack of community in the west. Beautiful video, very insightful, much more than I thought it would initially be.
The West is too diverse , diversity destroys culture.
I’ve experienced true community here in the US, maybe in the city you can’t find it but it’s alive and well in the rural USA. ✌🏻
Sounds like a Democrat City problem to me. You may want to ask yourself why you don't know your neighbors, and why you blame the US for it, and not yourself

Congrats on your recovery. Most people don't realize that psilocybin can be used as a miracle medication to save lives.

I was statiioned at NKP for 18 months in73--74. This video brings back great memories. Thai sticks were 2 baht each When the dollar was devalued, the price went to 3 baht each. Thats 15 cents US.
