This was an amazing video. I'm so tired of all the fake superficial things of society. This video makes me want to take my following Jesus to the next level and become Rasta. I was born on earth day and have always felt such a strong connection to nature. I want this in my life.
Thanks Tayo for bringing us another fresh perspective of the rasta community in Jamaica 🇯🇲. I'm not a rasta but I 've always loved them, I have a brother who is. They are highly spiritual, they love nature and want it in tact. They understand their African connections and hope to one day set their feet on the continent they were once pulled out from. I hope to visit and enjoy this off grid life. I paused when they took you to their worship place, you got to be careful with that, it's not for everyone, what they do there is capable of taking them into a spiritual reams, very deep.

Absolutely inspiring to see the Rastafari way of life in action-a true reflection of living in harmony with nature. The philosophy they embody resonates deeply with Shaiva values: simplicity, unity with the Earth, and the belief in the sacredness of all beings. Dreadlocks, seen in both Rasta and Shaiva traditions, represent a deeper connection to nature, while natural herbs like cannabis are honored as plants of wisdom. In a world consumed by capitalism, it’s refreshing to see a community so committed to sustainable living, spiritual growth, and freedom from material excess. Much respect to these timeless values!
This video made me yearn to be one with them, to be there. Their respect for their wimen is top notch next level and I love this culture even more for that. These BM are kings ❤

I am grateful for your introduction to Rastafari and its way of life! Expressions like "we are one" or "plants, animals, your sisters and brothers!" resonated with me, reminding me of my connection to everything .Thank you so much🙏
Can I correct you Beloved Rastafarian ism is not a religion but a way of life in accordance with the natural laws and original Universal laws. Please stop saying Rasta is religion❤
You know, I'm so happy to hear you say this because I KNOW the reason why I felt spiritually guided to wear my hair as lox (my antennas), and although I try to live my life in a more nature-oriented rhythm (like some rastafarians) I simply do not practice any form of (systematic) religion of any kind, so I do not call myself a rastafarian.💜
🤔 depends on who you ask I guess. Rastafari, sometimes called Rastafarianism, is an Abrahamic religion that developed in Jamaica during the 1930s. It is classified as both a new religious movement and a social movement by scholars of religion. There is no central authority in control of the movement and much diversity exists among practitioners, who are known as Rastafari, Rastafarians, or Rastas.

I'm Senegalese Muslim but I admire the Rastafari for their defiance and strength. Like the rastas, many African nations like Guinea🇬🇳, Senegal🇳🇬 , Benin Ghana, Togo🇹🇬, Guinea-Bissau🇬🇼, Burkina Faso🇧🇫, Mali🇲🇱, Cameroon🇨🇲, Sao tome en Principe🇸🇹, Congo🇨🇬 and recently Mauritania🇲🇷 all incorporate yellow, green and red of inspiration from Ethiopia's cherished resistance against colonialism from the Italian invasion after independence.

I don't understand, what's stopping them?? 🤔
This is so thoughtfully curated. Tayo Aina is truly talented. A 30 minutes video felt like 3 minutes or less. That's how you know a great video.
BRO ONE THING I DO APPRECIATE TAYO FOR IS HE'S PATIENCE AND HIS CONSISTENCY MAKING SURE THAT WHATEVER HE DOES REFLECT POSITIVELY IN HIS VIDEOS AS ALWAYS!
SO BIG UP TAYO KEEP IT COMING 💯 AS USUAL?

It's ironic that they are getting in sync with the Earth in order to "return" back home but Africans are moving away from being in sync with nature. Great job as always, Tayo.
This is the comment. God save Africa. Politics is about to drain her.
Exactly the comment I made 😂
Africans are now westernised 😅
When they come to Africa, they'll be so disappointed 😞
Our home is Ethiopia. They have not changed, but understood.

Just look at how people are so contented with the little they have, they don´t worry about Ferrari, blings etc
They choose this way.
What good is a Ferrari in the Bush?
This video made me yearn to be one with them, to be there. Their respect for their wimen is top notch next level and I love this culture even more for that. These BM are kings ❤
What a FANTASTIC video! I literally paused the Nollywood film I was watching, to watch this. Loved this so much. I enjoyed seeing & hearing their views on the world, what being a Rasta is/means to them, and seeing their way of life. Ambesa is cute too!
Got a deeper meaning to life. Love the part where he said "... everything deserves to live"
Thanks Tayo. I appreciate you ❤️
Tayo is a fantastic storyteller. One of the best in Africa. I have a few friends who are Rastafarian and sometimes attend their celebrations. I respect the lifestyle and have learnt alot from them...
I am grateful for your introduction to Rastafari and its way of life! Expressions like "we are one" or "plants, animals, your sisters and brothers!" resonated with me, reminding me of my connection to everything .Thank you so much🙏
This is deep
The Rastafarians have a unique way of viewing life.
One Love (Inity) ❤
Can I correct you Beloved Rastafarian ism is not a religion but a way of life in accordance with the natural laws and original Universal laws. Please stop saying Rasta is religion❤
You know, I'm so happy to hear you say this because I KNOW the reason why I felt spiritually guided to wear my hair as lox (my antennas), and although I try to live my life in a more nature-oriented rhythm (like some rastafarians) I simply do not practice any form of (systematic) religion of any kind, so I do not call myself a rastafarian.💜
Ya man!Rastafaria is NOT a religion! Its a way of life.

@@worldgonemad1152that’s a the wiki and AI definition. But, no Rasta will say it is a religion and that should be respected. I live in the other Jamaica. 😂 Brooklyn, NY. My ex-hubby is a Rasta and even though they have influences from Ethiopia’s Coptic Tewahedo Religion which may predate Christianity (I am pretty convinced but that doesn’t make it factual). It’s still disputed, but they have good reasons to not consider this a religion. I understand how the world classifies it, but much like all else, folks should be allowed to self-identify and determine their own classification. I understand why it isn’t a religion. But, I also understand why the rest of us are so gung-ho on labeling things and it needs to stop.

won't call it strange religion, but more of a spiritual movement.. Respect and Love Alone :)
Rigion are. More or less cultist. This living is a humanist Spiritual movement tha attracts all pure in heart. Can't join Rastafari or be a memnber. It's a spiritual calling. Muslim Buddhist Gnostic Hindu Christianetc. Rastafari is like the ocean , it never calls you,but whoever fells the need to enter it's their free will. Not s Religion.not weed smokers etc. curators or creation.
Iam a Christian but with a strong rastafarian attachment. My house all decorated with rastafarian flags and also have many matching head gears and t-shirts about rasta beliefs..As Morgan heritage sung, "you don't gotta be dreaded to be a rasta,it is the divine conception of the heart".Old school raggae is real food for my soul..Jah bless you all brothers and sisters.
It's not possible to be a true Christian and Rasta.
@StrongnBeautiful I am Christian but I admire the rastafarian philosophy.More so Jesus is a strong figure in rastafarian faith and they also follow Biblical scriptures only that they transcribe them to fit their rastafarian doctrine. There is nothing wrong being a Christian and loving the rastafarian culture
There are some Rastafarians in Jamaica who don't smoke weed or Ganja..just natural and conscious living...
@charmaineeverett4488. 💯. But guess what this fact won't be seized upon. Also the majority of jamaicans DO NOT SMOKE.

I don't agree with you calling Rastafari strange. Rastas have always been way ahead of time in terms of health and lifestyle. Now everybody into ital. Nothing strange about that
Yeah his choice of language is a little questionable at times. Not always neutral especially when people let you into their life…
Maybe Jamaica will bless him with a touch more consciousness.
He calls it mysterious as well, which lets me know to him and his culture, it is strange and mysterious, hence the reasons for his research.
Nigerians have unusual ways of using some English words. Maybe that's why.
NOT ONLY HEALTHY ITAL EATING....BUT THE DECLARATION THAT GANJA IS THE HEALING OF THE NATION.....AFTER COUNTLESS PERSECUTION FROM THE SYSTEM.
TODAY ...THE WORLD IS SELIING MEDICINAL MARIJUANA.....AND PEOPLE ARE BEING CURED.

The best answer i heard. “For him, Rastafari is not a religion, Rastafari is a way of life.” What a saying. Throne! 💚
25:42 "There is almost no real food in the west"...This is very true.
Of course it's not real food in the west..how can you feed all this millions of people with real food???its impossible....find a solution....its impossible for the world to live like this otherwise everyone will run to live like that....But sadly times and people move forward we can't stay at the same place forever....This people have no job to go to them don't have to think how the plane flying how internet and mobile phone function how a car will be running how to study the weather satellite. So this kind of life its ok for a very small group of people but most of the world don't want to live in the bush. We used to live like that 1000 years ago but somehow we ddnt stay to live like that...
@@albania8982You are probably correct in that not everyone wants to live "in the bush". All Rastafari don't live in seclusion...if we did, the world wouldn't knw so much about the culture. We have mansions and drive cars...fly on planes just like you...some of us even fly the planes. Yes, there are many things Rastafari can...and will do.
