Thank you so much for this video! I had watched your other video about replacing the drain pump, but was worried about removing the machine from the pedestal. Our “laundry room” is so small and I thought we would have to move the washer out into the garage to have enough room to remove it from the pedestal. We used this video last night to replace the drain pump. As we removed screws, I put each set into a baggie and labeled the baggie with the screws’ location. I then lined the baggies up in the order they were removed so that we would know the reverse order to reassemble everything. It took us about 2 hours because we went slow and steady, but it was fairly smooth sailing and the washer is working great! First repair needed in almost 8 years and am so glad we were able to do it ourselves!

you are welcome. That is a good method for keeping the hardware organized. i use a magnetic tray and i place hardware in the tray in special relationship that correlates to the order i remove them from top to bottom . Thank you again for the Tip $$ 🙏😊

I want to thank you so much for making this video. I was dreading having to take my LG off the pedestal to get this job done, but your video was exactly what I needed. You have such a wonderful, clear, and easy to understand presentation. My LG WM4270HVA is 8.5 years old, so I went ahead and replaced the shocks while I had it open. It is unreal how smooth the machine runs now. It is just like it was brand new. I don't see why I can't get many more years of service out of this machine thanks to your video. I truly, truly appreciate it. I'm subscribed and I will share with others.

You are welcome. I knew there was a need for a video showing the pump removal when you have it on the pedestal, but this video was not my best edit. I was experimenting with a new editing software when i made it. I am glad I could help. Thank you for taking the time to comment

@@appliancerepairamerican I didn’t even notice the editing issues. Mind if I ask you if there’s anything else at 8.5 years old you would recommend changing out or be on the lookout to fail in the future on these machines? I don’t know what the life expectancy is on these front loaders but they seem fairly straightforward to work on and the parts are available. I’m just curious if there’s any pattern failures you’ve seen over time on these LGs.
      Thanks again

Thank you. It was difficult to find a video on how to replace the LG drain pump when it has a washer pedestal . Not easy to get the pump free from the dampening base. Good video

Excellent video. We also have the Kenmore Elite washer with pedistal washer. The pedistal washer threw an OE code but cleared after a rinse/drain. Drain line looks fine and is only 48" above washer. If it happens again, is the pump bad on the pedestal washer? Do you have a video showing that replacement?

this video shows the pump replacement . not sure if your pump is bad. this video should show you how to clear the line and replace the pump .

Hi terrific video, couple questions, I replaced my pump back in August the washer was draining great until last week got the E0 error, how often do these pumps fail? I'm thinking putting the shop vac on the hoses possible clog?
Can you remove the hose from the drum to the pump to check it out? thanks

There is a hose that connects from the drum to the pump . It is usually held in place by a clamp. I use channel locks to loosen the clamp
