Absolute BEST Addon for Mecabricks. I used to rotate the hands and everything manual and have to adjust the location. Also, I do animation with it, so that makes it much harder. This makes it just like regular old rig-based animation and I love it.
@@hassa774 When you create the rig, you'll notice shapes that surround the arms near the shoulder. Rotating the blue one rotates just the arm on an axis while the yellow circle controls the socket. For the legs, it automatically makes the legs IK (meaning that when you move a bone, the chain of bone follows). Technical doesn't matter though :). When you look at the feet, you'll see a red shape outlining them. If you select that and move them, the leg will follow it. An important rule though is to place make sure your character is at the object origin BEFORE RIGGING. It doesn't need to be at the origin in Mecabricks or at import, but when you rig, it MUST BE AT THE ORIGIN. If it isn't at the origin, it won't work and stuff won't move. I hope this helps and say anything else if you need help.

When you want to move the hand, you would click the blue lines surrounding the hand when in pose mode. On the left side of Blender, you should see a gallery of boxes. If it isn't there, hit T. But when you look, you should see a symbol with arrows around a diamond. Click that and you should see colored circles around the selected hand bone. Now the hand will only move in the socket, so it is restricted, but there is enough rotation to work with.

Thanks! EFR helped a lot with animation. But I could not work with the cape. I tried to add a bone but got strange position of the torso or legs. Sometimes it was fixed with selecting JOIN between the torso and cape. I guess a short tutorial about working with cape would help many people. And sometimes the snap master Bone didn’t work. I don’t why. But I must repeat that EFR is awesome tool. Thank you
I'm having this issue in which once I rig the mini figure, when I try to rotate certain parts of the body (arms, legs) the whole body seems to rotate with it. Any solutions on how to avoid this?

The minifigures from mecabricks huge in size and they don't play well with normal sized cameras. So you should add an option to resize them as that's a recurring problem for mecabricks users.
Not sure if anyone is having this issue but when I snap or reset the masterbone everything moves to a different position rather than the rig snapping under the mini figure

First, try deleting the empty and rigging. If that doesn't fix it, Try isolating the part that is causing problems and see if you can figure out if it's a singular part that's causing an error. Then just parent without selecting that part and parent that individual part manually

Hey. 6 months late but i've had this same problem. it's because you didn't select the rig right. You have to select the empty first in the list tab where you have the camera and items and then shift select the whole rig per arm ect. Then it should work. Hope that makes sense haha.
I commented this on your github so idk if you saw it yet, but just in case this is what I said: I'm trying to do a short animation, and when I rigged a figure and tried to move it into the correct spot, the torso isn't moving with it. I tried to parent the torso with the rest of the figure but it didn't do anything. (Also I'm still pretty new to blender)

Not great to suggest people to repeatedly try something over and over again if you don't have an understanding of why it isn't working properly. How many times are we supposed to repeat this process until it eventually (and mysteriously) starts working?? It's a great rig and somewhat informative tutorial, but I don't really like wasting my time repeating a process if there is no guarantee that it will eventually work or not. Update: Figured it out for myself... I think the video may be wrong. I parented the torso to the left right rock arrow (yellow, on the stomach) afterwards which seemed to fix everything relating to the torso. I suspect this video is now outdated and doesn't relate to the most recent release?

I tested this Rig on a figure exported from Studio into Mecabricks and the exported as Collada. But when i try to apply the rig. I just get bart of it. I tried to follow one of yor guide from manual to export from Meca an Xmbx Blender file. But how do imprt it into Blender. There is no options to load this file. Using one of the later 2.8 versions
@@Taxevader300 Yes, I have downoaded the add-on and installed it as instructed in the video. But not downoades anything from Mecabricks. I made a minifigure in the program for this attempt. Not started in studio as the first, that i got into blender. But it did not work well. Looked like just some part of the rig got added. Second attempt with collada file. A figure created at the default point in Meca. Imported to Blender. This looks like it worked but the whole "controls" was far away. Could be that the figure somewhat is very small when imported. ?

If I want to export my finished animation to a glb file, my animation will be distorted. For example, the arm waves above the body. However, after exporting, the arm waves down. Any ideas how to fix this?

Yeah totally! I assume you’re doing this so you can reuse the same character multiple times. If you rig a character in an empty blend file and then save that file somewhere on your computer with just the rigged minifigure in there, you can go to any scene where you want that character and use “Append” to being him into the scene. A tip is to make sure both the rig and the character are all wrapped up in a collection so when you hit append, you just grab that collection and it shows up ready to go.
@@Diggingupherbones just so you know, this rig has been largely updated since it was released. If you have been using it for a while I recommend downloading it again there are many new features added. I was working on a video about all this but I got sidetracked. Regardless, you should definitely check out some of the new updates that have been added. They are pretty cool ;)

First, try deleting the empty. Then, if that doesn’t work, try parenting without selecting the torso. If that doesn’t work, go ahead and figure out which part is causing the problem by parenting and excluding certain parts. If you can isolate the part that makes it not work, parent the fig with the faulty part deselected and manually parent that part after the auto rig does it’s thing
May I ask, is the "Rig Settings" option to scale the head and hair controls different in Blender 4.0? When I adjust the "Head Accessory B" or the "Head Bone Size" sliders, the controls for the hair and head do not grow or shrink. When I turn the Arm IK to 1, the FK controls stay visible and the IK controls are not visible. Same for the Leg IK, when I switch the leg Ik to 0, the IK stays visible and the FK controls are not visible.

How in 2:43 he chages his mode to move each part of the Lego (I must press in a special touch or something) ?

Hello, is there any way for a cape to simultaneously move with arm movement? Even with parenting the cape to the torso, the cape still does not move.
Make sure you select the cape when you autorig and the cape will automatically generate a special cape rig that will do that for you

@@ThejasMirle no matter what part I choose the rig is massive
May I ask, is the "Rig Settings" option to scale the head and hair controls different in Blender 4.0? When I adjust the "Head Accessory B" or the "Head Bone Size" sliders, the controls for the hair and head do not grow or shrink. When I turn the Arm IK to 1, the FK controls stay visible and the IK controls are not visible. Same for the Leg IK, when I switch the leg Ik to 0, the IK stays visible and the FK controls are not visible.

Rly great tutorial. So I tried to parent a Santa hat to the fig, but whenever I increase the head accessory bone it does not show up for me.
