  • 2023 was a quiet year for ResMed; however, in early to mid 2024, we should see the release of the new WHITSUNDAYS mask. The mask will be similar to ResMed's best-selling AirFit N30i & P30i.
    Download The SleepHQ iOS app - cpap.review/sl... . Our SleepHQ web app can be accessed on any device so long as you have an internet connection and a browser (ie google chrome, firefox, safari etc)

    Up until now, users were required to upload their cpap SD card data via our web app (sleephq.com), but we just released a world-first feature that enables users to upload their SD card data directly via our new SleepHQ iOS app.

    I've used the ResMed Swift FX headgear assembly for 15 years give or take and I've been very happy with it's performance as a side and back sleeper. I also toss and turn a lot due to 6 major spine surgeries since 2016 and i can't remember the last time I had a leak. I also got my last headgear (minus the nose pillow) to last 15 months before replacing. It wasn't pretty and and it was past due but I i made it last! 😂

    • @lesliehyde
      @lesliehyde 7 месяцев назад

      I'm a long die hard fan of the Swift FX nano. It fits so much better yet with less material for the headgear than the N20.
      Unfortunately as it's wearing out and I'm not a fan of the nasal pillows from the Swift FX line (went too far up my nose) but adored the GoLife pillow mask from Phillips (didn't go as far), I'm looking at switching to the Phillips Nuance. Hopefully it will work out for me as even though I'm about 200lbs total body weight for a female, my face overall but especially my head and nose are fairly petite.

    No doubt memory foam is partially being offered on a mask like the N30i so that you have to replace the cushion more often vs simply washing it. Silicone-only cushions work great with minimal leaks if you use a little CPAP Gel to create more of an airtight seal.
    I switched over from the Resmed N30i nasal cushion to the Dreamwear nasal cushion because the Dreamwear cushion doesn’t need that Resmed QuietAir™ diffuser filter part that’s hard to access and clean properly, so it develops black gunk in the vent holes. The Dreamwear nasal cushion is all silicone and easy to keep clean, so you can replace it much less often.

      Some people are sensitive to silicone masks and they break out. But I agree with you they're terrible for cleaning and using for long periods

    • @LonaWalburn
      @LonaWalburn 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@NotMyActualName_Ah yes, a good reason to stay away from it if there’s a sensitivity to silicone.

    • @Thermalions
      @Thermalions 8 месяцев назад

      Forgive my ignorance. Does the Dreamwear cushion fit the N30i frame, or did you change over to the Dreamwear frame and cushion (which presumably works with the Resmed Airsense/Aircurve 10 machines)?

    • @LonaWalburn
      @LonaWalburn 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@ThermalionsIf I remember correctly, the frames are not interchangeable, but the neck straps are. I have the Dreamwear frame and Dreamwear neck strap with plastic arms so that it doesn’t slide up the back of my hair as much. I would’ve been happy staying with the Resmed N30i cushion if it had been made of all silicone and no little vent filters that are too hard to clean. And yes, the Dreamwear frame works with the Resmed Airsense/Aircurve 10. Hope that helps!

    I have the n30i and found if I leave my hair down the back strap slides around more than if I put my hair up with a clip. I’m a side sleeper, sometimes a stomach sleeper. Sometimes I wake up & my mask is totally off-no clue how. The pillows that go into your nostrils some help to keep it from riding up on my nose. I’ve had it 8 months & it’s a real pain but wearing it keeps me awake at work in the afternoons!

    My dad gave me his Resmed 7 years ago. He has since died and the thought of using his felt weird. I also figured that the technology had evolved as we are now regularly receiving images from the Mars Rover. Well after 7 mos navigating the medical health system in Massachusetts, I just received my new CPAP! Sadly it is nearly exactly the same model as the one I already have despite some improvements to the mask strap system. $250 due to copay even though we pay $1k per month for insurance for a famous 3. Used to pay $2k in NYC. So I can’t complain too much.

    I wanted to like the tube-on-top frames, but found they created a balding line across the top of my head and as a side sleeper, the frames left lines on my face and they easily leaked. Other than that, they were perfect! Seriously, I wish they would have worked for me since I did like the tube on top feature.

      Small changes that made a huge difference for me. I switched out the head gear straps that came with the Resmed for the Dreamwear one. This one holds in place better and fits more comfortably. I switched from the N30i nasal cushion to the P30i nasal pillow after 2-3 days my nostrils weren't sore and the Pillows hold in place when sleeping on my side. I found I have little to no air leak with them.

    Nice to see improvements but really, manufacturers are starting to release masks like Gillette and Schick release new model razor blades each year.
    At first they said two blades was better than one. Then three blades was better than two...
    Now they have an exfoliating leading edge. It's a joke on us the consumer.

    I am a Army Vet 72-75 and am retired on fixed income. I now live in TN and the Crossville
    Buckeye place says I have to use my machine for 4 hours a day, or Medicare will take it
    away from Me. Supposedly I will DIE from a heart attack if that happens. My Marine Corp
    son who served in Afghanistan and the VA gave Him his.
    I was on 3 meds for the past 40 years and now I am on 15. Sleeping pills from DR do not work and mixed with over the counter sleep aids only works after 2 days of no sleep.
    I cannot sleep with ANY mask on, The pillow only makes inside of nose sore and hurt
    to touch. I was given a second mask for free and this one Your nose sits on top of mask.
    My nose hurts just from the 4 hours mandated, and my upper lip touches the mask and
    it bothers me terribly. I cannot afford one hundred dollars just to try a mask, and then have
    it do the same thing. My Wife also has the same machine and many masks that I have tried and do not work for me.
    The 2 masks I own both have very poor quality in that the straps do not stay in place
    and move around. I have a ok seal though, but I need to talk to My primary care Dr.
    This is the first time I have ever written to anyone about my cpap problems and I hope
    someone here can give me some advice. President Bush Jr did an executive order
    stating Veterans can use medicare or VA Health Care, Not both. VA would give me the machine outright and as many masks as I needed until one finally worked.

    Avoid ResMed. They had a major recall on their machines due to issues of some of the units bursting into flames. They brought over a replacement but it didn't last long. Their mask is one unit and quite fragile, and I broke 2 of them when I dropped them. Being one unit doesn't allow for the cheaper option of a part replacement. I next went for the Philips which are very reliable and it's lasted for years. And the mask, when dropped, comes apart upon impact resulting in no breakage. Also, the Philips was cheaper than the ResMed.

      I don't know how much control a creator has over object placement overlays. If not you, then it's an IT programming thing they didn't think all the way through. After being diagnosed with a deviated septum, the memory foam is completely out of the question. if I get my normal Medium size, it squeezes and puts pressure on the side of my nose and causes me to grasp for air. If I go to a Large size, well the bloody thing just leaks and pisses me off.
