I have a Linux computer so downloading Garmin express is a bear. Garmin express will not work on Wine or Bottles, and running a vm for windows without a product key is even a bigger bear.
I have a garmin 2597 lmt and it is old & full of whatever. can it be erased? format? if not what is the right mini sim card it uses? it did not recognize a sony card.
It used to be as easy as you have instructed. Now all the install says “waiting for other installations to complete” this is going on over an hour!!! What to do?
Am confident I have done everything correct. My Garmin Ex recognizes the new SD card. I go to download and install updates but the software says not enough memory on my PC. Says I need 13gb free space. I popped one of the SD cards in the PC. It shows the additional 32gb available. I don’t think I can make room on my PC aside from the new SD card. Does anyone know what to do?….thanks for the information.
I think the error message you are getting in the available storage on your HD, not the Garmin. You need to backup your HD and make room for 32GB so you'll be available to load the latest Garmin Express software
Good tutorial. But what do you do when the obvious dont work? Mine just shows error when i made the choices and the download should begin. Have SD, internet connected and all obvious things seems ok. I have updated the unit before, but it is a long time ago because this is an old gps which i have not been using in years. Can it be uotdated and not supported anymore? Garmin express would tell if that was the case?

Be sure to run a map test (GPS Simulator) to ensure the route guidance is working correctly after a map update.
My computer ( and I tried several computers) Linux as OS too but none recognise my Garmin Nuvi...);
