Feeling so lost with career options as I feel like I only know what I don't like, but not what I truly like. This video came out at such perfect timing. Thank you Laurie.
I was raised to not believe in passion but to just work hard and don’t depend on anyone so now I am struggling on receiving help, or even knowing how I can follow and find my passion
Thank you for sharing your story. It's understandable to feel this way. Try exploring different interests and allow yourself to be curious. Seeking support from mentors or communities can also provide guidance and new perspectives. Remember, it's okay to ask for help and take your time finding what truly excites you.
Love your videos. As a asian descendant I felt big deal of pressure to do something amazing with my life and here I am at 45 starting from zero (again). Two years ago I felt like I let everybody down, but now I don't care what people might or may not say. This new feeling scares me a bit but the liberty to do what I'm passionate to do is stronger. Thank you ❤
Thank you for sharing your story, I can definitely relate. It's never too late to start anew, and it's inspiring to hear that you're following your passion despite the pressure. Embracing your own path is a courageous step, and I'm glad my videos could be a part of your journey. Wishing you all the best as you pursue what truly makes you happy. Thank you for your kind words and support! ❤️
Great point on how it's not about finding this single career or title that's "the" passion, and ikigai can lead to a more fulfilling and purposeful life.
I recently lost my job and too started questioning about my job, whether it's actually something I wanna do, and pretty much everything in general. Thank you so much for this video Laurie. It's not the answers I have to almost all the questions I had, but these questions and points do make me think in the right path, to plan out properly what I wanna do moving forward. Subbed
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, and I’m really sorry to hear about the loss of your job. It’s completely understandable to start questioning everything during times like these, and I’m glad the video helped spark some reflection. Sometimes, it's not about having all the answers right away, but about asking the right questions and taking that next step forward. Wishing you the best as you plan your path ahead-I'm rooting for you! Thank you for subscribing ❤️
Your insights really hit home. I love how you emphasize exploring different interests and being patient with the process. Something I really struggled with.
Totally feel you there, I'm glad the insights resonated with you. Exploring different interests and being patient can be challenging, but it's all part of the journey. You've got this 🙌
You're welcome and thanks for watching, I hope that video helped to clear up some of the confusions that I also had previously about finding the passion.
@@lauriexwang Yes, I think so, and I think it helped me , lol, be ok with not pinning it down to a thing, but recognizing just working on "what's there".
I know deep inside that I have a lot of potential but I feel lost.. Like I do not know what I want to do and how to start or where to start from.. I find myself in one loop everyday.. same spot same zone everyday.. Bed to kitchen to school back to the kitchen, laundry room, living room then back to school then hom then bed... A closed loop every signle day with nothing new in my life.. My brain is full of things.. but zero action in my life.. I cannot determine what I can or want to do.. 💔
It sounds like you’re in a tough spot right now, feeling stuck in a repetitive routine and unsure of where to start. It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed when you know you have potential but struggle to channel it into action. Sometimes, breaking out of a loop begins with small changes. Even minor shifts in your routine or trying out new activities can provide a fresh perspective and spark new interests. Consider setting aside a bit of time each day to explore different hobbies, skills, or areas of interest, no matter how small. This can help you gradually discover what resonates with you. Hope this helps!
My passion is to sit at a tiki bar on a pacific island beach sipping on rum runners at night and surfing all day. I used to surf all day as a teen, I was happy then.
I quit my job almost 2 years ago teaching at university where I realised that I do love teaching but not the subject that I was teaching and I had spent years learning and specialising in. I love sharing my knowledge and things I’ve learned with others but I’ve not been able to figure out what I can actually teach others that I am actually interested in. I guess I need to recognise or learn a skill that I enjoy enough to then help others with it. Still struggling with it though. 😅
Thank you for sharing your journey with me. It’s a big step to recognize that you love teaching but need to find a subject that truly sparks your passion. It’s okay to feel uncertain-it’s all part of the process. Sometimes, the path to discovering what you want to teach comes from exploring new interests and allowing yourself the space to experiment. Don’t be too hard on yourself as you figure it out; the right direction will reveal itself in time. Keep exploring, and trust that your passion for teaching will guide you to where you’re meant to be. 🙌❤️
most ppl just go into fields that have big growth, make money. passions and love don't pay the bills and its for ppl who have generational wealth already. passion jobs usually don't pay much either
I'm losing my life, I'm forced study another course instead of chasing my passion and dreams, I can't handle the pressure, I think today is the last day of my life, please help me out of this? 😢please 🙏

@@lauriexwang you have featured for procrastinators like me?
Ikigal may be known in the west as 'Raison D'etre' = Reason for being
Absolutely! I see so many parallels with that. It's quite universal 🙌
Yes maam please help multi for sure
Yep totally been there. Ikigai helped me a lot as a multi-passionate person. 🙌
What does she mean about "It's the expectation"? 2:24 expectation regarding what exactly?
The job afterwards?
What do i want to be when i grow up? As a kid, i had a revolving door of answers. As an adult, i don't want to be.
Its not about passion, its about expectations.
Yep! 🙌
