Thank you for explaining the selvage for the minky. It is much appreciated. I did one the wrong way and it was so hard keeping it straight.
So glad that I found your video on how to load Minky on a longarm. It was right before I was to try quilting with Shannon Cuddle for the first time. I was nervous as I began but the fabric loaded well and quilted up beautifully! Thank you for giving me a bit of courage just when I needed it.
So helpful as I am new to quilting and learning how to use a long arm. I am quilting my first quilt top using Mindy soon and trying to learn everything I can.
thank you for the excellent lesson on loading minky!......you truly do make it fun!
Hi,Rob,so nice to follow you here, your videos are very nice to follow . I truly appreciate watching you..
Anxious to see your quilt finished. I always enjoy the videos.
You’re the best Rob! I always learn so much from your videos. Happy Father’s Day!
I guess a person needs to practice with minky. I have watched other videos and some say to put the selvage on the leaders and others like you say put is going down the sides.
Love that print!!
Thanks Rob for another informative video !!!
Can't wait to see it finished!
Keep up the amazing work you do!
I have never worked with Minky but you make it look so easy! Thanks for sharing.
rob making these mistakes is how we all learn. u make your videos real.
Great information. I have never used Minky but I would love to try it now.
Thanks for showing how to load minky. I’ve not used it on my long arm. Will have to try it soon.
love you and your tutorials very instructive thank you!!!!!
That was cool. Thanks Rob.
This was great information, Thankyou! I will be keeping this video handy.
Great tips. Thanks for sharing! Love the tie dye minky.
Thank you!
I have wondered how easy it is to work with minky. Looks like something I can do. I'm anxious to see you quilt with that machine. I'm still learning with my long arm. I have some go to designs but I haven't tried anything to fancy yet. Thanks for another great tutorial.
One more thought: If your quilt top has a top and bottom orientation, do you want to take into account the direction of the pile/texture of the Minky? Do you want the "smooth" direction of the Minky to run from top to bottom, sort of like with corduroy? Or does it matter? (I'm commenting at Minute 16:38)
Awesome vid. 🌸
Why do you use safety pins instead of hat pins? Is it specific for minky?
So cool
Is Exxon work describing how to do it on properly long arm properly I have only wished to have a long arm when I do get one I'll know anxiously how to set it up and use it properly thank you again rob
I have been searching for the other log cabin videos you talked about. I was unable to find them. Can you help out some how please
All of my videos are listed in order on this channel. Hit the videos tab and scroll back a few months
I'm assuming you straightened the top and bottom edges of the Minky so there wasn't any diagonal stuff going on! I have been trimming the edges of the Minky I'm working with now (A Gnome to Fa La) so they're straight in relation to what they're being attached to.
OK. Now you addressed it in Minute 15! You are correct - straighten those edges. Perfect lesson; many thanks, Rob!
I have noticed the MM fabric doesn't fray as much as other solids!
rob, where can i order this minky online? my local dealer doesnt carry it
I don't know about the one he is using, but you can go to Shannon fabric and find a store locator. Missouri star has minky fabric, and Cali Quilt Co
