    Hi there, I just got this ukulele for myself, thank you so much for giving me the desire to try it and the inspiration to play it ! Love how this sounds

    By any chance are you familiar with Kala's 8 string baritone ukulele? (The KA-SCAC-B8). If you are familiar with it, how would say the Baton Rouge V2-B8 compares to it?

      Someone asked this is an earlier comment and I replied: the Kala is more polished. And it looks much better. It's better quality. But... sound wise I am just as happy this this one. And to be honest, I'd prefer paying the price of this one too!

    You play beautifully!
    I was considering an 8 string baritone or tenor ukulele to relieve my hands from the years of playing mandolin, but watching you play, I can see the hand strength required to play simple chords on an 8 string bari…never mind the bar chords….think I’ll just plug away at the mandolin.

      Thank you and yes, I don't think an 8 string would give you much of a rest! A tenor ukulele could work (Uma tenor ukes I can make particularly comfortable). But yes, 8-strings always tricky. Mind you, I can't manage a mandolin AT ALL!

    Great demo! How do you like this Baton Rogue vs the Kala KA-SCAC-B8 you also demoed?

      Brilliant for the price, yes. I'm planning a video where I choose what ukulele I'd buy at certain price brackets. This would be the sub £100 one!

    Yo! If you want some thick butter on your acoustic bread here you have a willing workhorse 🐴 to help you achieve exactly that!
    I have a 6-string tenor out of that serie, a V2-T6 Sun. I recently recorded with it: FAT!
    Baton Rouge is a reliable, much overlooked brand!
    📌 Some advice: in order to not hurt yourself or walk away w/ a ligament condition of any sort, start out slowly an gradually build up some strength. In both forearms/hands really!

      Yes, I always think 'good value, with no frills'. But who needs frills as long as it is good value!

    Thanks for this video. How does this compare with Baton Rouge's other 8-string baritone: the VX1/B8 charcoal? Are they basically the same instrument, or are the woods different? Which of the two do you prefer, if you had to choose between them?

    • @WorldofUkes
      @WorldofUkes  2 года назад

      Yes, most aspects are the same. The charcoal on has been discontinued - so soon there'll be no choice. I would say it's a situation where it is OK to choose the one you like the look of most.

    Love the demo. May I be cheeky and ask what chord progression you are playing?

    • @WorldofUkes
      @WorldofUkes  Год назад

      Now you're asking, I don't know my baritone chords! But consulting a chart... G, then G adding on the 5th fret on the E, D, then D adding the 3rd fret on the E, C, Am, Em, then Em adding the third fret on the E string, I think.
