    Most doctors are saying they are no longer using HA around the eyes, any thoughts?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Год назад +1

      Hi M Chris,
      I think your statement is inaccurate. Most doctors don't perform injections in the delicate eye area as it is highly delicate, and requires precision and skill to be effective, and to avoid complications. There are some doctors who are vocal about no longer performing HA filler treatment around the eyes, but that doesn't mean they outnumber those who still do. HA filler treatment around the eyes is about artistry, and precision with filler; as well as expertise and experience in dissolving the filler, especially when deeper in the anatomy, when it's needed. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Thanks for another great video! I had a levator resection in both eyes almost a year ago. Now, my lids are very asymmetrical and I wish I never had the surgery 😢. One eye now is hallowed and still has a ptosis. I spoke to my surgeon about hylauranic acid filler to help with symmetry but he refused saying he does not recommend filler in the lids. I got a 2nd opinion and the new doctor said I need a Muller resection in the hallowed lid. I’m nervous to have another surgery because not only did my first surgery not work but I also experienced extreme pain during the procedure! I’d prefer to just use the filler if I can find someone to do it. I’m 2 hours away from you…I may have to drive up! Question…is there any risk to using filler in the lids long-term?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Год назад

      Hi rnj08360,
      Sorry to hear about your problem. It's not clear if filler is the right treatment for you, as it's not a replacement for ptosis correction surgery. However, you can book a consultation for a proper examination, and another opinion from me.
      Hyaluronic acid fillers are safely metabolized in about a year. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      An eyelid ptosis examination is needed if you suspect a droopy eyelid. You can refer to this video about it - ruclips.net/video/7gWSjQce3DQ/видео.html

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Год назад

      Hi Liew Yih Hui,
      I hope you understand that a proper second opinion would require a physical examination, and reviewing the medical records of your previous surgery. However, it is too soon after surgery to give you a proper second opinion as temporary post-surgical swelling will obscure results. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    How to detect ptosis if you always compensate with raising the eyebrows? It’s often missed because of the compensating part

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  8 месяцев назад

      Hi @DSauve,
      Diagnosing for eyelid ptosis involves tests for measure muscle function. You can refer to this video about it - ruclips.net/video/7gWSjQce3DQ/видео.html

    hello doctor i had an accident as a child
    and my eyelid was torn open and the muscle for the eye was dislocated. that's why i have
    ptosis on my left eye. a tendon was taken from my leg to replace the muscle. however,
    I am not satisfied with the result. in your opinion, are there other possibilities? I would have liked to visit you, but I live in switzerland.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Год назад

      Hi oz,
      It is normal to have more than one eyelid ptosis correction surgery in a lifetime because of all the wear that occurs with blinking so many times a day, every day, for many years. There are other options for correction, but I would have to examine your eyelid function to determine what would be best for you. If you can't come see us in the US, you can seek an oculoplastic/oculofacial surgeon closer to you for a proper examination. I hope this helps you.

    For dark circles would u say laser co2 in combination with prp good to get rid of dark circles???? I know some drs now stay away from fillers for dark circles because it is now known fillers remain there for several yrs

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Год назад

      Hi Jack Andrade,
      While I do perform that combination treatment for dark circles, it isn't right for everyone, especially in patients with darker skin types prone to hyperpigmentation from laser treatment. While a physical examination is needed before making specific recommendations for you, these videos feature the ways I treat under eye dark circles in my practice:

    Hello Dr Prasad,
    Is it possible to have online consultation? Or maybe you can answer here?
    I did upper eyelid surgery 4 months ago. Left eye is ok but right eye’s fold which is closer to nose, is still stiff and smaller than I had. I can see that incision on right eye was made 2 mm higher than my natural fold. I think this is the reason. The scar is almost invisible now, only the end of scar closer to temple is little pinkish. Please let me know if my eye fold will become normal? Or should I do another procedure?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Год назад +1

      Hi enarty,
      I would have to examine you in consultation before I can give you a proper second opinion. Consultations are by appointment only, and can be arranged by our offices to be done remotely on a one-on-one video call on Skype or FaceTime. Consultations do require a consultation fee, but the fee can be applied to the cost of treatment.
      Our offices are located in Manhattan, New York City which you can call at (212) 265-8877; Garden City, Long Island at (516) 742-4636; or Vienna, Virginia at (703) 356-1336. • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Год назад

      Hi ray ray,
      Sorry to hear about your problem. The results of ptosis correction surgery are expected to gradually dissipate over the years as the upper eyelids are engaged thousands of times a day. However, failed surgeries that occur shortly after your operation should be revised by your surgeon as it does happen sometimes with even the best surgeons. Please let us know if you'd like to have your eyelids examined. I hope this helps you.
