On August 22, 2023, the path of cannabis legalization took an unexpected turn in Thailand when newly elected Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin assumed office.
Unfortunately for recreational cannabis users, Srettha ran a hardline anti-drug campaign and has since vowed to rewrite regulations, restricting cannabis exclusively to medical patients.
With an estimated timeline of 6 months for these changes, we'll be tracking Thailand's evolving cannabis policy.

@douglee4268 chemical nutes all the way, it's all the same stuff once broken down and chemical nutes are instantly avaliable, you get a lot of heavy metals in organics aswell.

I lived there from 2009-2113 & I was friends with local police officers they told me if I murder someone no problem but if I was caught with a joint they couldn’t help me, so what happens now is a step in the right direction but it was a crazy way 2 do it every thing is legal & then restrictions came & now you need a medical card 2 medicate legal…

I had a lot of great moments in Thailand, beginning in 1989 and through out the 90's I had the opportunity to travel from South to North of Thailand.
And already in those days i found people smoking bongs everywhere. There was "ganja " everywhere, the first time I got some, was at one night market in Bangkok. A pack of cigarettes Krong Tip, perfectly done with ganja instead of tobacco. I found the ganja in a lot of public places...

I got to smoke some of my mom's Thai Bud in the late 1980s imported into Los Angeles. You could tell it was Tropical. Although it wasn't super potent, it had an interesting appeal because of it's funky, get down and boogie type high. I grew up in a party house in Hollywood with my mother who sold Ganja and Hashish. One of my favorite smokes was Red Lebanese Hashish. I got to smoke a few puffs. I would like to see World Peace through mutual exchange and free smoking of Cannabis!
There will always be restrictions,like for example, you can't smoke inside a hospital or restaurant.
I'm 74. Thai sticks were some of best pot I ever enjoyed. It was quite potent but more than anything it was the high. It was relaxing and happy. Now dispensary weed is all about THC levels.
You can always tell a Pothead by the variety they have tried. I wouldn't smoke Ganja or Hashish unless I knew the Grower or I Grew It Myself. In Europe, I heard they like to spray synthetic THC on the Herb. Fuck That.

Awesome,,as someone who been smoking cannabis since the late 1960s and have seen the progression of cannabis throughout the world and let me say that in the early 70s tie stick was the shit to get.. growing up in the los Angeles area it was always something to keep looking for,, Panama red and Columbia gold or red these were the best cannabis strains at the time and place,, considering brick Mexican was weed full of stems and seeds this what we had,,love videos you guys are putting out keep it up
This all seems pretty cool but the saddest thing is no one seems to remember the classic Thai strains that thrive outdoor in Thailand. Huge twenty foot tall plants that resemble a fruit tree more than a cannabis plant. Was also the most expensive cannabis in the late sixties and early seventies when most was dirt cheap because of it's amazing quality.
Only when people are denied they become agitated,else they are happy and productive.drugs should be kept cheap and affordable for all. Only legalization can protect innocents from being used to uphold the extreme profits realised.legalization is the only way forwards,please support us,the sickly prescribers,and not the profiteers

As long as people can respect each other like with the sign's shown at the beginning with where it is accepted and where it is not there should be no reason to ban rec use outright. I can totally understand people not wanting to partake in this plant and they should never be forced to just deal with it, but at the same time there Needs to be places where people can enjoy it without the fear of Law and without upsetting the people who want nothing to do with it.
It's all about respect, and it's a two way street.

The bud has gotten so much better since this was filmed. You can find beautiful weed everywhere now. It's also becoming cheaper, so glad the brick isn't thw only option now. You can buy a kilo of that for like 85$ now lol.

I was there the beginning of the year, it is very similar to how legal cannabis is happening here in the US. You definitely have to get away from tourist areas unless you are going to be paying top dollar for good shit. I would love to move there and get into growing there once the government finally sets some rules.
It's kind of the same for the US. You have to go to places where Cannabis has been legal for at least 1-3 years so the prices can go down which is better for everyone. If you head westward from the east coast, Cannabis is cheaper outside of New york/New jersey.
Im Thai and the price for exotic quality weed is like 3-5 dollars/Gram. Dont buy from shop you will get 5x the prices

good video. i think at the very least it shows how the new govt isn't putting this genie back in the bottle. massive grows, tons of shops, lots of people involved in this industry already. Thai govt is always focused on face. they will probably get rid of the weed shops in the major cities. might make it online and delivery only - with a med card at most... the farm i get mine from (just got a 2oz delivery today) expects no changes at all, and they have close ties to govt and education.

Foreign shops should support Thai growers so that this cycle can continue a little. As for foreigners, they often have farms to grow on their own. Then came to open a shop selling everything myself. That makes Thai growers not like it much. Because the government's organizing system does not eliminate Growers encounter problems That is, after growing it, I don't know who to sell it to. In my experience a bong this long would only result in very "cold"/harsh smoke...
In my teen day's we had build a 3 meter high bong, one guy light's up the bowl and one guy on the garage roof inhales... Was terrible, because the smoke took so long to get to your'e mouth...
We end up using a not loaded Co2 airsoft gun to shot into the kickhole when enough smoke was inside the bong...This way you press the whole amount of smoke into your'e lungs while you inhaling strongly...

It could change the law. One of the reasons is the impact of social media. As a Thai person, I am always active on X (Twitter). Most of the people who anti cannabis are teenagers. Most of the teenagers in Thailand anti cannabis because the people who legalise cannabis come from the government, which from the coup the last time.
Moreover, the things that they say on social media are fake information about cannabis. Most of the suspects who do nonsense things or do harm to someone always allege that they use cannabis so that they do harm or nonsense thing so that they can have a chance they use other drugs, while cannabis can’t have this effect. However, when the news report said that the suspect didn’t contain any THC in their body, the teenager still did not believe it and continued to talk about the old news(before the suspect had a blood test). This becomes a significant case that those teenagers use this to blame cannabis.
I’m also a 21-year-old teenager, and I love cannabis. It is more safe and helpful for your body than the alcohol and cigarettes that those teenagers love. Thai teenager is easy to instigate to believe in something. They talk about cannabis like they have experienced before. They always said that cannabis can overdose and make you die😂. Yes, you can have a harmful effect, but you can’t die, lol.
