Today we're going to show you how easy it is to install a new Garmin map into your GPS device.

how does this apply to a SD card for the nuvi 1450. and how to install one?
One question to the garmin experts:
I live in Germany and I want to travel through the USA this year with my Garmin 1390T. I have the USA maps installed, but I can only choose a few big citys (Miami for example), but not the adesses I want to visit. Is this normal that it is not possible to find the destination adress in USA, when I am in germany?
So, does the navigation for the USA only work when me and my Garmin are located in the USA?
No, the maps on the SD card cannot be updated. They are up to date when you buy them, but they can't be updated at a later stage.
we have relocated to France and my wife's Garmin has the South African map, how do I install for France?

Hi, i have a new empty sd card memory of 4GB and i 'd like to download and install on it a map of Morocco to use it in Garmin nuvi 1300 . i already downloaded a map card .img but i don't know if i have to directly copy it on my sd card or have first to convert it before copying it ,, anyway , i do not know how nor what to do to make my Garmin read a Moroccan map ...Thank you for your help .

My GPS is giving me problem of satellite what should I do
This instructor could have showed a more clear view on installing the micro SD card, ie: brass contacts forward towards the screen or back? His hand was over the installation. This wasn't the most useful video
I own a Garmin Navi until and a Garmin GPSr. If I purchase a map will it allow me to load both my navi and GPSr or is it restricted to one device?
Carl Nelson You can only use the map in the device where you insert the card. That means you can switch between your two devices as often as you like, but you cannot use the map in both devices at the same time.

DO NOT BUY THE GARMIN 50LM [other versions I cannot say since I don't own them] UNLESS U GOT NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE!!!
[1] you cannot install their map update soft on any Windows OS that is higher than windows XP even though they boast that it would work. And when you call for support, the ONLY answer they WILL GIVE YOU is: Well it should work, maybe there is something wrong with your computer. Lol, how hard is it to install a software. And when I google for help, I found many others have encountered the same problem. So instead of fixing their mistake, they rather to just blame everything on their consumers.
[2] The voice navigation on & off on their own will. [Of course I've set it to have voice]
[3] Their provided suction cup is WEAK, it will fall off when there is too much heat from the sun & when it drop, it drop with a bang & might cause any un-prepare nervousness driver to panic & in turn would cause an accident.
[4] The most important problem: This thing is only work good when there are no road/freeway closure. During your driving, IF there is gonna be any road/freeway closure/blocked & you must drive pass it, this stupid navigator WILL KEEP telling you to make a u-turn to go back to the same CLOSED road/freeway?? It does not provide you OPTION nor guide you to another alternative road/freeway, which mean YOU HAVE TO FIGURE OUT ON YOUR OWN on how to Re-Route or else you will be lost... guarantee. I own this thing & sometime I got to pull over to ask direction from strangers, lol.
Best advice? Stay away from Garmin.
