Hi, I downloaded blender on my apple mini computer and also downloaded mecabricks, but I wasn’t able to install the mecabricks add on to blender. Why is the reason for that, why can’t I connect the two together?

so, your Star Wars: The 313th actually inspired me, ngl. and because of that, it made me want to use Blender, and make my own Lego Star Wars animation. but unfortunately, im only a senior in high school, so i don’t have enough money to buy a powerful enough computer. but once i do, i would love to learn more from you, and maybe one day make a project with you
Rather than making the light sources super bright, I wou'd really suggest scaling down the models upon importing. Difference might not be obvious but it is really good for more realistic light bounces and other rendering aspects.

How are you achieving depth of field in your shots? The mini figures from meca brick import huge and epic fig rig doesn't work when you scale the figure down, so I'm stuck with the default scaling and can't get any shallow Dof in my shots. Would love to hear some Ideas for a work around.

Is it ok to have monetized youtube videos with these, because when exporting from mecabricks i got this popup when about to export some stuff: the mecabrix platform and all files generated by the export function including but not limited to geometry and texture files can only be used for non-commercial projects. I dont want to get into legal trouble with lego or mecabricks
so i downloaded blender 3.6 whilst already having the mb lite addon but now it is not showing up in the blender 3.6 but it is for blender 4.1 edit: im dumb i forgot to actually activate it LMAO
When i import the set, an error code appears, it shows something about python traceback, and use_auto_smooth. Is this normal, or am i doing something wrong?
I discovered the problem, as of 16/4/2024, blender lite is only usable up to blender 4.0, so i am now using an older version of blender and it is working.

When you import any model from Mecabrick immediately rescale it by 0.01 to match Blender's default sizes, then Alt S to set the new size back to 0.

See later video for the process but you need to go super small with the value. Try 0.03
