I am new to embroidery (and sewing). I made this blanket and it turned out great!! Thank you for the tutorial and easy instructions. Will be making again.
Thank you for such a simple tutorial. I’ve been so overwhelmed trying to figure out my embroidery machine and all the complicated videos out there. This was really easy to understand!
Deb, You guy have done it again.....amazing, amazing, amazing!!!! I love your video! Your company has really help me learn so much with my embroidery. We buy a machine and then sent from the store and just try make it work. But, I am thankful that I found your site and you and your company has taught me so much. Thank you!
+Janice Ree That is so nice of you to say, Janice! I'm delighted to read that you liked the video. Those blankets are fun - the Minky is so cuddly! Enjoy!
I have been so fearful of using minky fabric because I was told it was a nightmare to stitch on because it constantly moves on you. After watching this video I think I have the confidence to give it a try. I am loving the lamb design and will give it a try. I do have one question is the diagonal lines necessary? I guess probably so if I am going to adhere the back to the back fabric to the front.
+Girlfriends Gift Shop Pam Thanks for asking -- I'm so glad you're feeling inspired by the video. Because Minky fabric is so stretchy, we really recommend stitching the diagonal lines to keep it from loosening during use and while laundering. Enjoy!
lovely video and good instructions. I was given a minky blanket already sewn with minky on the top and a stretch type jersey on the back. I need to embroider it wtih a name on top of the minky but need to make sure the jersey on the back does not stretch and is soft to the baby's skin. What is your suggestion. I prefer not to take it apart but to sew right on the finished blanket.
Hi LindaLu, thanks for asking! I would tightly hoop a bottom layer of mesh cutaway stabilizer (like Floriani No Show or Sulky Soft and Sheer) with a topping of water-soluble stabilizer. Use temporary spray adhesive to adhere the three layers together. Make sure not to stretch the jersey or minky fabric while hooping, as this will affect the design's stitchout.
Hi Janet, Embroidery Library sells machine embroidery designs, so all of the designs you see featured in our complimentary videos are from our company! You can find all our videos here: www.emblibrary.com/EL/default.aspx
Thank you for getting back to me. So this is the embroidery software that you use to print everything out. Do I put every embroidery design I own on this software. So could this be used as a regular embroidery software program thanks. Also is this a one time download and it is mine for ever or do I have to buy it after a wile. And etc thanks..
Hi Sana, we have a Brother, a Janome, and a Baby Lock in the office. Machines vary by preference and use, so we try to use all the varieties that our customers use, and don't really have a recommendation. Thanks!

So cute. Do you start and stop your quilting stitches around the lamb design?

+Melissa Wedgeworth Thank you Melissa! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Do you laundry minky and flannel before sewing?
One more question, do you stitch axross the embroidered lamb also?
+Melissa Wedgeworth Yes, we do recommend laundering before sewing. Thanks for asking!
+Melissa Wedgeworth Yes, be sure to stitch across the embroidered lamb to keep the fabric from stretching. Great question!
Loved your video. was wondering if you have anything that shows how to embroider a name on the minky fabric.
Hi Barbara, we don't have anything specific for that topic, but you can follow these instructions for other types of designs as well.

Is there a video on how to do the Diamond look on the blanket. For someone that needs step by step help thanks.
Its in the video above.
great advice ! very impressed
How did you sew the corners?
Hi! We rolled the edge of the blanket twice to finish off the blanket.
What embroidery machine do you use?
+misskristennicolee We have several different makes and models - Brother 6200, Brother 2500, Janome 12000, and Singer 300E.
I have a singer EM 200 and am having issues with the tension when embroidering on minky. Do you have to change your tension when working with minky?
thanks!
+misskristennicolee You are very welcome -- thank YOU!
