Yoooooooooo THANK YOU. Flipping the shirt and applying stabilizer fixed my problem hooping .. you are a angel I’ve been looking for a WEEK god bless your simplicity and thoroughness.
Just to let you know, I did a butterfly on my sweatshirt! I am so excited! I used the cut away stabilizer on the wrong side, then the washable on top. I did have a thread break from the stickiness on top. Next time I think I will either liquefy the stabilizer or not use the top one.
+Ellen Roddy Congratulations, Ellen! Way to go! I don't use water-soluble stabilizer on sweatshirts, because the fabric is smooth and doesn't need it. I use water-soluble stabilizer as a topping when I work with fabric that have a nap - terrycloth, waffle weave, fleece, etc.
I have a brother pe800 and struggle with getting tension correctly. I would do test stitches and they would work perfectly but when I start a project, the tension would be very off. What should the tension be on clothing like shirts and sweatshirts?
Hi I got my embroidery machine --brother pe800 and whenever I embroidery on hoodies or sweatshirts it sinks into the fabric. I use cut away stabilizer. What do you think could be the problem?
How are you getting the sewing machine to embroider the shirt by itself at 2:23? I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but I don't understand this part of the tutorial. I'm a newbie. xo
Hi Katlin, (not sure how you spell it) Love all your videos. You are one of the best teachers ever, So calm and pleasant and knowledgeable. Thanks for sharing that knowledge with us. I have a quick question. Do you have a design preference that works best with sweatshirts? Thank you so much for your time :)
Hello, thanks for the wonderful compliments! I don't have a preference myself, but you can find a top of great options in our Lookbook here: issuu.com/embroiderylibrary/docs/sweatshirts2016?e=18437236/40095026
Hi , couple questions , very green to the scene , but I want to do a full large design on a man sweater xxl pretty much shoulder to shoulder with fine thick lettering and possibly the whole back of t-shirt, with that said do I need a industrial machine or can I get a smaller machine like yours? Thanks so much if so which machine would you request ? Ty
Hello, and thank you for asking! You should be able to embroider on this size of a sweatshirt with a smaller machine as long as your hoop size is large enough. You can also use a smaller hoop and simply stitch each part of the sweatshirt separately. Thanks!
You can take note of the designs dimensions, then cut a piece of paper to those same measurements. Draw a vertical and horizontal axis through the center of the paper, and use that for placement. We hope this helps.
Where do I find the Snowflake design and the Bird Filigree design used in the video "Embroidering on sweatshirt" on the Emblibrary website for purchase?

Hi Mark, we have a Brother, a Janome, and a Baby Lock in the office. Machines vary by preference and use, so we try to use all the varieties that our customers use, and don't really have a recommendation. Thanks!

Hi Sally Red! A size 11, or 75/11 needle, will work just fine. I've used embroidery needles and sewing needles when embroidering on sweatshirts.
oh my I always have a hard time keeping the stabilizer from not moving, heck never thought about spraying the back of the shirt, thanks for this tip..
+ginger0174 I'm so glad that helped!
Thank you for a great tutorial. I may have missed what size needle was used....The video is very helpful and looks like even I could do it!

Good video. Will polymesh work the same as cutaway? It would be softer. Why weren't you wearing an embroidered shirt?
+Michele Klein I thought polymesh was cutaway? The polymesh that I've used in the past has been cutaway.

We put the fabric in the embroidery hoop, then attach it to the embroidery machine!

Hello! Nice video. Where did you get the blue sweatshirt used for the snowflake design?
Hello, this sweatshirt is a Hanes brand sweatshirt. Thanks!
If we don’t have a print out, what can we use for a template

Can you do sweatshirts on a brother se400?
+Ellen Roddy Yes, you should be able to as long as the desired design fits within your embroidery hoop! Thanks for asking.
Good Day, what thickness of stabilize do you use?
Hi Lin, we recommend using one layer of medium-weight (2.5 ounce) cutaway stabilizer. Thanks!
