I imagine Oscar’s stats with less protection in the lineup would be less than he hit in LA on a contract year. However, he’s still a huge addition that I would love.
In addition to the many things you said about Hernandez, I'd like to have more before one could judge how good a fit he'd be for Tigers. How is is speed on the bases? How many homers did he hit in LA last year and how many of them would have been homers in Comerica. How would his style of hitting play in the field and how much would his fielding be even more of a deficit in the larger outfield there? I don't know how or if it could be measured, but I'm guessing the bigger the outfield and the farther the fences, the more his value goes down. Therefore I think he might not be Hinch's kind of player.
I'm reallynot that much if a stats nerd, as much as metrics go, but I do know Hernandez averaged 32 2B, 1 3B, 29 HR and 96 RBI over the last four years. Yes, there will be a few bloop doubles in everyone's profile, but those above stats still figure into the Tigers' pressing need: RH power.
Just saw a piece where Hyde thinks we’ll sign Verlander, Severino, & Bregman this off season. He also thinks we will trade Jung while Teoscar will sign with someone else. For what it’s worth I’m good with that tho I wouldn’t mind bringing in Goldsmidth or Walker at 1B and Scherzer might be a bargain due to his question marks. Bunch of old guys I know but at this point their ages may help us get them and youth is not an issue for the rest of our roster. If they can stay healthy would be my main concern but if we spend some $$$ I’ll be excited for our chances. Let’s go Tigers! 🙏🏆🍻
100% yes. I was disappointed that the Blue Jays traded him. Teoscar is a clutch player, he delivers and always gives it all and he's great in the clubhouse. Having said that let me change my answer to 100% no. I'd like to see him back in Toronto.
Seems like a lot to spend on a position that isn't really in need. I'd rather see them focus on trading assets for a long term, younger righty 3rd baseman, pitching and a righty catcher. Also, it's probably tine to extend some of these young guys.
I’m not going to get excited about free agents until I see some evidence that Harris is moving away from shopping in the bargain basement Canha-Urshela aisle. If they sign a pitcher on a one year deal, I’ll expect the plan will be to sell him at the trade deadline.
@rodneymorgan313 part of the reason we couldn't win from 2006-2015 or whatever it was. Defense was laughable, no baserunning and no bullpen, didn't matter if we had the best hitters and starting pitching
Don't get me wrong.I'd be thrilled if Teoscar came to Detroit, but is he REALISTICALLY going to leave a world championship team? If the Tigers do get Hernandez what do they do with Vierling? ut hi,, at 3B, where nobody likes his glove there? Or, do you trade him? Not that Vierling is anything more than an average hutter, but from I gather, he seems to be a great clubhouse presence.
Didn't we just go through this with the Lions? Talking about players we weren't going to acquire? commonsense says, if you play for LA, the lineup around you is so good, that you are going to get better pitches to hit. If you come to Detroit, your HR production is automatically reduced about 25% or more, and the lineup around you sucks, so take another 10% off production for that. All of a sudden those gaudy stats aren't so glamorous.
Can’t believe you spent the whole program on one player he’s a decent player who had a career year good for him but the money they’re talking about no way he’s not a star. Look to make a trade for a guy getting better don’t need another strike out hitter
Would like to see us Target Burnes
ANSWER: UHHHHHH FUCK YEA!!!! WE NEED POWER HITTERS
He certainly fits the bill.
If the Tiges want to be serious about winning, they need to spend money.

Go all in on Soto instead.
get him and Guerrero
then wake up and change the sheets...

They were ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so close. A couple two , three awkward plays, and Tigers are in the WS. Go Tigers!

How would people feel about trading for Mike Trout?
Either Teoscar, or O'Neill
Please!

He would have to DH for me, i don't want any below average fielders
Good point. Don’t want to be the Yankees…lol

Pass on Teo! Only did well because Dodgers were stacked
How about Carlos Santana also?

Teoscar wants to stay with the Dodgers. According to Teoscar.
They could use him primarily as a designated hitter.
How old is he
Currently 32 years old
@ thanks
Maybe, but don’t sign him for more that 2 or 3 years
This guy will never see Detroit as a Tiger.
