    Making time for play is so important to cultivate that creativity, love the point about how we sometimes can come up with our best ideas in the state of flow.

    Throughout my career, I've been plagued by the fear of public speaking. When I stand on stage, I'm so scared that I can't get anything out, my mind goes blank, and fear grips me completely.
    Thank you for recommending this method "I Feel Excited", I hope it can solve my problem.

      I know how challenging public speaking can be, and you're not alone in feeling that fear-it’s something many people face. I’m glad the "I Feel Excited" method resonated with you, and I hope it helps shift that fear into something more empowering. 🙌 You've got this.

    "Micro changes to my mindset" I always find a key phrase in your videos that hit home. As someone who resides in the "what if space" I have got to make changes - but struggle. Maybe micro changes will help. Thanks for the excellent vid. Please keep them coming.

    Achieve more with less is my favorite micro habit. I think we don't realize what important is the word yes and no in our life. These words can help us become more focus or more overloaded. Thank you.

    Thanks for all of these micro habit changes Laurie! Being grateful for everything that we have in our lives is so important to appreciate what we have and like you said, not what we lack. Also for me I have a warm lemon tea every morning which helped me to start my day.

    Are you an Isfp? Do you think personality factors into what career to choose ? If so would love to hear how

    • @lauriexwang
      @lauriexwang  4 месяца назад +1

      Great question. I do believe that personality can play a significant role in career choices. Understanding your personality can help you identify strengths and preferences that align with certain career paths. For example, someone who is more introverted might thrive in a role that requires deep focus and independent work, while an extroverted person might excel in roles involving teamwork and communication. That's my 2 cents!

    You obviously don’t work in a corporate environment. When you have a job, certain things must be done, routinely. There is no “request.” There are instead expectations, which become demands if you don’t perform to standard. You don’t have the luxury of saying “This doesn’t align with my values.” RUclips channels owners are continually propagating this kind of impractical advice.

      Well, the first part of her talk is indeed more about freelancers/self-employed people, but in around the middle she talks a lot about transforming the "I have to do" into "I get to do" to still get more value for yourself and a somewhat/slightly better alignment with own values even in situations where you don't have much control (e.g. corporate, or maybe government/public servant roles as well).
      Plus some amount of "does this align with my values - if it doesn't, maybe I can and should do something to change the situation" is often not completely impossible or impractical in those situations as well - though usually not so much on a per-task, day-by-day granular basis, but rather longer term. E.g. occasionally there might be some choices to make such as:
      - Do I really put in all that extra effort/time/energy/devotion into whatever the job is about, in order to strive for a promotion opportunity, or do I somewhat save on going that/those extra miles if the (potential) promoted role wouldn't really bring me much benefit of the kinds that align with my values?
      - Do I try to find a similar job at a slightly different company/organisation which does things somewhat differently (and maybe has a slightly different set/balance of values - if those exist, other than just making as much profit as physically possible)?
      - Do I try to shift to a different role in the same company/organisation, if such an internal opportunity arises?
      It all depends on circumstances. Or at least it might depend.

      Everything asked of me at work is a request that I comply with because I love my job and it aligns with my values even when the request is annoying or tedious. They are still requests though. Finding a new job is always an option if the bad parts of the job overwhelm the good parts.
