On the pcv reroute, i just rotated the factory T junction on the factory piping so it was facing up and put a crankcase breather filter on it. Worked, and it was free.
PVC re-route. Please explain purpose? By this install the hose is open to the atmosphere; don’t you have to worry about moisture and varmints? The pvc draws air in correct?
Pcv is a pressure vent. When the crank case sees excess pressure it vents. Normal operations is to have the turbo suck in the gasses, and potentially suck up oil. So you run the PCV to Atmosphere Instead.
PCV is normally closed and opens under pressure, so no need to worry about anything getting in. It’s not a 2 way street. It’s basically a spring loaded check valve and will only open in one direction of flow when it senses enough pressure
@@joegage6171 Yes, it does "make" them. For $195 but its quality - at least the one I received - is below sea level. It's not machined at all, the PCV hole is not even drilled (but the plug has been conveniently provided for non-existing hole). Good news is that it's painted, never mind it's unusable.
@@nofyfb123 I got an S&B and it was good quality.. I don’t know why you would want to run the pcv gas into your intake anyway? I guess I don’t understand what you are saying..
@@joegage6171 What I am saying is quite simple. The one I (I!) received for my $195 is NOT as good as apparently yours - it's not machined at all. I am also saying that it's not up to s&b to decide if I want to keep the original setup. And finally, if they provided the plug, the hole for it should be there, and they just forgot to drill it. Hope it helps.
Id say this Amazon piece is a good ideas for a purchased used truck... I ordered a 2021 Sierra 3500 At4 and on an $83k truck, I’d recommend not buying cheap parts.
@@MegaDysart I’d still be weary of this even for an older motor. You never know how they are manufactured and how the final process is done. Aluminum from china, is NOT the same quality as aluminum form the USA. Are they cleaned with a die grinder to remove any impurities form the mold? Last thing you want is an unfinished piece, dropping some casting bits not cleaned off into you induction track. Food for thought. I personally would rather pay more for a part I know is quality from a trusted name for price of mind. Nothing sucks more than blowing up a $10k diesel for a $76 part.
@@MegaDysart also, I did not get to buy the 2021 AT4. GMC was not able to build my truck exactly as I requested without removing 1 or 2 things and that was a no go for me. I ended buying a new 2022 f350 lariat with the 6.7 powerstroke and I’ll tell you, Im really glad GMC couldn’t build my truck. My new Ford, I’ve put about 2k miles on it already and it’s a really easy truck to drive and the motor has plenty of power. It did however need to have the BANKS pedal monster installed so it didn’t accelerate as slow as a full size normally drives. Now it rips with very little accelerator input.
@@Subi_doo what would you be leery of? What does the price of your vehicle have do with the parts you buy? Is it really that hard to inspect a part and clean it up if needed? I’ve bought more then my fair share of American made parts that had factory defects or extra slag that needed ground off. The price of that part has never had anything to do with it. Have you ever bought an aftermarket intake manifold or a set of headers? You didn’t really just throw them on your vehicle right? Did you port and polish the manifold or at least gasket match? There is nothing wrong with having to do a little work to save some money. If your not capable of inspecting a part and possibly modifying it then you should probably close the hood and back away. Thank JW My LLY runs a little warm In summer around 205 with ac on 190 with ac off I been told that this helps the lly stabilize coolant temp ? Did you notice this ?
No I ordered the one you got fro Amazon and I’m doing the re route at the same time I knew the pcv re route won’t help cooling I was asking about the mouth piece helping Sorry should have clarified better lol
I have a issue in just looking to see if anyone else experienced it. 04 lly I installed the same mouthpiece, intake and rerouted the pcv. I noticed the truck seemed “quieter”. Especially the turbo whistle. Anyone else experience this? I did notice while removing the stock mouthpiece it was loose. Thoughts?

Which crank case filter u used?
I bought one for like 7 bucks from oreilleys. It was a work truck so nothing fancy
You forgot to say take out the plug on the pcv , before putting the copper piece in. If that makes sense
What size copper and what size hose? People in comments are saying different. Need to find out exactly what I need to reroute
Is this legal for California to keep it compliance with EPA? Yet still give it a boost
Is that hose you got from the hardware store approved to carry or be around gas and oil products?
so with the S&b mouthpiece you can just add the pcv to the mouthpiece and it’s easier ?

What lift/tire setup are you running on the red truck? Looks great
Do you know if that mouthpiece would fit on LMM?
Pls answer this if possible
Can you do this before egr deleting ?
Yup! All it does is change the airflow to the turbo
Nice to have the info on the lly I just got mine and still learning I came from cummins so your videos have helped so far thanks man 🤙🏻
Good luck! I’ve had 2 LLYs on this channel so there’s plenty of info
Does the LBZ have the issue and need the new turbo mouth piece?
John P no, the 06 LLY is a detuned LBZ. Hard parts are the same, just different tuning
I ordered this mouthpiece and the flange seems thicker having a hard time getting the clamp to grab
I just installed this mouthpiece and new Werhli intake now I have zero boost any ideas?
