    I thought the original is 18V ? Did you find the new version closer to Tame Impala tones on 9V or 18V?

    Hi man, great video as always. Wich type of reverb (room,spring,plate,..) do you use for kevin tone?

    • @TameTones
      @TameTones  3 месяца назад +2

      As I put in the video I stick with the Holy Grail reverb which is the only one he tends to use 99% of the time. And always on the Hall mode.

    The original has obvious low end girth. Sounds tapered or low passed on the new version. More of an appearance of openness and width on the original diamonds. It’s 18v. Not sure about the new one. 18v? 9v? Guessing 9v.
    New one def has the tone. The old double wide form factor and the build of the original diamonds is very appealing . I have a few including the vibrato. Have not seen the inside of the new ones but space/ form factor plus headroom are going to sacrifice something in new production. Solid gold fx make great pedals in their own right in that 9v form factor. I have 3 fuzzes by them. Good company.

      The reissue also can run at 18v. The only thing different feature wise about the new one is the lack of expression inputs

      Yeah there's something different about the old version but I can't quite place what. The new one sounds good, but the old one sounds "gooier"

      you're listening with your eyes man. there is zero difference in bottom or top end between the two. I'm listening on JBL 6.5 monitors and the only difference is how hard he digs in with his picking hand. nothing to do with the pedal. these 2 pedals are so ridiculously similar its nonsense to pretend otherwise. Pete Thorn & Andy Timmons feel the same. @GreySH101

      @@coldacre I listened with MDR7506s. And I blind tested myself with this video. It sounds good but there is a difference.

      I have the diamond vibrato OG but I’d say if you want something cheaper but quite close get the Julia v2 chorus/vibrato it’s still a bit expensive but way less then the $500-$800 range of the diamond

      I’d recommend the JHS emperor, I really like the vibrato setting. It’s no diamond vibrato but it does the job
