I am finally seeing a team being built.. You got Bryce Rainer at SS, Kevin McGonigle 2B, Max Clark CF.. That's 3 kids at 3 premium positions coming up together..
@@ricknofzinger I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the rebuild is never ending! There is no urgency to put a winning product on the field right now.
I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I think it'd been better to cover our series win against the dodgers first cuz it was such an amazing series
Totally agree. Two of the most exciting games of the season vs. one of the top teams in baseball deserves better. It will be anticlimactic once we hear more about it.
Yes , I was disappointed in this episode. I think the draft is one of the most boring subjects , talking about players who most likely won’t amount to anything . In the meantime the Tigers had an exciting game on Sunday that was completely ignored .
Plus when the "Postcast" show goes silent for several days, we don't get a recap. Sorry, but being very selfish here! Maybe it's just hard to talk about Kenta Maeda having a good day!
First off Scott thanks for doing these draft previews and reviews for the Wings and Tigers I can't keep up with it all but I like to be somewhat informed. Second, I'm annoyed because my brother is a Dodgers fan and if I didn't have to work and he didn't have a tournament we would've been at the Saturday game
This draft so far is a clear indication that Ilitch has given Harris a very long leash to rebuild this organization from top to bottom. Drafting high ceiling HS players is the longest path to winning, but it's also the Best way to find Superstar talent before College wrecks it. Too many college programs run their best prospects into the ground and teach them bad habits that are hard to reprogram. Exhibit A is Spencer Torkelson! That being said, Harris will still have to put a competitive product on the field if he wants to stay long enough to see the fruits of his labor in 3 to 5 years. But don't look now,...the Tigers are on a roll! If we can keep the momentum going till trade deadline, he'll have to add some pieces to make a playoff run via the WC.
My take home message is that the Tigers must draft much, much better than they did pre-2023. The 2023 and 2024 drafts are inconclusive, while Tiger draft classes before these two years are not very good overall. There are a few winners but the classes lack much needed depth and breadth. Scott, thank you for mentioning this.
One issue with drafting prep players is that if they choose to go to college, they go back into the draft pool, and are ineligible to be drafted for 3 years, per MLB draft rules.
The truly best way to draft is best player available. After that normally your talent will make it to the show and once it starts pipelining in then you will begin to have sustained success.
Things Scott Harris dreams about, having the problem that he has two top shortstops and only one can play short. Keep McGonigal at short, no problem if we end up with two shortstops.
No review of the 2 come from behind wins over the Dodgers????? Talk of the draft can wait, as these players will not be relevant for many years. C'mon, Scotty.

Greene, Skubal, Olson, Keith, Malloy, and Jobe on top of that 🤯
Those guys are part of the next rebuild. What about current Tigers who are part of this team?

If you’re having a hard time pronouncing Ethan’s name (he’s my cousin) it’s pronounced Schiefelbein (she-ful-bine) if that helps any
Congratulations!
Love the name. Hopefully he can bring us a couple of World Series victory. Congratulations to your family
And I slept with Mrs. Claus 🤶
Sounds german?
I’m from Riverside county we have a good amount of California on the team 😊. I hope to see him one day when he plays the Against the Angels.

Dodgers beating the tigers would get more coverage, national BS@@daviddunn3179
Totally agree. Why talk about players who might be Tigers someday? I tune in every AM to hear about our current Tigers. FAIL!

Welcome to the family Bryce Rainer. Go Tigers!!!
I'm getting way too old for the Tigers heart pounding games!....................but I do enjoy them more when they win. Go Tigers!
This team is fun to watch, I’m excited about the young talent we have here
A player you won't see in the majors for 6 or 7 years
Harris is trying to guarantee a job for himself for many years too many.
We said that about Riley Greene and we saw him 3 years later 🤷🏾♂️ u never know

We got Rainer 🥳🥳
Love to see some premium speed this draft .
God, I hope they let Rainer play some Low A this year

I’m starting to think this guy is just a shell of a tigers fan… more of a walking ad.
Number 1 certainly is overrated....good chance any of them turn out better than Mize or Tork.
No update on our CURRENT Tigers? Hasta la bye-bye.
I like Rainer pick
Draft? Really?
It was super ballsy to pass on Wyatt Langford for Max Clark. I hope Max Clark is the real deal or Harris is in trouble.
HS so 5 years before we see him, maybe.
So our first round pick is a future utility infielder who can’t hit and wants a lot of money sure sounds like a Harris type of player
