Some of this video had to be trimmed due to Copyright restrictions. Sorry! For future videos, I'll need to pause a bit more often. I was enjoying to song a little too much apparently! 🤣
I started doing reaction videos a while back with editing and all, copyrights are absolute hell man. Far as I know you can maybe get clear of it by submitting no monetization on these videos? I know that sucks not making money off of views but it could save you some headache and getting blocked. Eventually you'll make money off of ads if you get big enough. Either way keep it up!
@ShadeReactsLive the song starts Kisune, Kitsune. Watashi wa Megitsune. Fox, Fox. I am a female fox. Megitsune is also slang for a manipulative woman. The song is saying we are pure hearted Maidens not manipulative.
I agree, I like a reaction with one or two versions of the same song. However, I fear for his next video if Shade is going to react to four versions with the different girls doing their birthday performances of Headbanger, as we will have the Yui version, one of two Moa versions, the Momo version and one of the many Su versions. A.) It could be a very long video, and B.) There will need to be a lot of editing to get the reaction uploaded.
Megitsune is pretty consistently the number one fan favourite song from their entire catalogue. It's also their most performed live song at 382 live performances as of their last show. They perform Megitsune at almost everyone concert they do, usually early in the set, and it always goes off. Megitsune is one of Babymetal's most lyrically complex songs, being primarily a girl power anthem that pushes back against the social expectations of women in Japanese culture and asserting that they are capable of more than what society believes. In the song foxes are used as an analogy for women as both are viewed as being cunning and deceptive in Japanese culture, but they reject the proposition that women are intentionally deceptive, instead arguing that the demands placed on women require them to be actresses and hide their real feelings. The song is full of references and nods to traditional Japanese culture, such as the use of the folk melody "Sakura Sakura", while also subverting those traditions by incorporating them in to a metal song. If you want an in depth explanation of the meaning and cultural context behind the song, I highly recommend Professor AJ Hartley's video about the meaning of the song - ruclips.net/video/eFZ_dTIc13c/видео.html The original music video was released in 2013 and was probably filmed early that year, so Su would have been 15, and Moa and Yui would have been 13. If you want to see them when they were really young, check out the music video of Doki Doki Morning, which is their first song, released in 2011. The music video was filmed at Asagaya Shimeigu, which is a Shinto Shrine dedicated Amaterasu Omikami located in the Asagaya district in western Tokyo. The video was filmed on the Noh theater stage, which is one building in the shrine complex. It is a popular place of pilgrimage with Babymetal fans visiting Tokyo; I went there last year when I was over there for a Babymetal show and it was well worth a visit. For anyone that wants to see the stage, it's only open for viewing on Sundays. When Su-metal pulls the tanto out of her microphone, she says "Otome wa... nametara ikan zeyo" which means "maidens shouldn't be underestimated". It's actually a quote from a well known Japanese gangster film called "Onimasa". The line is said by a Yakuza boss's daughter who has been through some shit and has had enough. Legend 1997 Apocalypse was the concert held on December 21st 2013 to celebrate Su-metal's 16th birthday. The 1997 does indeed refer to the year of Su's birth. This show was about six months after the music video. Su has turned 16 the day before, and Yui and Moa were 14 at this stage. I was in the pit at PIA for this performance and the crowd was the loudest and most hyped I've ever seen for this song. If you're doing Headbanger, do the music video, the Legend 1997 version, Moabanger, and Momobanger. Do check out Hanabie if you get a chance. They're awesome in a completely different way to Babymetal.
In the original MV, it was done at an actual shrine. I forget the name of the the shrine but it is in northern Tokyo. It is now a shrine for BABYMETAL and you will always find fans there.
Great triple reaction and personally I really like the idea of watching the official video and one or two very different live performances. They were not chanting "sorry". They were singing in Japanese, so it was "sore" (OK it sounds similar) which is a sort of call of encouragement shouted at festivals, think "go go go". 'Megitsune' is a big fan favourite, often coming top in fan polls and it is the song they have played live more times than any other. It was the first single they released after splitting from the parent group Sakura Gakuin to become an independent band in their own right - that was in 2013 - this video was released when Su-metal was 15, Yuimetal and Moametal were 13, about to turn 14. Legend 1997 was December 2013 the day after Su-metal's 16th birthday, Yui and Moa were both 14. 'Megitsune' is arguably the song that showcases better than most what BABYMETAL are about and one that truly reflects their Japanese culture the best starting with the traditional instruments (shamisen or koto, you decide which) in the intro and the lyrics about women being compared to foxes (kitsune - which also explains all the fox masks in the video🦊) which, in Japanese mythology, are able to shape shift and take human form in order to deceive. It is also a bit of a push back against the traditional female role in Japanese society I think - or maybe it is - they are becoming more assertive, less subservient, but they are also praising and celebrating the women who have played that role over the years for their strength. They are saying that women wearing their make up and hiding their true feelings ("crying at heart, smiling at face") are not trying to deceive anybody, they are simply trying to please everybody - so they are not deceptive kitsune (foxes), they are pure hearted megitsune (female foxes or vixens) - and they are strong. The melody used in the breakdown with the pig squeals in the middle of the song (and in the intro when they play it live) is the exact melody from the very well known Japanese folk song called 'Sakura Sakura' (Cherry Blossoms). That was Yui and Moa looking in at Su behind the fox masks ... and yes they were having fun, there is a commentary video where they said they were just having fun and playing and that the corridor was very slippery so Moa slipped and fell at one point. When Su pulled out the tanto (short blade) from her microphone she said "Otome wa ... nametara ikan zeyo." (Maidens ... shouldn't be underestimated). The last part of this is a famous quote from a Japanese gangster movie said by the daughter of a gang boss. Much of the video was shot on location at the Asagaya Shinmei Shrine in Tokyo. This has become a place of pilgrimage for BABYMETAL fans visiting Tokyo. The guys at the back wearing their kitsune masks and waving the traditional instruments about were dancers with the lady who did the fan dance's troupe.
Ah, finally! Your comment to "Megitsune" explains all details so well, I don´t dare to do a quick write up of it myself. Couldn´t do it as well as you do.
@@Grington300 thanks for the information as always!! I have come to look for your comments on these videos and im always glad to have you here guiding me! I have been talking to my wife about a trip to Japan (before I knew about BM and all of this) and this is really building my business case! If we go, I MUST visit the Asagaya Shinimer Shrine. This is so cool
@@ShadeReactsLive I'm happy to be here and to provide even a little help when I can. I'd love to visit Japan, my brother went recently and he loved it there.
There are so many good things to say about your reaction here I'm not sure where to start. So that said this format you did today that kind of covers the history of Babymetal was a blast. I had no idea it ran 35 minutes long. And I give credit to you and Babymetal for that. You have a really natural, unaffected way of doing your reactions. You really share how the music is hitting you. For we who have heard these songs many times before we at least myself, I get to experience them new again through your eyes. Five stars on the multiple song format. You got the 1997 right as the year Su was born. One of the keepers of the lore in Babymetal reaction comments said that they have performed this song live over 380 times. I don't tend to play the same song back to back like this so it was such a treat seeing and hearing particularly how Su's voice has matured. She has always been amazing but now she really pulls of the rock queen roll so naturally. The PIA Arena concert was a two night affair. Black Night and Clear Night. Black Night Momo was still not officially a member of BM. An announcement was made at the end of Black Night about her "induction?". On Clear Night all the ladies had new costumes and Momo now had her microphone. The Headbanger binge is a great idea and yeah many great performances. A couple thoughts that may help you. Unlike Megitsune the Headbanger MV is very different from the live. Due to the abundance of great live performances I'd personally suggest the following (and I'll include the links). Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse: ruclips.net/video/YjjWZpf_jSs/видео.html This one is celebrating Su's 16th birthday. Then Babymetal - Headbanger (Moa Version / Legend M): ruclips.net/video/s-oK5KdjSQ4/видео.html This is celebrating Moa's 20th. birthday. And finally Headbanger (Momoko ver.) (Legend MM 2024 Live): ruclips.net/video/19nntDDbYdg/видео.html And this one is celebrating Momo's 20/21st birthday (that too is a story). Here you will start in 2014 and will finish in 2024 and get all (except Yui's) birthdays which as a celebration of member's birthdays is one of the roles Headbanger plays. In the birthday versions the person whose birthday is being acknowledged gets to take over on lead vocals. Witch is really a special treat. Headbanger audience participation goes to a next level. I won't say anymore than that. Thanks so much for doing this on Christmas. Just came home from a lovely meal at the in-laws and what a dessert to settle in with a full stomach to a medley of Babymetal. Merry Christmas to you and your family. 🤘🎄🦊🦊🦊🎄🤘
@@robote7679 thank you again for your kind words 🤘🦊 I’ll keep my non-edited style going sense people seem to like just the raw reactions! Tomorrow I’ll be doing the Headbanger reaction and I plan to use these links! Hope you are able to catch that video as well
Im fighting copyright issues in order to get it released right now. Also, because it is about an hour long it takes ages make any edits and reupload! No worries though, its just a process. It'll be out today im sure
What you said is so true, the energy of all of them together with the crowd is very genuine and it's insane to hear the loudness of the chanting! Never felt a feeling like this if not within BABYMETAL, it's part of their magic 🔥🦊🤘
If you do this one read the translation of the introduction, turn it up really loud and strap yourself in for the ride of your life as the girls and the Kami band blow the roof off the building 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great great reaction and thanks for listening to us. Indeed BABYMETAL is always more impressive live, not for nothing they have been awarded several times for best live performances. However, some of their MV's are iconic and deserve a look, like Karate, Doki Doki Morning, IIne. No matter MV or live, their visuals and general level of production is always impeccable. About Headbanger, another one of their essential songs, my personal favorite is still the Legend 1997 one, but everybody has their own favorite. I personally like this 2-3 videos reaction format (and I'm sure BM fans don't mind watching the same song three times in a row), so if you want to keep it, my suggestion would be "Headbanger Legend 1997", and then "Headbanger Moabanger ver." and "Headbanger (Momoko ver.) Legend MM 2024 Live" The last two have really touching moments and you can see Moa and Momo lead singing, which is not an usual treat. But if you think is better for your channel to make separate videos for every song, we are going to watch them anyway! 🤘 About other groups, I'd like to add Nemophila, a very good metal band of talented Japanese girls. They just released few days ago a badass version of "Jingle Bells Rock" really worth the watch. Plus they are big fans of Babymetal and have made a great cover of Megitsune. Looking forward to your next videos, thanks again and keep your kitsune up! 🤘🦊
You just missed them in Oklahoma City last month and they wrapped up the 2024 World Tour in Anaheim, CA on Dec 3-5, I was there. Expect them back around this time next year. They usually tour the states somewhere between Sept and Dec each year. Fair warning: Their shows sell out super fast. They normally play smaller venues in the states, 2000-5000 capacity, and their fans typically travel all over the world to see them. Presale and same day sale often sells out within hours, if not minutes, in larger markets. Only the Des Moines show failed to sell out this tour, it was still packed, however, I was there too. Anaheim had to add extra dates because it kept selling out in an hour. They ended up doing three back to back shows because of the demand. If you want VIP, you have to be early as well. As said, the international travelling fans snatch those up really quickly. Also expect to pay about 300 a ticket for VIP level, 80 or so for general admission. I saw them eight times since Sept 2023, and while the smaller venues lack the massive production seen in their live videos, nothing else is any less. They are as good live as you would expect. Note that they typically perform a 60-75 minute 10-12 song set. Their shows are short but intense. Every show I have been to, I left out of breath and exhausted. They only do longer setlists and high production performances for Legend level Arena shows like the ones you have been watching. Other than a handful of performances (The Forum in LA 2019, upcoming O2 in London in May 2025), nearly all of those are done in Japan only. Moreso than any reaction or trip through learning about them, the real experience is that live in person performance. For me as a fan, there is a time before Sept 24, 2023, and a time after. I did not fully understand until that day in Milwaukee, WI. Its a testament to their live performance, being a Minneapolis resident, that I have now traveled to Milwaukee WI, Des Moines IA, Madison WI, San Francisco CA, and Anaheim CA just to see them perform over the last 18 months. Travelling to Japan for a Legend show is on the list of "must do's" over the next couple of years. BABYMETAL made me start travelling again. I look forward to booking flights and hotels this coming year for the inevitable 2025 World Tour, the European leg of which is already scheduled for May with Poppy.
And, the only reason Des Moines didn't sell out was because it was the day before Thanksgiving! We skipped turkey with the family to have Metal with the Angels!😂😂 ❤
Nice reaction! I love this song so much, and this is a true example of how much Su's voice has matured, comparing the 2013 version with 2023, not to mention that the instrumental part of the song has improved more and more over the years. This version from PIA Arena is my favorite. Now react to the song Ijime, Dame, Zettai including the version from Sonisphere 2014, as it is one of BABYMETAL's most important performances considering its worldwide projection.
@ShadeReactsLive IDZ is my favorite Babymetal song! About anti bullying. Translation of the lyrics are heartbreaking yet inspiring and powerful. Like a lot of their stuff and even this song! This one was about girl power basically. The fate of a lady is to bloom then grow old and fade away. "We smile at face but cry at heart, never showing our tears" is one of the lines in Megitsune.
Great reaction!!! Personally, I do like this format since we all can make comparisons between all the performances. Also watching them growing up make me feel like a proud parent. 🤣 "Megitsune" is their 5th ever single. The song is mostly about female empowerment, how women (in Japan at least) are seen as a deceiver/actress. Which kinda related to Japanese folklore about foxes, where they're known to be shapeshifter. Anyway, keep on diving into the Foxhole!!! 🦊🦊🦊
If you want to see them when they were at their youngest "Doki Doki Morning" was their first song/MV they recorded it at the ages of 12,11,and11 while they were still apart of the Jpop idol group Sakura Gakuin.
What I supprise i just finished watching my One edition of BabyMetal World Tour 2023 to 2024 tour final Legend 43 The Movie on Blu-ray . Then, put RUclips on and see this 😁Happy Christmas to me and blab as much as you want about the BabyMetal. No complaints from me . rally liked watching 3 from different points in their careers over the years . 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
FYI, AJ Hartley has a whole series interpreting BabyMetal lyrics, both the translation and the cultural context. He's a Shakespeare professor who lived in Japan for a time and married a Japanese woman, and the Japanese Mother in Law comes in clutch pretty often. XD Really illuminating stuff. You don't have to understand what they are saying to enjoy the songs, as they are literally designed that way. But sometimes a song that really resonated with you will resonate even more when you truly understand what they are saying. Also, love the format. Most of the old guard will. I can't speak for the uninitiated, but Fans(tm)? This is our jam. 🤘🦊🤘
How soon before there's a Babymetal poster on your wall in the background? 😂🤘 ❤ next request of mine is 2014 Sonosphere Ijime Dame Zettai. Best anti bullying song ever!! Also this is arguably the biggest live performance of their career in terms of proving themselves internationally and it was huge for their popularity. 55,000+ plus crowd.
Love your profile pic 😂 also yeah I might get a poster for my whiskey room. I’m contemplating trying to do. Reaction in that room because it’s actually nicely decorated instead of my boring office but moving my pc and cam/microphone might be more trouble than it’s worth lol
💀 ⚡ 💕 🍑 / 🦊 ⛩ Nice job on the deep dive. Love this format. The different versions of 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' are a great idea for a follow up, just be aware you'll probably run into copyright issues with some of those. The pronunciation is more like "meh-gee-tsoo-neh" (メギツネ) The "ts" is like the end of the word "hats". It's a festival song, rather than a fight song. "Sore!" means "Go!", and is often heard shouted at festivals. They're also comparing "maiden like foxes" to the deceitful foxes in Japanese folklore. Great deduction on the meaning of LEGEND 1997. You might be the only reactor to actually figure that out on the fly. : ) It was held the day after Su's 16th birthday. She was born on December 20th, 1997.
Tbh I’ve run into copyright on every release I’ve done so far. But since I’m not monetizing it really doesn’t affect me. The reason I’m concerned about certain claims is YT will actually remove content if there are too many claims so I’m being cautious and trying to pause at least once every 60 seconds!
Talking about the girls stamina, I just watched a video of a girl ( I believe 22 years old ) that learned all the choreography and tried to dance for an entire BM concert ( Legend MM 2024) and after 4 songs she was dying. They basically just wrapped up a more than 100 concerts tour this year and they've been doing this since they were 11 and 12.
Hell yeah dude, amazing reaction! This tops the night more than my Ravens crushing the Texans 31 - 2 🤣. Really cool that you did this format and got to experience this absolute classic across the past decade. Also, don't worry about "how long" your reaction videos are. We fans are always happy to see Babymetal reactions. You've done a great job and been entertaining, so keep it up! *Fun facts:* Megitsune is the song performed the most by Babymetal, ~380+ times to date. It is also a difficult song for Su to sing vocally, and she often uses this as her sound check/warm-up. *Song:* The lyrics are powerful and deep - "Megitsune" (Female Fox) can be a traditionally derogatory term labeling women as "deceptive". Girls have always been actresses, "smiling at face, crying at heart" to live up to society's double standard. Babymetal empowers girls to be themselves, as the "gentle Japanese flower", "the Ideal Woman" (choreography to put on makeup) is changing with the march of time. "Women's fate is to blossom", then fade, but they will never disappear, so "shoot up your fireworks". "Maidens... Are not to be underestimated" [[ Pulls out microphone knife ]]. *On the performances:* You guessed correctly, 1997 is Su-metal's birth year. Legend 1997 is her 16th birthday show in Dec 2013. Megitsune was released earlier that year. Pia Arena MM was the 2-day show "Babymetal Begins - The Other One", in Apr 2023. "Black Knight" was day 1 (this performance), and Momometal was announced as the official 3rd at the end of "Black Night". The following day is "Clear Night", Day 2, with Momo donning a mic (just like Moa), and an outfit change to the translucent bits, along with The Kami Band changing outfits as well. *For Headbanger:* If you want to do a long-form like Megitsune, here are the "must-see". _Official MV:_ Released 2013 _Legend 1997:_ The "classic" live version. _Moabanger:_ Moa takes lead for her 20th birthday special - Legend M, 2019. Beware, heavy copyright issues with this one, so logo/pause often, etc. _Momobanger:_ Momo takes lead for her 21st birthday special - Legend MM, 2024. Some copyright issues with this one too. Format suggestion: You may want to just split the reaction into 4 parts, so if 1 video gets hit, it won't ruin the rest, but up to you how you wanna do it! 🤘🦊🎄
@@Ganimal83 love to hear that! My cowboys are just watching the playoff contention from the sidelines 😂 For the headbanger reaction, those are the exact 4 performances I planned to listen to! That’s perfect. And for copyright reasons, I’ll just have to deal with it. I don’t really plan or care to monetize any of my videos in the future so I’m not that worried. I’m mainly concerned of them trying to take down videos so I’m looking to be cautious!
OK, that`s my turn)))). You did the BABYMETAL reaction? Get ready! The whole world is knocking on your door🤣. And BM`s RUclips Guardian Grington300 will never leave you alone)))). This sort of videos is usually watched by fans like me listening to BM through out the day, so it is not too long. One hour reaction? Hmmmmm, let`s call it one BABYminute. I wonder if next time Islay will sing with Su😻
Haha! Yea Grington has been incredible helpful! And you’ll be lucky if you ever see Islay move a muscle back there lol she will sit there for 8 hours while I work and not move. She is just at peace behind me 🦊🤘
ah, Megitsune, pretty much a signature song for them, they have performed it more than any other of their songs, unfortunately the bigger shows have their shenanigans edited out, but luckily sharp-eyed fans notice some time ago that Moa always does some kind of funny business trying to get Su and Momo and Yui to laugh and has been successful numerous times, there are some great comp videos of the part where it happens and bless Moa's heart for coming up with something new every time. You are in luck dude, they skipped Texas this year, and that means they will be back there next tour, which will probably be announced on Fox-Day april 1st, another US tour which might just hit Dallas, Houston, and maybe Austin or another city, so yeah I think most of us would love to watch you react to at least 6 different versions of Headbanger...lol no matter what path you take down the fox-hole, it is an amazing journey, so don't be overwhelmed by our enthusiasm , we just feel like we discovered something special and feel the need to share it with the world. So , yeah I have seen a hundred different bands in my many years of concert going, and I'll tell you this, the 6 best concerts I have ever seen wert BABYMETAL and if I could trade in some of the hundreds of bands I've seen for more BABYMETAL, I would in a heartbeat, because like it or not they ARE the best Live band on earth. #notacult #bestcultever and oh one more thing, Megitsune is the hardest song for Su, so of course she uses it to find her levels and her tone in rehearsals.
Not wrong about the crowd loving this one. When they did the last "Sore!" part after the section where Su talks to the crowd in the most modern version when I got the chance to see them in Toronto a couple of years ago, the crowd just became a churning sea. It was amazing.
Another great reaction! It’s a little early but eventually it will be great to see you react to “The not so extensive guide to Babymetal” on the channel “A Fox Song”. Excited to keep watching your journey!
Excited to see you continue your Babymetal journey, glad you’re enjoying them! I just discovered them about 8 months back and they’ve definitely became my new favorite band. I enjoy this format too, where you check out the music video and lives back to back so I’d be down for more like this. Some really fun earlier songs of theirs you could check out that all have music videos and live performances of would be “iine” “doki doki morning” and “uki uki midnight”. Those have been heavy in my rotation lately cause they just put me in a great mood. Doki doki morning and iine were the first songs they released I believe. I think you’ll like them, especially iine with how crazy all over the place it is, one of my absolute favorites! Anyways merry Christmas! Thanks for the entertainment! Cheers!
Suzuka Nakamoto (the lead vocal of BABYMETAL) has a very long career in the entertainment scene in Japan. She started modeling at the age of three. At the age of four, she became an image girl for Bandai's children's cosmetics. (Bandai is one of the world's leading toy manufacturers, such as selling Gundam plastic models.) And she made her major debut as a singer by the largest listed entertainment company in Japan when she was only 10 years old. BABYMETAL was created to make use of her talent in 2010(When she was 13years old).😍
Crazy to even imagine how good she would be. Chosen for her talent of modeling and acting, and she excelled as a powerhouse metal vocalist... what a life she's living haha
There’s another performance of this song that I would consider must-see, and that’s from the Metrock 2015 festival. It has the most insane crowd I have ever seen. Please check that one out as well!
Excellent triple reaction, thanks! "Megitsune" is one of their most loved songs and their most played live one: 382 times... and counting! It was released in June 2013 being one of their biggest hits. And yes, it's one of my very TOP favorite songs. The song was composed by Norikazu Nakayama (aka Norimetal). He's involved in some form in almost all my favorite BABYMETAL songs. And that can't be a coincidence. 😁 It took 36 demos to Takehiro Mamiya best known as Yuyoyuppe (or Yuppemetal), the song's arranger, until Kobametal (their producer) was 100% happy with the final result. It may sound crazy but this is why "Megitsune" is a masterpiece. In my opinion, the music video is a masterpiece. Its locations have become pilgrimage destinations for fans around the world: - The stage where they are performing is called Nohgakudo (Noh theater) at Asagaya Shinmeigu Shrine in Tokyo. This is a stage where music and dances are performed during festivals. - The shrine right before the breakdown with the orange-ish torii gates is the famous Fushimi Inari-taisha in Kyoto. The girls were so happy that the director traveled to Kyoto just to film that sequence. I am lucky enough to have visited both locations during my trip to Japan (among other incredible places) last February / March. You are right, Su-metal struggled a bit when she was younger with the lower notes. "Megitsune" is also a pretty demanding song vocally and Su uses it to check her voice during rehearsals and soundchecks. I will never get tired of listening "Megitsune". 🤭 🤘🦊
Another good reaction. Your dog is cute! Su has such a beautiful vocal that you don't need to understand it, just feel it... But the songs have very deep and interesting lyrics that are worth reading. In terms of choreography, Moa and Momo are very talented and it is admirable. The musicians on the instrumental part are also incredible. And the people involved in the stadium too, congratulations!
@@ShadeReactsLive Islay is so cute that it's impossible not to notice her, hahaha. What breed is she? (sorry, I'm Brazilian and my English is from Google Translate.)
Legend 1997 - concert for Su's 16th birthday; she was born in 1997. Legend1999 - concert for Moa's and Yui's 16th birthday; both were born in 1997. Legend S: Baptism XX - concert for Su's 20th birthday. ("S" for Su) Legend M: Babymetal Arises/Beyond the Moon - concert for Moa's 20th birthday. ("M" for Moa) Legend MM - two concerts, in 2023 and 2024, for Momo's 20th and 21st birthdays, respectively. ("MM" for Momo) Lgend 43 - theatrical movie released just a few weeks ago, taken from the final shows of the 2023-2024 tour, and the only Legend show not related to the members' names or birthdays. It is also known as Legend Shisa. Shisa is a divine guardian from the mythos of Okinawa, where the concert was held (a statue of the Shisa also features in the stage set). The Japanese characters for the word "Shisa" are also used to represent the numbers 4 and 3, hence the name of the concert. By the way, the word they are chanting isn't "sorry," it is "sore" (pronounced "so-reh"). In this particular use, it is a word that has a happy or celebratory meaning similar to "hooray" or "hey." It kind of goes hand-in-hand with the overall theme of the song, which is a commentary on how society expects women to put on a positive and happy face, even if they are hurting inside. Some people consider this "false face" that women put forward to be deceptive, which is why they are compared to female foxes, as foxes are viewed as sly and deceptive creatures.
I am not sure if this is a general Japanese thing but as you mention, western bands usually talk to the audience between songs. Babymetal does not do that. In order for the girls and the band to have small breaks they have these extended intros to the songs. There are certain songs like Megitsune that give Su the opportunity to directly speak to the audience which she usually does in the country's language. At least she lears two or three sentences. It's these things and the fun they have on stage that make babymetal such a unique experience.
The opposite, Japanese acts talk to the audience FAR more than western acts. Babymetal (specifically Kobametal) wants Babymetal to be an intense energetic experience. burn up all the energy to the end.
I'm enjoying a lot your reactions, so I'm waiting for more soon! People already recommend plenty of songs so I'm not going to do the same. I will recommend another thing, a video called "a not so extensive guide to BABYMETAL". In that video you have a lot of information about the band if you are really interested in their history. I don't know if that fits with the content you wanna do, but I find that video so interesting for new foxes. Really happy to see new people enjoying the first steps into Babymetal and you justt scratched the surface. There are still plenty of songs, shows and moments of pure joy to come. Kitsune da o 🦊
Thank you for the reaction. I like the format you are doing. Small correction: The video of the PIA Arena performance is from the first night, during which Momo was still an "Avenger". Only at the end of the show she was announced as an official member. How can we tell? During this perfomance Momo did not have a mic, as the "Avengers" were dancers but not singers during their time with Babymetal. Question: Black Night / Clear Night These big productions in Japan are almost all at least 2 night shows. Each night with a different song set (though some songs are played both nights). Also they tell a story, which not only spans over the nights but through all these big performances. Question: Crowd Interaction Crowd interaction is the most important part at Babymetal Live shows; only with the fans, Babymetal is complete and we all form "The One" (the Girls, Band, Production, Stage team and the Fans). This the producer Kobametal put high on his list, when he formed/created Babymetal: - Formed around Su-Metal because of her vocal strength and commanding stage present - But additonally being flanked by "Energyzer Bunnies", who sing, dance (interpret the song through their choreo), but most importantly interact with the crowd, giving queues and encouragement Where to go next? You already have some song suggestion lined up, but I second one notion put forward already, to look at the guide to Babymetal. For now I would recommend to do the shorter version from channel "Omajination", which gives you the basics and does not go too deep into the lore. The lore is deep and can be a bit distracting in the beginning. But this is not to say to never look it up. Have fun and happiness falling deeper into the Foxhole.
Gonna leave you a little list of some of my favs for future reactions in no particular order. (KBI) will indicate that there is a kami band intro version, where the Kami band (the band that plays with BM at live shows) gets to show off some skills before the full song starts. Love the reactions so far. Glad you are enjoying BM. Also there is a guide that is very useful by "A fox Song" called the not so extensive guide to Babymetal that will give you some good info. And like another comment I saw stated, no Babymetal video is too long. Road of Resistance (PIA Arena 2023 is my fav version) Kagerou (KBI) No Rain, No Ranbow Akatsuki (Budokan black night) Rondo of Nightmare (KBI) Night Night Burn Pa Pa Ya Headbanger Yava (KBI) Babymetal Death
Accidentally deleted my previous comment This was the 1st night of 2 sold out nights, the next night was Clear Night with a whole new set list and costumes. Metal Kingdom LIVE was the opener for Clear Night (and what an opener don't miss it - For The Fox God channel
The fan dedication is the best. In the early days when they were just kids you couldn't help but cheer them on. The mix of metal and choreo in tutu's was so weird but they were clearly putting their whole hearts into every single performance and you just couldn't help but cheer them on...and the louder we cheered, the harder they went, and the harder they went, the louder we cheered. As to video formats, just do whatever feels the best for you. We've all seen these videos a hundred times, and we'll watch them a hundred times more...what's fun here is watching you realize they're as awesome as we all already know they are. Just do whatever format you want so long as it stays interesting to you. Plan someday in the future to watch a few whole concerts though. It's not great for reactions, but there's an extra magic when you see how long they manage to keep up the energy levels. With their shows it feels like every song rachets the hype in the room another notch higher, and by the end you're feeling all wired up and exhasted for them at the same time.
do as many versions as your heart decires and the pauses are fine when you have things to say, its way better than to talk over the song and you miss something
Great reaction! In case the other 189 comments hadn't mentioned it, what you are watching is a flagship performance in Japan. Their touring performances are very scaled down and only to a few thousand people in the venue. BUT, they are starting an arena tour next year in UK and Europe, it's the first time they announce it as an arena tour. So maybe they'll start playing larger venues. But even in the small venues, the energy is there too. Oh, one more thing, if you do go to a BM concert, if you want to interact with other fans, plan on spending whole day there. Get there in the morning, people will already be in line probably. You'll get to meet and talk with other fans and I tell you, it will be an experience you will remember. This way you can get tips from the regular attending fans on strategizing getting merch, where to stand, what to do and when. It's an awesome experience. If you want to get an idea of how a day at the concert goes, I recommend watching Xiaouiris' ytube video where she talks about her first time to a BM concert with her husband recently.
More banger collabs you should check out. “Bloodywood -Bekhauf featuring Babymetal” the official music video. And “Babymetal -Ratatata featuring Electric Callboy” official music video. Both are collab of the year contenders for 2024 for sure!
I like "THE ONE" for your wife. ☝️ It is a song for fans, but even if you are not a fan, it is an inspiring song that conveys a sense of the world. 🤘🦊. 2016 THE ONE (OFFICIAL) 2021 THE ONE STAIRWAY TO LIVING LEGEND 2023 THE ONE Unfinished ver. THE FIRST TAKE
Nice reactions. I will watch hours of Babymetal. Su does just get better all the time. The old joke was Su practiced singing on a treadmill. When they started out one of the things they wanted to do was make metal easy to get into. Especially for ladies like themselves at the time. Remember how young they were. They didn't listen to metal back then. They were in a jpop group. Yeah, things change. Taking you wife to go see Babymetal would be perfect to Babymetal. The song has a lot to do with cultural traditions. Japanese for them but not letting those traditions hold you back. At the beginning of the video, you see Yui and Moa unwrap the traditional outfit Su is wearing. Setting her free. Another version of this video is Babymetal reacting to Babymetal. You get to see a lot of their personalities come through in it. And Moa does start singing their songs when the music comes on. And she still doing it today. Just talking about Ratatata and Moa started moving to it. Just one of the many reasons folks love Moa. Yui and Moa are close. So, close they became one name MoiMoi. There's an actual story to that. They were asked what this Finish word means, and they said it stood for Moa and Yui, MoiMoi. From what I understand it really means hello or Goodbye. Well, that took. the fans started referring to them as MoiMoi ever since then. Sadly, Yui stopped performing with them in 2017 and officially left the group in 2018 due to health issues. Which still remain unknown to this day. Headbanger is a great song with many versions to it. And any fan of Babymetal will watch every version. One of them is a lot more different than the others. He he lol. Your wife will like that one. Babymetal is the side door into metal. Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.
Su indeed said that this is one of the hardest songs for her to sing. Here‘s a little suggestion in case you keep the three song format: Perhaps it would be interesting if you actually did take a look at the lyrics before the third one. Maybe it would give you somewhat of a different angle, allowing you to evaluate e.g. how the choreography integrates with the lyrics. But it may interrupt your flow while recording.
@@MacTaipan love this! I’ll be doing a 4 song format tomorrow for Headbanger, I’ll look through the lyrics before the 3rd and 4th. I agree that would be interesting
They weren't tired yet because it was opener of the show ;) If you go with multiple versions of a song you can enable subtitles on one of them, half of the times they are not particularily amazing, but Megitsune actually has great lyrics, this song does hits different when you know what it is about.
@@rickwagner-My comment was refering to him noticing they we sweating a lot on 1997 performance, but got so good physical condition, that they were not breaking a sweat in PIA Arena. But no, it was just the beginning of the show, they don't defy the laws of physics yet ;)
Awesome reaction. Don't mind the length. Watching an older live and a new one is a good way to see their evolution. Starting with the music video will work well in some cases (ex: Headbanger, Karate, Iine, Doki Doki Morning, Ijime Dame Zettai), not as well in others (ex: Distortion, Starlight, PA PA YA , Shanti Shanti Shanti). Some songs don't have a music video and some have a music video that is just live concert footage overlayed with studio audio, in which case you're better off skipping it for a fully live performance. When you do Akatsuki, you've been getting a lot of requests for 2021 Budokan. I recommend also watching 2014 Budokan first to see 16-year-old Su perform the song as well as to see the guitar solos that aren't on screen in the 2021 recording. Follow those up with Akatsuki Unfinished (a piano version) from Legend 1997. For Headbanger watch a regular performance of the song first. The one from Legend 1997 has been a go-to for reactions. Then I recommend watching Headbanger (dubbed Moabanger by fans) from Legend - M (Moa's 20th birthday concerts in 2019) followed by Momobanger at Legend - MM (2024). With Legend 1997 you'll get to see them perform the song young with Yui and with the other two you'll see Su, Moa, and Momo singing lead as adults. [Side note: Momo was a support dancer in 2019, but was not one of the support dancers at Legend - M.] For Meta Taro, I recommend watching a performance from Wembley or Tokyo Dome in 2016 before watching the special MomoTaro version at Legend - MM.
@ good catch. By the way Megitsune means female fox and the song is an ode to traditional Japanese women in a male dominated culture and society. The Fox Spirit of the Japanese Shinto religion is a messenger for the major deity Inari and is a shape shifter considered to be deceiving and clever. The lyrics say that women are like female foxes and while they are actors (for self preservation) they are not deceiving. A very deep meaning (on your own take a look at the lyrics from the PIA ARENA performance and he light will come on😉)
@@ShadeReactsLive To complete the info about the song, the kick where she pulls the knife off the mic, says "Name tara i kanzeyo" "Maiden shouldn't be underestimated", it quotes a popular Japanese gangsters movie (I think is called Hana-bi)

Thy Bro! If you make the Rondo of Nightmare, I'll send you a private version that can't be found on RUclips with Mikio Fujioka. Everyone does Legend 1997, but it's too accurate because it's here at Budokan, the Kami band also improvises more and Suzuka also plays with her voice.🤘🦊🤘
A p.s. I wanted to add to my comment. An interviewer once asked Moa what her fitness routine was? Moa replied: "Being in Babymetal IS my fitness routine."
I just binged all your reactions while bored at work this morning. Thank you, I look forward to more. As a Moa stan, I can't wait for your to get to the Black Babymetal songs but I do think there are more baseline reactions for you to do. Headbanger and Road of Resistance are some core songs to react to that have so many different live performances to watch. My personal favorite version of Headbanger is from Babymetal Returns - The Other One from Makuhari Messe.
Oh that's fun, the spectacle of the large shows is jaw dropping. However the smaller venues allow for more interaction which is always a good time. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@ShadeReactsLive Suzuka has been singing on stage since she was 10 years old. Before Babymetal, she sang in theater musicals, sang songs for anime, and was a singer in the J-pop group Karen Girls. At the age of 5, she was a child model and appeared in commercials. She has been in show business almost her entire life. Her older sister Himeka Nakamoto was also a singer, in a J-pop group.
@@ShadeReactsLive Suzuki's mother owns a business that deals with gemstones and jewelry. Rumor has it that Suzuki's mother provided the jewelry for Babymetal's outfits.
Just a little correction, Momo was born in 2003, not 2004. Legend MM has the "20 night" to celebrate the last day of her being 20 with Momobanger, following with 21 night on her birthday.
More young and fun from BabyMetal, try iine official mv. After that you may want to complicated song such Tales of the Destinies. They did many sub genre (mostly heavy metal sub genre). Power Metal, Hardcore, Metalcore, Black Metal, etc. What genre you most like?
@ShadeReactsLive Try Akatsuki, their best Power Metal song, IMO. Or Syncopation, their most "Japanese Rock" song. Or Metal Kingdom, very good chanting Metalcore song. All for live version. Enjoy BabyMetal.
All the lights are computer controlled and the songs are timed out. That's how they do all the color changes at just the right time and the complex patterns.
I'd definitely recommend turning on subs where you can. Or reading the lyrics like with Headbanger. Some of their songs are definitely just party fluff lyrically, but for others the lyrics are pretty meaningful, like Megitsune here.
Great reaction! The triple reaction format is very nice, and I´m totally ok with watching half an hour of reaction to certain versions of a BABYMETAL song, Keep ´em coming! 😄 I already know most of the different versions of all BABYMETAL songs (I still don´t know all versions available on YT!), and I know them very well. Binge watching BABYMETAL live performances is a rather normal thing when you just learned about them. I learned about them in 2016😉 There are two exceptions from this rule, and these are "up down left right BBAB", a song they NEVER performed live, and "Tales Of The Destinies", a song they performed live only ONCE. I know them, of course, but there´s no "different" version I know of 😉 "Megitsune" is a staple song, you´ll see it on the setlist of nearly every concert they performed, or will perform. It´s the song the played live the most, almost 400 times now, and counting. Its a treat to watch performances of "Megitsune" at the smaller venues they played, because they do some stage shenanigans at the end of the bridge, the part with the melody of "Sakura Sakura" (Cherry blossom, an ancient Japanese nursing rhyme), when they perform at small venues. "Omajination" has a number of fancam compilations showing the "Megitsune Hengao" of several world tours. Your jaw drop on seeing the crowd at PIA Arena MM was fun to watch. But believe me, you haven´t seen anything yet. At Legend MM you have an even bigger crowd to watch. Not to mention the performances at the Tokyo Dome in 2016 😉 In earlier times they named their two-evening-concerts in Japan "Red Night" and "Black Night" most of the time. It fitted their colour scheme at that time, and signified the different setlist per evening. At PIA Arena MM things went a little bit different, because of Momo. She said in an interview, that for her the "Black Night" was exactly that. Dark, dominated by anxiety. Something in that iine. She didn´t know what to expect, when the fans learn that she will permanently take Yuimetal´s spot, from the next evening on. She wondered if she would be accepted by the fans and such. After hearing all the cheers from the crowd, hearing the relief the crowd expressed with the cheers, the next evening appeared clear to her, light, and full of joy. Like there were dark and heavy clouds the evening before, and with the second night the sky cleared up, and all things shined in a different light. I wondered about that a little bit, as she was accepted by the fans already, at least by most of them. You could see this in certain performances, where she interacted with the crowd. They loved her. Yeah, she couldn´t interact with the crowd the same way she does nowadays, she kept respectful distance to Su-Metal and Moametal all the time, but she hyped the crowd together with Moa and Su, and the crowd answered her. There was some discussion over the years, when the topic came to "should an Avenger become the third full member?". And there were people who said that Momo wouldn´t fit, that they don´t like the idea of her taking Yui´s spot, that Riho or Kano would fit better, yada yada. Even such ridiculous things like "she´s too fat!". Maybe these things worried her big time, we don´t know for sure. You could bet that they were well aware of this, all the time, and that they discussed that internally. Personally, I was sure that she would take the third spot one day. You should know, I´m a Yuistan, for me, there is no other person on this planet being as Kawaii Metal as Yuimetal. She´s a legend, and rightfully so. But watching the performance of "Road of Resistance" at The Forum LA in 2019, I became a Momostan, too. It was so frikkin´ obvious, that Momo would be the ideal person to take Yui´s spot. There was a visible bond between her and the crowd, and you could see her contagious smile being mirrored by the crowd. A very special moment. From that moment on I awaited the announcement, that she will become full member. Maybe you will do a reaction to this performance of RoR one day, and see yourself. With "BABYMETAL Begins - Clear Night" we saw a "new" BABYMETAL. They were so full of energy, joy, having fun, like we haven´t seen them in a long time. Heck, they even revived "Iine!", and it was so much fun to watch! 😄 Somebody once said in a comment "Momo clicked in like a missing piece of a puzzle we never knew was incomplete". So true! For the "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" triple reaction you could do the MV, - Headbanger (Legend 1997)(2013) Eng Subs (from "For The Fox God", you should stop at 5:46, because there are several seconds of crowd cheers at the end, but the song ended long before the video ends), and - BABYMETAL - 「ヘドバンギャー!!」 [Head Banger!!] Live at Makuhari 2023 [字幕 / Subtitled] [HQ] which has its lengths, because they had to integrate a rather loooong, moving stage into the song. But it has some crowd participation to compensate you with 😉 After some other songs you could do a triple reaction to Headbanger sung by Yuimetal (only fancam available, but there´s an enhanced version which is pretty okay), Moametal, and Momometal. P.S.: please excuse the Wall Of Text, and certain grammar mistakes. English isn´t my mother tongue 😉
@Wolfpack94487 thank you so much! I’ll be keeping the longer format for now, I enjoyed it. I plan to do a Headbanger reaction tomorrow! And please, there’s no need to apologize! I appreciate the wall of text. Each bit of additional context helps me enjoy the songs and performances even more!
First of all, the double/triple reactions are a cool idea, you get to compare how different the eras are. Hard to believe these ladies have been doing this for like 14 years and still so young right?! Again I do recommend you watch that Guide video from A Fox Song, it will help you a bunch understanding their history and lore, trust me we will enjoy watching you watch it. I still would suggest Karate, another double or triple reaction to that. The MV is really good and the Budokan 2021 version is on For the Fox God channel I think. Being you choose a video from Legend 1997, I have to give you heads up, whenever you react to Babymetal Death you MUST watch the Legend 1997 version, it will blow you mind. Cya next time! EDIT: I had to add I love your dog chilling in the background LOL! The PIA shows were 2 nights, Black Night and Clear Night. Black Night was before Momo was announced as the full 3rd member, Clear Night was Momo's first official performance as a member of BM. Both nights were very emotional for the girls and the fans, a long time coming for Momo and her hard dedicated work with BM. Remember I said BM was meant for seeing live? Most of their songs are made with many fan interaction involvement through, chants, call backs, cheers, and lots of movement. I finally saw them live in the US this past November with my wife, unforgettable sir, can't wait until next time. One Last EDIT: If you do Headbanger, there are 5 versions, yeah I know that's alot: The music video, the original live versions mostly done by Su of course. Now Yui, Moa, and Momo all have versions called Yuibanger, Moabanger, and Momobanger, each one celebrating a birthday milestone where they sing half of the song as lead. All are amazing of course, unfortunately Yui's version isn't a high quality recording. Maybe do a double reaction with the MV and a Su version. Then a triple reaction with Yui, Moa, then Momo.....Momo's is wild dude, wait and see, hehe.
Thank you! I plan to keep this format for the most highly requested songs for sure. Also for headbanger, I think I’m going to do 4 parts (MV, 1997, Moa, and Momo) because that is what I’m seeing the most requested.
@@ShadeReactsLive hehehe, I don't know if its to late, but 'the night of 15' EDM remix of Headbanger they did at 1997 is radically different and totaly awesome as well, it could be used as a nice curve ball interval after Su's main 1997 performance LOL. Is 5 versions too much for us, nope lol...but it's all up to you. the night of 15 version is fun and different though.
Glad yr using legend 97 so much - imo it's still one of the best they ever did - and they sing a lot of pretty unique songs here yr not likely to hear anywhere esle really (cover songs etc - which they're REALLY good at). Megitsune is just SO good no matter how they do it (although I'd LOVE to see Sue actually sing the Sakura part). Great reaction!
Well seems our favorite part of this song is the same place. Just hits when the instrumentals just cut out. If you haven't recorded yet, for Headbanger, start with Legend 1997. abr metal has a good version titled Legend of 1997, followed by Moabanger and then Momometal version. There are some of Yui however, they are all fancam videos on her version. I would also suggest you check out Electric Callboy, they have collaborated with Babymetal, actually what got me into listening to Babymetal. They put out their collab and been listening ever since. Also managed to catch them in Cincinnati last month where I drove 4 hours to go see them. If they come back to the US next year, you'll want to get in on the pre-sale as otherwise you may not be able to see them, or you'll be paying an arm and a leg to do so. I believe all but one or two shows on this past US tour were sold out and two stops even added a second date which also sold out. For Electric Callboy, I would recommend checking out either Hypa Hypa or We Got the Moves.
@@ShadeReactsLive Yeah, they actually released it just a few days after I had seen Electric Callboy live at Sonic Temple this year. You could always start with that one, but you'll get more from it if you wait and check out at least one of the other ones I listed, in my opinion anyways.
TECHNICAL NOTE: Don't stop the videos until the end. The performances are not over when the singing ends, there is frequently more to the performance that is not just singing. Enjoying watching your journey down the Foxhole. It a long enjoyable and life-changing journey. Also a correction BMC = Bring Moa Chicken.
Well this is one of the elements in this song that fascinates Su. This is Enka a traditional kind of singing. It is one of many different traditional Elements in this song.
You're definitely doing it a really cool way by reacting to the timeline of sorts! It's wild to me the stage presence they had as kids, though I became a fan late 2022, I went through all their stuff and sort of got to experience their career up to now retro style. I have to elaborate a bit more on my Dallas show last year! So my wife is amazing and made me a pair of the iridescent shoulder armor they currently wear. We were VERY close to the stage and Moa noticed and laughed and gave us a wave. They truly know how to make the fans feel special! And yeah the amount of relentless infectious energy they give out every single time, even now in their mid 20s, is absolutely insane! You'll notice there's always catchy choruses, crowd chants and choreo meant for the crowd to copy. They're built to make the fans part of the show, which is just so fun! They've said in interviews recently they really play off the crowds energy. They have to match and beat the crowds energy like a game haha. And yep being cute was a big part of what the founding idea was. They even use purposeful younger cutsey voices now when they perform their oldest songs. It's so unique and insane and awesome haha!
Also, getting right at the stage is only possible in the smaller venue shows. Dallas was standing only 4000 sold out. Bad thing was we were crushed like sardines haha. They call for walls of death and mosh pits a lot. We had to edge over to the side. You pay a pretty penny for up close though, and it's recommended to get to the venue 12 hours before showtime. Yep the fans are insane haha Oh outfits! Yeah their outfits have almost always included some sort of armor. Their lore involves them being warriors of sorts, battling to save metal. So cool and fun!
This is so sick. My wife is not into Metal at all lmao. I showed her the Kingslayer song in the car to the gym on Tuesday and she just gave me the polite “oh this is nice” smile and tone. 😂 so when they come to Dallas next I’ll just third wheel with you guys 🦊🤘😂
@ShadeReactsLive cool thing for me is, after I got obsessed with them, my wife told me she was very familiar with them and liked them haha. She isn't as insane about it though, and has a lot of sensory troubles like fibromialgia so the concert in Dallas with the crush really didn't do well for her. Next time she said seats only haha. But being close and getting to watch the entirety of the choreo is so mezmerizing! The video edits of their big shows always have too many edits and cuts to see the full choreo. Good marketing haha wanna see the whole thing? Gotta go live 😁
👍👍👍An awesome triple reaction🔥🔥🔥. I like your reactions. Since you are looking to expand your fan base, may I suggest adding the following 3 female bands to your reactions. BAND-MAID and LOVEBITES from Japan, and THE WARNING from Mexico. Then there is NIGHTWISH from Europe. They are all excellent and have large and passionate fan bases. They will keep you busy thru 2025😊. 🦊 🖖 ❤
They had two years of concerts as babymetal before Legend 1997. The Legend 1997 show was the day after SU's 16th birthday. The PIA show was the first as the new Babymetal which is why it's named Babymetal Begins.
@kevinhiggins7547 We have to break the first few years of Babymetal accordingly. They had already their own Stage handle, long before they had the official support of Amuse. They already had to work with their own money even if for this money Su and Yui and Moa had to open department stores and malls. But they had to prove to Amuse that they had an potentially profitable idea and a chance to make money. We have to differentiate between Sakura Gakuin and Amuse.
So the Legend's 1999 I,D,Z shows don't count as concerts they did separate from Sakura Gakuin. Granted it was their biggest none festival show at the time with Legend 1999 being the first show after SU's graduation from SG
@kevinhiggins7547 1999 and 1997 were all more or less the same entities. They went durectly through Amuse, BMD Fox and Toys Factory. At that time they were basicaly a Partner Project of Sakura Gakuin. They had no longer any control on these projects, since the same people that controlled their Cash flow were the same that controlled Sakura Gakuins Cashflow. Koba came with this propoasal to Amuse not to Sakura Gakuin and Amuse didn't ask, it ordered. They simply had to transfer the member of the Hard Music Club from the Budget of Sakura Gakuin to the new Babymetal Project. Zhey were both independent Entities in the Pocket of Amuse. In the Background these processes had to start early since it had to be insured that the necessary people were paid. For Amuse this was a part of their Day to Day Business, since they are a Talent Agency.
@ thanks! I don’t really seek monetization for this sort of content. I just don’t want YT removing the video. 😂
The triple format with the original MV and then 2 live versions is the best way to go. Thank you, and Merry Christmas.🦊🦊🦊
Glad you liked it!
If you want an in depth explanation of the meaning and cultural context behind the song, I highly recommend Professor AJ Hartley's video about the meaning of the song - ruclips.net/video/eFZ_dTIc13c/видео.html
The original music video was released in 2013 and was probably filmed early that year, so Su would have been 15, and Moa and Yui would have been 13.
After a Babymetal concert, if you followed Su-metal’s instructions to jump and dance along, you can skip three days of gym 😂

@Wolfpack94487 Thanks🙂

@@Grington300 I was born in Japan, (Okinawa - dad was military) but have never returned. So, it’s always been on my list!

About other groups, I'd like to add Nemophila, a very good metal band of talented Japanese girls. They just released few days ago a badass version of "Jingle Bells Rock" really worth the watch. Plus they are big fans of Babymetal and have made a great cover of Megitsune.
Looking forward to your next videos, thanks again and keep your kitsune up! 🤘🦊
I agree, their cardio has got to be that of a god.
When she pulls out the blade she's saying "Never to be underestimated!"
Great to know! I’ll make sure to be on top of it for the tickets!
You forgot Wembley 2016 😉
BM will start doing arena concerts in Europe in 2025, It's on their website.
@@DaniloSouzaReacts okay yes, I keep hearing about the Sonisphere 2014 show and this song keeps getting brought up! I’ll definitely do this one!
I actually really like the multi-version reaction, I watch a LOT of Babymetal reactions, and hardly anybody else does that. It's original, and great.
Glad you like it! I have enjoyed reacting to the different evolutions of the band. Its a lot of fun!

Personally, I do like this format since we all can make comparisons between all the performances. Also watching them growing up make me feel like a proud parent. 🤣
"Megitsune" is their 5th ever single. The song is mostly about female empowerment, how women (in Japan at least) are seen as a deceiver/actress. Which kinda related to Japanese folklore about foxes, where they're known to be shapeshifter.
Anyway, keep on diving into the Foxhole!!!

Nice job on the deep dive.
It was held the day after Su's 16th birthday.
INSANE!
Hell yeah dude, amazing reaction! This tops the night more than my Ravens crushing the Texans 31 - 2 🤣.
_Official MV:_ Released 2013
_Legend 1997:_ The "classic" live version.
Format suggestion: You may want to just split the reaction into 4 parts, so if 1 video gets hit, it won't ruin the rest, but up to you how you wanna do it!

ah, Megitsune, pretty much a signature song for them, they have performed it more than any other of their songs, unfortunately the bigger shows have their shenanigans edited out, but luckily sharp-eyed fans notice some time ago that Moa always does some kind of funny business trying to get Su and Momo and Yui to laugh and has been successful numerous times, there are some great comp videos of the part where it happens and bless Moa's heart for coming up with something new every time. Suzuka Nakamoto (the lead vocal of BABYMETAL) has a very long career in the entertainment scene in Japan.
She started modeling at the age of three. At the age of four, she became an image girl for Bandai's children's cosmetics. (Bandai is one of the world's leading toy manufacturers, such as selling Gundam plastic models.)
And she made her major debut as a singer by the largest listed entertainment company in Japan when she was only 10 years old.
BABYMETAL was created to make use of her talent in 2010(When she was 13years old).😍
Crazy to even imagine how good she would be. Chosen for her talent of modeling and acting, and she excelled as a powerhouse metal vocalist... what a life she's living haha

It took 36 demos to Takehiro Mamiya best known as Yuyoyuppe (or Yuppemetal), the song's arranger, until Kobametal (their producer) was 100% happy with the final result. It may sound crazy but this is why "Megitsune" is a masterpiece.
In my opinion, the music video is a masterpiece. Its locations have become pilgrimage destinations for fans around the world:
- The stage where they are performing is called Nohgakudo (Noh theater) at Asagaya Shinmeigu Shrine in Tokyo.

Su has such a beautiful vocal that you don't need to understand it, just feel it...
But the songs have very deep and interesting lyrics that are worth reading.

The musicians on the instrumental part are also incredible.
And the people involved in the stadium too, congratulations!

Legend1999 - concert for Moa's and Yui's 16th birthday; both were born in 1997.
Legend S: Baptism XX - concert for Su's 20th birthday. ("S" for Su)
Legend M: Babymetal Arises/Beyond the Moon - concert for Moa's 20th birthday. ("M" for Moa)
Legend MM - two concerts, in 2023 and 2024, for Momo's 20th and 21st birthdays, respectively. ("MM" for Momo)
Lgend 43 - theatrical movie released just a few weeks ago, taken from the final shows of the 2023-2024 tour, and the only Legend show not related to the members' names or birthdays.

Question: Black Night / Clear Night
These big productions in Japan are almost all at least 2 night shows. Each night with a different song set (though some songs are played both nights). Also they tell a story, which not only spans over the nights but through all these big performances.
Question: Crowd Interaction
Crowd interaction is the most important part at Babymetal Live shows; only with the fans, Babymetal is complete and we all form "The One" (the Girls, Band, Production, Stage team and the Fans). This the producer Kobametal put high on his list, when he formed/created Babymetal:
- Formed around Su-Metal because of her vocal strength and commanding stage present
- But additonally being flanked by "Energyzer Bunnies", who sing, dance (interpret the song through their choreo), but most importantly interact with the crowd, giving queues and encouragement
Where to go next?
You already have some song suggestion lined up, but I second one notion put forward already, to look at the guide to Babymetal.
For now I would recommend to do the shorter version from channel "Omajination", which gives you the basics and does not go too deep into the lore. The lore is deep and can be a bit distracting in the beginning. But this is not to say to never look it up.
Have fun and happiness falling deeper into the Foxhole.
Reaction video is called "A Quick BABYMETAL Guide for the New & Probably Lost Fans" from the channel "Omajination"

Road of Resistance (PIA Arena 2023 is my fav version)

This was the 1st night of 2 sold out nights, the next night was Clear Night with a whole new set list and costumes.
The capacity of the PIA Arena in the last video is only about 12,500 - which for Babymetal is only a small to medium crowd 🤣
More banger collabs you should check out. “Bloodywood -Bekhauf featuring Babymetal” the official music video. And “Babymetal -Ratatata featuring Electric Callboy” official music video. Both are collab of the year contenders for 2024 for sure!
I highly recommend writing all of these down because BM just has too many bangers to remember lol. I don’t know if they even have a single bad song!

Great idea to react to the MV and live performance.
Amazing song, they killed it every time.
Neither of those was the show opener.
Megitsune was the eighth song at LEGEND 1997, and the second song at PIA Arena Black Night.
[Side note: Momo was a support dancer in 2019, but was not one of the support dancers at Legend - M.]
For Meta Taro, I recommend watching a performance from Wembley or Tokyo Dome in 2016 before watching the special MomoTaro version at Legend - MM.
Hell yeah, thank you!

This is a live show in Japan for you. Nothing compares. US shows are great but you don't get this in the US.
1997 was the year Suzuka was born and the concert was in honor of her 16th birthday.
Ayy I love when my intuition is right haha. Thanks for the comment!
A very deep meaning (on your own take a look at the lyrics from the PIA ARENA performance and he light will come on😉)
Appreciate this. I could definitely feel that this was an female empowerment song. They rocked this
@@ShadeReactsLive To complete the info about the song, the kick where she pulls the knife off the mic, says "Name tara i kanzeyo" "Maiden shouldn't be underestimated", it quotes a popular Japanese gangsters movie (I think is called Hana-bi)

Glad I can keep you entertained while bored at work! haha
try Fox Festival version. They are 18yo there :) Its small venue without screens etc. But its my favourite :) And cool crowd talking there.
Oh that's fun, the spectacle of the large shows is jaw dropping. However the smaller venues allow for more interaction which is always a good time. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@ShadeReactsLive Specifically Red Fox Festival ... they had an all female audience, which makes this female empowerment song even more meaningful.
Suzuka born 1997. she is 27 now. (was 25 at Pia Arena)
Moa and Yui - 1999. They are 25 now.
Momoko - 2004. She was 20 this year. (at Legend MM)
They have been at this over half of their life. Thats amazing!
Literally born for this!
Typically heavy metal, but honestly I don't even know anymore! lol
I learned about them in 2016😉
There are two exceptions from this rule, and these are "up down left right BBAB", a song they NEVER performed live, and "Tales Of The Destinies", a song they performed live only ONCE. I know them, of course, but there´s no "different" version I know of 😉
"Megitsune" is a staple song, you´ll see it on the setlist of nearly every concert they performed, or will perform.
Not to mention the performances at the Tokyo Dome in 2016 😉
In earlier times they named their two-evening-concerts in Japan "Red Night" and "Black Night" most of the time.
Somebody once said in a comment "Momo clicked in like a missing piece of a puzzle we never knew was incomplete". So true!
For the "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" triple reaction you could do the MV,
- Headbanger (Legend 1997)(2013) Eng Subs
(from "For The Fox God", you should stop at 5:46, because there are several seconds of crowd cheers at the end, but the song ended long before the video ends), and
- BABYMETAL - 「ヘドバンギャー!!」 [Head Banger!!] Live at Makuhari 2023 [字幕 / Subtitled] [HQ]
which has its lengths, because they had to integrate a rather loooong, moving stage into the song. But it has some crowd participation to compensate you with 😉
After some other songs you could do a triple reaction to Headbanger sung by Yuimetal (only fancam available, but there´s an enhanced version which is pretty okay), Moametal, and Momometal.
@@ShadeReactsLive Thank you very much! Looking forward to "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" ! 😁
Hahaha! I already recorded the 4 version! I'm battling copyright stuff right now to get it released. But should be coming out later today

The Sakura part caught me off guard! It really cool
Yes! I actually have Electric Callboy on my list with Babymetal. The song is ratatata? That’s what I write down so I’ll go with it lol
@@ShadeReactsLive Yeah, they actually released it just a few days after I had seen Electric Callboy live at Sonic Temple this year. You could always start with that one, but you'll get more from it if you wait and check out at least one of the other ones I listed, in my opinion anyways.
I like that idea. Doing one of the Electric Callboy songs, then the collaboration in the same video
Su should be elected gov. of California or New York ASAP.

Merry christmas from Canada bro. Babymetal is fire. :)
Well shoot, hope I haven’t missed anything so far!
Moa is the energizer bunny, still going full steam even after the concert.
Go back to “Doki Doki Morning” Their first official song, It’s still my alarm tune 👍🏼😂
Yep the fans are insane haha
Oh outfits!
@@ShadeReactsLive haha sounds like a good plan 😅

Fun fact, to maintain her stamina and sharp vocals, Su constantly works out on a treadmill while singing.
