25 years ago I about several yards of a most beautiful ombre fabric and had no idea what to do with to emphasize the beauty of the print. As soon as you started showing the fabrics at the beginning I realized what I could do with this fabric. Thank you!
This three dudes quilt has been on my To Do quilt list for quite some time. I love this variegated variation. Awesome job Rob. I have been following you all the way back to the start of Man Sewing. You rock friend!
Looks like Mike is relieving himself. I couldn't help but laugh. Boy, I love these tutorials. Rob is an awesome teacher. I love his personality and his energy. 👍👍
We have fun watching you. Under your coffee high are terrific teaching skills: preparation; clear and precise explanations; solid language skills; no BS; energy; shared mistakes; and nice set design too!
I have 5 tops ready to be finished . I promised myself that I will definitely not make another quilt top until I finished them , and then I stumbled on your channel . I have to make this now . By the way one behind you is awesome .
Great quilt. I wonder how it would look in blues or all different colors. So many ways to design this quilt. Rob, your instructions are impressive. Very easy to understand how to make this quilt. Thanks
Holy smokes- this is gorgeous, dang it, now I'll want one in all the colors. Matching up points has not been my favorite, yikes matching the black lines scares me, so visible. But it's so gorgeous!
I remember the other video and this one is a good upgrade. Idk why. I'd have to watch the other again but why? I've got the fabric and I'm going to finally put it to use so I can show them off. Hey also shout out to bring a male role model who quilts I can refer male teens to so they have an inspiring person who also quilts. 😉
Wonderful tutorial! Making everything logical and fun, and the explanation is spot on!! I have always wanted to do quilting but found block building overwhelming. Rob made everything so clear. I cant wait to start trying one!
I made this quilt when you were at MSQC. I never finished it because I couldn't get it to lay flat. I wish I knew where I went wrong. I might have to bring it back out and do some unpicking.
Love the quilt! It will be perfect for my grandson. I was however completely list on the more dense vs less dense. Both blocks looked the same to me?? Love your videos Rob! They're always so much fun!
I have some ombre fabric I have been saving for an awesome project. This is it! It would be very awesome with a high contrast strip. Thinking the grey/black ombre with purple or teal strip.
Thank you for the great, fun tutorials. They are very informative and easy to understand. I love this pattern and want to make it larger. Can you please explain how to work out the number of squares needed.
wow so beautiful i love to watch you i found you a long time ago with jenny im in the uk so sadly the fabric is hard to get here unless we pay the shippping that can be more than the cost of the fabric most of the time thanks for this i really want to try making this i am no quilter YET lol x
Very very sharp. Surprising how you could see the density in the triangles. If you hadn’t pointed it out and planned it might have made the quilt feel a little unbalanced??? I usually just worry about big flaws lol.
The link to the pattern has a link back to the video to get it. :) So no link to the pattern that I can find. Looking forward to making this! PS: I'm a retailer with Michael Miller and just discovered tonight that you are with them! Love the Michael Miller fabrics I sew with and that I sell to others to sew with :)
Oh, I see where the confusion is, sorry, I would have clicked the same spot. Please look under the Jet Black Fabric Thumbnail, "Download Instructions" button NOT the "Pattern available on RUclips Channel"
Dude!! Are you back !?? (to be fair.. you are on ep #59.. maybe I was gone!) I always loved Man Sewing! Hope all is well with you.. looking forward to following whats up next.. !
Just love the ombré fabric colors . New subscriber enjoy your videos but as an elder you do go a bit to fast and makes it hard to keep up and follow you. Do love the projects you do. Do you wash and iron your fabric before you cut?
Do thry do a plain ombre instead of the metallic dots too?I love the colours even the green & I dislike green immensely. I do not wear green nor own green except the grass in the garden lol

Rob, thank you for yet another amazing tutorial video! Very much appreciated! I made your 3 Dudes Quilt for my son and it came out amazing! My question for you is, how would I go about making this one into a king size quilt? I want to make this one for my own bed! Thank you for any help you can offer this newbie quilter!
Love ombres but not a fan of these ones with the metallic triangles. I love just solid ombres for doing landscapes and the lighting reflection on attic windows and appliqué flowers etc. I love that these ombres give other options with the dark to the light, however so.e projects I just like the traditional ombres that are the same at each selvage.
I have a DX3000 QVP, J350 QVP and J150 QVP - love them all, and certainly know that your TL2010 is an amazing machine. you should look at the J150 - it is unbelievable !
Rob, I've order my hombre as I want to make that same quilt as you. What size did you cut your squares to off the 44" piece? What was your finished square size on the individual block units? I appreciate your response.
For this technique I used Strips first to make a Strip set, then you mush measure the width of the strip set to determine the square size. Being that we all somehow have a different 1/4 inch, haha, I must ask you to make your strip sets, then you will have your personal answer.
@@makingitfunwithmichaelmill8161 Thanks for your response. I'm hoping this comes out just right. I absolutely love your videos and projects. Your very entertaining and fun to watch. Have you ever done a video on quilting math?
Be forwarned that the "sew around the square & cut triangles" technique creates blocks that are ALL bias edges. They are very stretchy and hard to lay flat. Use something like Best Press or another iron stabilizer to help. I think that's why Rob decreases his stitch length too.
Yes, as in most of the new patterns with strip sets this happens......has been this way on so many I do not even think about it anymore, I have always used a shortened stitch length when piecing and even smaller when using flannel.
I can’t wait to make this quilt!! The options are limitless!
I love the quilt. Don't think I can make it because I don't have a wall or floor space to lay it out. The quilt is amazing
Beautiful quilt....thanks for tutorial..... Mary (Australia)
I love him!🥰😀The way he talk omg i love it!!he is always happy!thank you for your time.God bless your hands!
You are such a good teacher, Rob! Oh, we had a wonderful couple days in your hometown area! Met a shop owner who gave us a great lesson on the area.
Just brilliant. You make quilting such fun. I like that you don’t “finger press” but iron 🌟🌟 wanna make this one 🌻
Love the colors
You explain everything well.
AMAZING!! FABULOUS!! Thanks sooo much!! You’ve inspired me!! Now I have to go get some Hombre fabric
I Have this same fabric in blue. Guess what I shall be making next? Great tutorial.

By putting in the black strips and the ombré fabric it looks like stain glass. I love the pattern so much and thanks.
Recognized this pattern right way. It is on my quilt bucket list. Adding this variation now. Love your quilts!
Cool!! You made that look easy good job Rob 😊
"Always so caffeinated". Totally understand!
Always good stuff from Rob!
Love this pattern. I will do it in just 2 colors.
Love those colors, all of them! It has always been my favorite quilt, I remember making it the day you and Jenny showed it, watched it a dozen times.
OH MY GOSH! I love this Rob. Now I really have to buy this fabric line..........
Where can I purchase this fabric?

Hey rob...How much Yardage..?? Great tutorial..awesome quilt...been a fan since man sewing...
Sorry, I forgot to mention. You need at least 1 2/3 yards of the Ombre and 1 1/2 of the black for strips and binding.
Love your design wall, what do you use for the fabric to stick and stay
The wall is simply a piece of washed flannel stretched over 1 inch rigid insulation board.
I'm going to make this with the Jade fabric... anyone have suggestions on what to use for a backing?!
Where can I buy this beautiful ombré fabric ?
We’re can we get fabric. And is there a pattern for quilt behind you?
How many yards of fabric do you need for this?
What do you have as your project wall? It works great. Mine doesn’t stay as well.
Just flannel on my 1 inch foam insulation board as a design wall, But, I did wash the flannel a few times to up the fuzz factor, haha
How much fabric of each do you need to make the size you did thank you for a wonderful video
Wondering the same thing
Sorry, I forgot to mention. You need at least 1 2/3 yards of the Ombre and 1 1/2 of the black for strips and binding.

Good morning my question is what fabric do you use for your design board Tia
I want to know if I can buy the ombré fabric directly from Michael Miller?
What size does this finish? Thanks!
Love your videos! Also what model Juki are you using? I to have a Juki and looking for an upgrade. Mine is a Tl2010 q
I have a DX3000 QVP, J350 QVP and J150 QVP - love them all, and certainly know that your TL2010 is an amazing machine. you should look at the J150 - it is unbelievable !
With the metallic accents do I need to always press on the back side of the fabric?
Nope, was pressing on the front of these fabrics with no problems, but that is a really good question. Thanks!
Will there be a purple add to these colors??

What’s the model of your Juki sewing machine.
How do you feel about this as a two color quilt? I think I might give it a try!
oi,muito legal , seu trabalho . se diexxar as medidas em polegadas , poderiamos fazer . ok. obrigado . até
Beginner question: how do youbget your squares to stick to your wall? Pins?
It is a flannel design wall, so the fabric sticks with a bit of friction and lots of Magic
Rob please link the pdf again. the one above links back to this page
