Thanks Tayo for bringing us another fresh perspective of the rasta community in Jamaica 🇯🇲. I'm not a rasta but I 've always loved them, I have a brother who is. They are highly spiritual, they love nature and want it in tact. They understand their African connections and hope to one day set their feet on the continent they were once pulled out from. I hope to visit and enjoy this off grid life. I paused when they took you to their worship place, you got to be careful with that, it's not for everyone, what they do there is capable of taking them into a spiritual reams, very deep.

Absolutely inspiring to see the Rastafari way of life in action-a true reflection of living in harmony with nature. The philosophy they embody resonates deeply with Shaiva values: simplicity, unity with the Earth, and the belief in the sacredness of all beings. Dreadlocks, seen in both Rasta and Shaiva traditions, represent a deeper connection to nature, while natural herbs like cannabis are honored as plants of wisdom. In a world consumed by capitalism, it’s refreshing to see a community so committed to sustainable living, spiritual growth, and freedom from material excess. Much respect to these timeless values!

It is classified as both a new religious movement and a social movement by scholars of religion. There is no central authority in control of the movement and much diversity exists among practitioners, who are known as Rastafari, Rastafarians, or Rastas.
