The dark room ...definitely a study/office room and some storage cabinets. Love the house and a lot of windows. The terrace is a gorgeous place! I would clear away all the underbrush and trees except a few all the way to the beach in front of the house for a way better view 🤩

I really love the open deck out the front and the upper 3rd floor room which I think would get alot of breezes from the sea as well as an awesome view. Look forward to seeing more. I am also guessing you would use composting toilet, right? It will be great to have solar panels to allow you to pump your water to the house and use some lighting. Very nice, for ambiant lighting the use of ship prisms would work well and fit the motif. It would be awesome to have some crafted from sea glass. Fiber optics would of course work as well.

If you have yet done somthing to the dark middle room could be some type of storage and foldable desk to be used when extra work or people stop by. If visitors who has little ones that need (darkness to sleep/change diper cloths) it would be a great place sense it closer to 1 floor

What will you be connecting the toilets and sinks to? I've never built a house, so I don't know how you do these in a modern sense and also off grid. It's turning into an incredible home!

We are going to do a steel roof on ours when we build it, but I want to strap it and do a thatched roof like yours over it. In Belize the maya traditionally use cahune palm. It will add insulation from the hot sun and also dampen the rain noise on the steel.
Yes, those traditional roofing solutions are great for isolation! Out here they often put in a wooden sealing under the roof but we chose to keep it bare, just sagu leaves.

Attic room
A very nice house it's big and looks comfortable. One thing you needs to avoid are the termites, in a couple of years it will destroy a one big house if you will not pay attention to it. Because the house 80% of it are made out of wood. The roof too, termites will destroy it thats the main problem in a tropical country, building a house isn't easy like in other country..
Yes we know 😬 we regularly put treatment against termites, hope it will be enough.

Yes it’s made out of the leaves from the sago palm! A tree that grows plentiful around the islands.

It is a fabulois house no question. Especially the wraparound terrace. But why did you not have an outside kitchen? And bathroom? They can be sheltered and the batgroom can be private - but it is such a luxury to have those rooms open. I have an outdoor kitchen in Bali where l stay for some months every year - l like it so much better than stewing indoors!
We love the idea of an outdoor kitchen but out here, so close to nature, we think too many animals would get inside 😆

Yes we definitely get insects in the house 🫣 the roof provides natural insulation from the heat ☺️

Build a tiny home on your property for vacationing rental People would definitely go with that ocean view with your out door space add a bbq have grilled fish cook outs that would definitely be a great location ❤

Hi Connor, An is from Indonesia so he can own land here. But yes indeed, if you aren’t Indonesian you can’t own land. You either need to lease or start a company.
