I am primarily a vocalist and I searched high and low for a four stringed instrument I could accompany myself on and also had a beautiful and rich sound. Several years back I took a chance on an eight stringed Kala Baritone (a little different from the one played in this video) and I absolutely love it. I hardly touch my acoustic guitar, tenor ukulele, or my mandolin these days. The eight string just sounds and feels the best. It’s really inspiring to hear a similar instrument played by someone really accomplished. Very impressive.
Just got myself a Bâton Rouge V2-B8 (the only "cheap" alternative that I found to the Kala B8). I kept coming here over again and again like I was bewitched by the sound of this instrument and the way you play it. Now I can play it by myself : ruclips.net/video/-1hR0rj_Ezs/видео.html I know I don't have your virtuosity, but I'm still so happy (and rather proud) that I can make it sound pretty much like you. And I'd just like to thank you, Hawaii Music Supply & Kalei Gamiao, for letting me discover this wonderful instrument
I was considering buying a new ukulele to replace my debut instrument. I've been looking for "standard" 4-string electro-acoustic models from Flight and Kala. Then I watched this video and fell in love with that very rich 8-string sound (wonderful play btw). Felt like I was listening to a ukulele version of John Butler's "Ocean". Now I'm hesitating whether I stay on my first decision or change my mind... Thank you anyway !
Wow.. speechless. What a beautiful sounding ukulele. So unique! Just picked up a Kala solid Spruce top concert today. This is my next purchase for sure. I need this in my life. Can we get tabs for what you just played please???
It’s a noodle in D. Your 4th string is D. Work out the D scale for all 4 strings. Then play the D chord with the variations - check out the fingering. Play the D chord at the 5th fret etc then noodle away. Also the percussive rhythm is important so try to follow the strumming pattern. Just keep adding variations on the D chord and fill your boots.
I'm interested in changing my 8 string tenor. I want a low A and low E. Instead of paired in unison. Can I use 2 strings from a 8 string baritone set? I prefer unwound strings. Is any of this possible?
@TUSclips do you have any recommendations what would be a good string set for these 8 string Baritones, it seems so hard to get strings for 8 string baritones
@@BaritoneUkeBeast4Life hi. The Indalo is a symbol of the town ’named Mojacar located in the south of spain .he is a very very old symbol found in a cave . It seems that it was painted by prehistorical mens .excuse for my bad english ,i am French with family in spain .cheers
What's wrong with those guy's showing the instrument and don't play the basic chords. Get beating up into the same note....I hardly can hear the chords...
I think we got a good idea of the sound with this demo. It was mostly D and G chords with a few added suspensions. It sounded more complex than it really was because he played it so well.
I have one of these. Its sound is amazing. One night I heard this aweful sound that woke me up. Thought I was dreaming, but next day, I found the bridge of this 8 string had come unglued in the night. Lucky I am a luthier and knew how to reglue it. So its fine now and hopefully stronger than before. Thanks for the demo.
On the basis of this review I bought the Kala 8 string Baritone Ukulele. It’s a great uke and I love playing it. The thing that sold it for me was the noodling. I bet lots of guys have asked for the tabs.

I could sing some radness to that jam man!! 🤩
Whats the tuning of this?
Sound is just exploding!
Can't find this on your website, looks like it's been snapped up already!
my gosh that guy can play!
Wonderful playing on a wonderful instrument.
Awesome playing brother! Good jam.
What a gorgeous tune. Thank you!
This is perfect for baroque guitar repertoire and medieval music and john Dowland and rocksongs

The uke sounds great but dang, your playing...you killed it there bro. Nice!
I'm not really a uke guy, but it's clear you put a lot of effort and talent into this video, so I'll subscribe
Wow! I got lost in that it was so beautiful.
So u'i !! Mahalo! Now I'm homesick..lol!
You plays amazing , whats the song
Beautiful!!
Unreal 🔥
Was that just jammin' or is there a name for that song? Regardless, it's beautiful.
It’s a noodle around the chord of D. Your low string is D so tunes in the key of D will sound nice and rich
Your playing
unfortunately, i had to install a tailpiece because the bridge came off. twice. its a great instrument. i love it
Crying out for hotel California 😂 or Oceans 😂
Thank you so much. Fantastic wonderfull sound. I have baritone uke flight nub310. Plese someone clarify, that the tuning he used for G pair of string?
The E and B are tuned in pairs. The D and G strings are tuned an octave apart.

X❤ what type of tuning is this standard or dgbe
Standard for a Baritone is DGBE. So this 8 string has low and high D and also low and high G and the B and E are just doubled up.
@TUSclips do you have any recommendations what would be a good string set for these 8 string Baritones, it seems so hard to get strings for 8 string baritones
Hello man .very good rewiew . Is the symbol on your hat an Indalo?
Hi I don't know what an Indalo is, but the symbol on his hat is the brand logo from ANueNue Ukuleles.

The Kala 8-string tenor, my weapon of choice has a HUGE sound as well. Such fun and you can completely lost in the sound! Great noodle btw!
I think I will try these aquila strings on a flamenco guitar i'm converting to a baroque guitar...
