Dr. Timothy King is the chief of plastic surgery at Loyola teaching hospital in Illinois, I have an extremely complex case up for panniculectomy, 2 surgeons wouldn't take my case and he did. He took time to refer to other surgeons who were more experienced with my specific condition, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and we expected I'd have at least SOME complications cause I have a major history with wound healing issues, but I had ZERO complications. This man truly is ahead of the curve and deserves to be put on that list, doc! I've been under many surgeons knives, and he and his whole team took the BEST care of me.
I offer him as tribute, lol.

Omg so I haven’t been diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos (although my seizure a few weeks ago did cause me to somehow dislocate my left shoulder lol) and I have POTS which I’m sure you’re aware are common to go hand in hand. Do you know what the slow wound healing is about? I tried telling a primary care I had recently about it and he shrugged it off and said it’s fine… LIKE EVERY DOCTOR DID THAT LED ME TO BELIEVING IT WAS ALL IN MY HEAD FOR 7 YEARS BECAUSE THATS WHAT THE DOCS AND PSYCH CONCLUDED. 14 years old to 19/20 I was suffering from pots and thought I was doing it to myself somehow. Do you know what the heck is going on? I didn’t used to heal nearly this slow at alllll. It’s so fucking weird.

As an Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist my job is to train people to correct their tongue posture (essentially mewing). You can learn to rest the tongue in the palate with a light suction as opposed to pushing up and forcing it. Rest oral posture is as it sounds, a resting position ,not something forced. At the beginning of therapy, the tongue will tend towards the original low posture it is used to, not because that is where it is supposed to be but because there is dysfunction/poor balance to the facial and oral musculature. If there are no physical implications you can make permanent changes to rest oral posture.

6:00 you're referring to "vaccuuming" and this has actually been proven to narrow the waist and improve strength in the rectus abdominus muscle group. "Sucking in" for extended periods of time will, in fact, strengthen these muscles, leading to a more narrow waist line. It's done by almost every bodybuilder at some point to showcase a flat, small waist in comparison to leg/back muscles.

    • @LiliS319
      @LiliS319 Год назад +16

No, there's regular sucking in your stomach like regular women would do in the mirror or for photos, and then there's stomach vacuuming that is more specific, with a specific purpose, it's more involved. Obviously he's comparing it to just sucking in your stomach, for that reason, it's more analogous. You're not strengthening, you're training your tongue to be in a different position. As for the chewing toys, the muscles in your face are optimally strong, if you strengthen it more than optimal (whether it be with a toy or because you grind your teeth) it can cause TMJ issues. There's no joint to worry about around your abs.

I have a friend who used to look like this guy in his late teens. Then, in his 20s his jawline got more defined and masculine. Maybe is part of his maturation process??? Great point. I also “bloomed” late. I’m 31. Around 27 my face slowly started to change. I developed dimples (first only the right side but now got one just starting on my left too), my cheekbones became more pronounced (which naturally happens to most as they get older anyway) & face overall became more thin. My dad has always had dimples but they get more defined as he ages, just like mine are. Knowing my face changed, who is to say his didn’t naturally? I don’t like the guy, but I can’t say with any certainty his face is fake.

what a lot of surgeons don't tell you and they typically also ignore it is that a small part of the inferior alveolar nerve that runs through the jaw / chin bone is usually permanently severed after most sliding genioplasties resulting in the permanent numbness of your lower front teeth. and some people may say: "but aren't your teeth numb anyway?" well no, they have nerves and if you eat something cold your teeth start to hurt. But what surgeons do try and protect usually is the mental nerve that comes out of 2 small holes just above your chin which if severed causes permanent numbness in your lower lip. The inferior alveolar nerve unfortunately runs inside the chin bone which makes it impossible for the surgeon to see and for some people this nerve sits lower than for others. severed nerves can grow together again but usually the other tissues grows together faster causing a sort of barrier that wont let the nerves grow together anymore but i heard that b-vitamins can help to increase the chances of nerve recovery. My brother actually underwent sliding genioplasty 4 years ago and his lower 6 front teeth are permanently numb now which he says sometimes causes an "annoying sensation in his gum" because his gum is not numb just his teeth are

I'm pretty sure his new jaw is the result of orthognatic surgery. This is something people who have strong underbites and overbites get to correct their bite, and isn't really plastic surgery and it is recommended by orthodontists to patients who have strong overbites and underbites. It is very common and changes your facial appearance a lot which makes people think it is plastic surgery. The reason why I think he had this surgery is because before it looks like he had short face syndrome, which is usually from a strong overjet or overbite.

I think he intentionally flexes his jaw in photos. I’ve seen him live and yes his muscle is prominent but it’s not near as crazy as in photos. I would venture to guess that the muscle is bigger from posing that way all the time now that he’s SO famous and constantly on camera.
I also think his face is leaner & certain features stand out more because he went from a gangly teenager to someone who works out all the time and has substantially more muscle mass.

Jared Kushner and Elon Musk, had major surgery transformations too. Lebron James hairline surgery, Donald Tr*mp has had multiple hairline surgeries that are documented in his divorce court records, Kanye admitted to having lipo. The rapper Tyga got his hairline done too, so did MGK. I could go on and on. I'm not saying that's what's happened with him, but tongue posture changes your face. It's not, as you say, it looking better when the tongue is lifted, and back again when it's slack, but when a person always does it correctly (tongue to the front roof of the mouth), they always look better. The same with back and shoulders posture: a person may train themselves, or just naturally do it always. Me, I was slightly surprised to learn about that mewing (or however it's called) because that's where my tongue always is naturally (but also maybe because of orthodontics). With shoulders/back - I try to do it always right, otherwise my back hurts. And I don't "suck in" my tummy, but my muscles always hold the waist in place; I can consciously relax them completely, which would look worse, so I just don't do it, sometimes checking myself what I'm doing posture-wise. Truly, training yourself into always holding better posture for all the body parts is absolutely a real thing. That includes walking and other stuff (like checking yourself for frowning, grimacing without reason), and it's not exhausting or taxing, it's a very, very minor thing in the general scheme of life. Saying that as a rather lazy person who doesn't care very much about their looks (just to a reasonable, easily accessible extent).

I broke my jaw badly in numerous places; both mandibles were broken, as were my cheekbones, and my central upper and lower jaw were snapped vertically with massive dental damage in my teeth and gums being ipacted directly.
I dont look the same to myself - my profile is slightly different and I have scars, my chin is recessed after the jaw was reset but it has been a long journey after the reconstructive surgery and overall i dont look massively different, objectively.
My opening and movement of my outh is way less as it was such a severe injury there will always be limitations because the mandable socket was so badly fractured.
I had my upper and lower jaw wired up for 5 months. That was probably worse than the rest of the recovery and the ways it affects you physically and otherwise. Like barbed wire, I swear to God.
They also corrected a deviated septum at the same time and i was convinced my nose was a little straighter and less crooked; which believe it or not, when this thought was combined with the way I looked during my recovery period; which was extreme: I really missed the imperfections and was worried my unique family nose was a little less like it was. I had many thoughts about how people are able to drastically alter that area or the face in general and be so okay about looking so different. I used to hate my nose when I was young but learned to like it. And now Ive had time I dont think this procedure has changed my nose, i think the impact on my lower face was the thing I was projecting onto my nose, possibly.
Dentally however I am not started in that area in terms of addressing that and I have been most emotionally affected by the results the accident left me with.
I hope that my consultant in the new year will offer me dental implants of some kind as my teeth are truly set different, pushed together on the bottom jaw and pushed inwards, while the upper jaw i have broken teeth and they look terrible as youd expect.
Dr G ive followed your content for years and it has been so strange to go through unelected but medically necessary surgery. Ive got several custom plates in my face that they had to put in to tie my face back together.
It was pretty near what the doctors said was a pan fracture.
If I had the money Id definitely be coming to you, Dr G for advice about this.
Luckily Im in the UK and the NHS has been amazing and my surgeons have really been amazing and put me back together.
So I will be offered dental work but I have worries as I have had a bout of severe depression after the wires came out, which I wasnt expecting and I have been smoking when I had not previously smoked in 4 years so Ive been a self neglectful and really low and now even though im going to be quitting very soon and Im out of the depression for the most part, I worry they wont offer me what I would have otherwise been offered due to me smoking and not looking after myself very well for the past couple of months.
But I was lucky I didnt die in the accident, and I can now appreciate the fact that I had a severe accident and was able to get myself fixed.
So the rest I will cross my fingers for.
But sorry for the long comment.

People are tripping....he never mentions natural aging, lightning and camera angles, the face structure changes so much when we age, especially if he started workings out. I know for a fact that I went from an oval shaped face to a diamond one and my cheeks also became sucked in and more defined....plus whe I modelled they taught us how to position our heads to make our faces and jaws more defined and to suck in the cheeks even further...he compared an outdoor smartphone selphie with strong sun coming from behind to a professional photo took in studio with perfect lightning and a professional camera and lens that won't distort facial features. Also I'm sure in the professional photos he also wore some makeup and that could mean countouring, that's standard practice. This guy since a very early age always showed signs of having a strong and defines jawline, it's very clear that it just grew bigger and more defined with age, especially if he also had a dental procedure. I guess when you become obsessed with looks you start seeing procedures everywhere in everyone and I believe there's a component of jealousy and envy...some people just can't accept that some times people are born better looking than them. The Dr. at Northwestern said had I waited 1 more day I would have been in ICU. I had a 104 temp, throwing up enough to fill up a small garbage can (like a bathroom garbage can), I could not walk... I will NEVER ever go back to Loyola again. I had better care at Northwestern, my local hospital then Loyola. I learned my lesson the hard way. Please note this was not for plastic surgery. 3:20 hey you are comparing a closeup selfie to a picture taken with tele-lens. The first picture also is in shadow, while the other with more light coming from above, giving sligthly more contour to his face. Its obvious to a photographer that you cannot compare here like you do. Matt has gone through similar phase like myself, getting older but mainly getting lower bodyfat when working out much more. When Im at a certain low bodyfat I too get crazy jawline. While when its winter and im on my +7kg period, its way more soft the jawline.
The "holes" on cheeks as talked about in 7:40, thats him sucking in his jaw a little to enhance the already existing "holes" alot of people get when theyre shredded. A typical model trick to look a bit better and more model like. This looks even better if youre already shredded. Ive done this myself too alot. So no, its not a surgery.

No doubt. Rafe has what i call 'plastic surgery face,' which is to say that it's been altered, which you can tell, even if you can't exactly put your finger on how.

Mewing works and there’s thosands upon thosands of people who have permanent shifted their teeth due to proper tongue posture. It takes daily dedication and sometimes a couple years to see the difference. The sides of my tongue are no longer chewed up from my teeth being so out that there was no space for my tongue. I can also now breathe out of my nose. This is a pretty well documenting at this point so I’m not sure why doctors are still pushing that it’s not possible. It’s a lot easier when you’re younger, but even people are older can still learn to reposition their tongue over an extended period of time.

I'm not sure if I think he has procedures. His changes are believable enough so even if he did, they fit and are well done. I have absolutely watched men lean out and grown up and look much more masculine over time. Like you said, he definitely already has the baseline of his current features even when he was younger. He could even have gotten a testosterone boost and seen some changes. Especially since he clearly went to the gym too. I've seen trans men develop a masculine jawline non-surgically. The teeth he upgraded for sure. If I was going to suddenly be on camera and suddenly had way more money, I'd probably be making sure my appearance was on point too.

At 21 I had veneers fitted, I have full lips and they look as though they got bigger, I often get asked if I’ve had lip fillers, but no. I don’t know if or how that could affect it.
But I’ve had cheek and jaw filler, and Botox over the years, I’m 29 now and his face looks extremely similar to mine with the structure of his “bone”.
The filler injected onto the bones solidify and it feels just like bone.
He’s definitely had something done, obviously no judgement having done it myself 😂

actually mewing isnt just the movement but the habit if succion holding the tongue, implementing corret swallowing patterns and better breathing habits. Therefore an total upswing and better foward development of the face is possible since the tongue has a primal function of keeping our face structure (maxilla and therefore mandible) in check. Also in grown ups the skeleton renews consistantly. Therefore keeping up and implementing good habits long term gives people the chance of positive change as well as vice versa bad habit will deform your face or body. Orthotropics has been proving and replicating these statement for decades

He’s talked about him doing a cycle or two of steroids and that helped his jaw line become more prominent which is very typical. He already had a great jaw line and I just see his jaw muscles are more pronounced, and he’s leaner year around showing off his facial structure better
