Now this guy knows how to make a video. He didn’t try to act cool by cussing the entire time, he stayed with the subject at hand only and didn’t discuss a bunch of unrelated stupid crap. Really good video. I like it when people get to the point and get it done explaining along the way. Huge thumbs up
Just wanted to say if no one else has. The LMM Duramax EGR cooler coolant hose is different. The delete kit for the LMM has a "U" shaped coolant hose to feed back into the heater core. Otherwise, great video and everything is spot on. Thank you!
This is an AMAZING video! High quality camera, very informational. Doesn’t show every single little detail which is nice because it explains what to take out and what order to take things out, and you don’t have to try to skip through someone spending 5 minutes to take off a bolt- which is always super annoying. That’s a thumbs up for me!
Good how to video. When I did mine I removed the body cab bolts and the core support bolt from the passenger side and jacked up the cab a couple inches. Gave me a lot more room to get those hard to reach bolts out and the down pipe pretty much falls out with the extra room!
This video was amazing; been in the learning process of learning my duramaxes and this was very straightforward with amazing technical details and insight, time for some slight weight reduction
Pretty good vid. Some recommend replacing up pipe bolts. The temp cycling weakens them. Supposedly the ARP are rated higher and less likely to snap. Yep use copper antiseize. I know this video is a few years old, but the routing of the coolant line for an LMM is a little different than the LBZ here. It comes with a U hose that attaches to the line right next to it, instead of coming down across the engine.
Great videos, ! Last week a Ford off the frame. This week Chevy dilemma! You say what a struggle it is, but don’t show us you fussing and cussing! I think you should show us that part also. 😱 Are you going to make one with the finish on the install of exhaust? And the tunes with the test drive. I am not bashing you at all ! Just like to watch the in depth work you are doing! Awesome job! Thank you for the videos!
Deleting the truck without a tune will not change too much, especially if using the blocker plate option. The only reason most choose to tune the truck after the EGR removal is to remove the "P0401: Insufficient Flow" code you will ultimately get. If you're doing the full thing, including higher flow 3" downpipe and LB7 style up pipe, then a tune would be recommended.
And also, you should only ever tune the truck after the modifications are installed. The software tuning relies on the physical changes you've made to extract the most out of the vehicle. Any time components that change air or fuel are replaced/modified a tune is necessary after to optimize the motor to run cleanly and properly.
Watched several different videos on options for an EGR delete, and each one look like a crap load of work, with several problematic steps... With different varieties. I’d like to do it one day, but When & what way I want to go? And having the energy & patience- as well as time to get it completed successfully, not to mention the need for a tuner, aftermarket exhaust, etc... I may leave mine alone for a bit longer.
I just did the delete and everything went well. Only question I have is which plug goes to the coolant and which goes to the A/C? They appear to be the same type of plug only difference is one set of wires is shorted than the other. Thanks
It's much better now...should be fine. I've been using Peak Global Lifetime in a Gold jug for a few years. It's been used in Dealerships too...so it's all good. Just change it every 5yrs maybe depending on driving and conditions. Use a tester to check it

Hey man. So I got my stuff off. Lol man 😂🙈 I tried the whole stubby 12mm and pry bar thing… dude how in the world can you make that work. I tried prying over the battery and no leverage and awkward. And being one man it’s even crazier. So I want to see you do a video and show you doing that step man! That would be gold. But I got mine off pretty darn easy. Got both off same way. From bottom through wheel well with a regular old socket wrench. I used one that was 3/8” swivel head with a standard short 2.5” extension and 6point 12mm. Y bridge and up pipe is next! Been doing it in steps and making a video.
Since you mentioned that customer wanted to save money by capping & reusing the stock passenger up pipe, is it fair to assume that's why you capped & reinstalled that factory cooler pipe too?
Great video very detailed thanks for doing it. 👍 Can you tell me what device I can use to put a basic tune afterwards on it not looking at increasing HP just to eliminate the engine light being on and where did you get your EGR delete kit from.

I am new to diesels and just purchased a 2004 2500HD duramax (it's LLY) with 159000 miles on it. Would you recommend doing an EGR delete on these older models. Would it be too late meaning damage has already been done? Can EGR delete rectify any problems that have built? I do not know if this year has them? thx for your vids

After watching this video I went out and started examining the situation a little further. Then I disconnected the EGR valve. Runs good so far.

Do you know an off road tuner lol
That is a real puzzle. You are a great technician. I have a LBZ classic. You might just go for the whole ball of wax once you are in there.
Yup haha
Dang, I have never seen a delete that looked like that. This is a great Commifornia delete kit.
Thanks brother I get a lot out of these. It reminds me of sitting around on Sunday morning watching Trucks with my dad.
I just watched the Christy Lee story. Dang man I never knew she died but at least she went out doing what she loved. Used to love all those shows

Always tighten bolt slightly then they'll break loose with your best chance of them not breaking.

Just ordered efi live from dirty diesel for my 05 lly. The old ppe i was using killed my ecm
Highly recommend the new up pipe, I did the blocker plate and my up pipe cracked in less than a month.
Yes I recommend it 100%
The heat shield can be bent and removed, then just bend it back once you get it in position for reinstall

Great video! One question, how many miles on this truck before the cooler was removed? It's crazy that much soot and crap can build up in the ports.
