    Would love to see a series comparing runout of different seater dies. Suspect there could be some affordable options punching well above their weight.

    My Lee amd Redding seating dies are adjustable without tools. I have a 9mm Luger RCBS die set and I get varying seating depths beyond my comfort of 9mm seating variances. I carefully adjust the seating depth and it is not consistant. I did not bother hetting an RCBS rifle die set due to this adjustment type of needing tools. Buying from Lee, I also thought it was weird I had to buy the shell holder seperately. The only RCBS rifle die I have are the Small Base rifle sizing dies for when I need them.

    I use a mix of Hornady, Lee, and RCBS dies. I like getting everything you need in one package like this. Excellent video. Plus this makes me realize I need to bite the bullet and just get a decent electronic scale like that and stop having to mess around with what i have now.

    • @foonus406
      @foonus406 Год назад +1

      The scale is half the battle m8, after you drop $1000 CDN on an AND scale you STILL have the Autotrickler's themselves are another $500. I can handle that but just like barrels they have a significant production lead time before you can use the gear you forked up that money for.

    Nice ring groove on the bullet ogives left by the seater die.
    There`s nothing new with these dies, they just added a ammo check gauge and a shell holder to the box with a priddy gold storage box now.
    This die set "kit" is what they ALL should have been doing decades ago. Ahhhh yes, marketing strategy. Fool the guy with the open loose wallet.

      Just an FYI. My Sierra 107 Matchkings came pointed to reduce the meplat and appears to have been deformed by the seater die. That isn’t the case. The pointing is said to increase the bc.

    Just started loading for my 6mm Creedmoor, Zero press, Area 419 M-Sizing die, Redding bullet seating die. CCI LR primers, Nosler Premium brass, H4350 powder, have tried Hornaday 103,108 EDL, Sierra 107 Match Kings and Berger 115 gr. bullets. Still trying to find the powder charge it, it being a Delta 5 Pro, likes the best. Maybe need to try different powders or different seating depths. Have not found the 1/2 groups yet. Warmer weather is coming to NW Montana I hope.

    What makes this die set Supreme? I love my RCBS Rebel press. I've had no trouble out of it. But when it comes to dies, I don't really think of RCBS very much. Companies like Wilson, Forster, and Redding are typically who I get my dies from. Are there any advantages to these dies?

    Srp are more available here in the Netherlands .What would you do?...Buy brass that fit srp's..

    I haven’t got on the Needmore bus yet. To me it’s mostly marketing hype to get sales up. There’s plenty of other cartridges that will match the ballistics with my two favorites being the 6.5-284 and the 6.5x55. I expect the Creed will fade away eventually like the 26 nosler and 260 did. The 260 will hold right with a creed or as well and has been around forever. Anyways. Didn’t mean to rant. I use RCBS for a few calibers and they do great. I enjoy the videos. Cheers mate.

      @@BcFuTw9jt While Gavin didn't appear to have any difficulties, I have found that it is often beneficial to take steps to ease the trip of the expander ball back out through the case neck. I'm quite familiar with tapered expanders, carbide expanders, polishing the expander and so on. My first lap around the handloading bench was many years ago.
