Thank you so much for posting. My Hyundai has no heat or defrost. Just cool air. I spent 7 hours at the dealer and they changed the thermostat and gave it back and said they cant do anything else. They did not know how to fix it. Thank I will go back to Faulkner and tell them to look under by the door. I cannot drive now because it is winter here in PA.
Easy temporary fix. Since it is winter I rigged it to stay on heat. Otherwise it was a $475.00 job! Thanks for the video saved my life today. Might I add I am a woman and did this in no time!
How did you rig it?
Thxs Tim nice job, yeah some people think that antifreeze alone will work, you have too add water, to maker it work..
You use what the manufacturers recommend!
At least you get a snack with this job! My favorite customer usually brings me a breakfast sandwich to eat while his car cools off. :)
welcome back tim! hey have you ever used that power back flusher the one with shop air?
Hi Tim, Jeff from Wisconsin. Another auto repair guy. (finally retired) Always enjoy seeing what you are up to. Figured at least I could finally say hi! You have some very nicely produced video's. Keep up the good ,,,,,, If I call you a vandal, my friend says that, translated means - he approves, Take care Tim, can tell your one heck of a nice guy!!!!
Hey Jeff, good to see you here. I've met Tim is person and I can say you'd like him and his work very much.
I replaced actuater but still have hot air, on the passenger side vent, the rest of them are good, will this be electric issues?
Good call going with a richer mixture due to water that is still in the system. I hate not knowing how much is left in a system, even when using compressed air to blow things out. The worst ones for me are Vanagon's. 17L system with heater hoses for the front & back of the van.
Yes and also when it goes low and they add water they will be protected. I did blow out the water but edited some of that out due to the graphic nature. I didn’t show the rotten banana under the seat either. Haha.
The Car Doctor in a chevy silverado 2000, I have a problem, the ignition makes it very weak as if the battery failed but manages to turn on, and today turned on the light of the cabin half a minute, and wanting to light the truck, poisoned the board and after I turned off completely and did not start, is she totally dead, what could it be? I need help I just bought that truck and I'm worried that I've been taken
Hey Tim. Nice work as usual. Wow, my record low temp while in Fairbanks was -57. You got me beat.
Thank you man!!!
Oooow i bet you feel all dirty now, dorkman all over your hands, yuck yuck lol.
Tim I like your method of testing, give it a smack :-D.
Hopefully the owner will be happy now :-)
Im sure he will be happy for the time being...until the dorkman part fails. haha. Blessings friend
Great video. I have a Hyundai Azera and everything is very similar in it compared to a Sonata. This video helped me out a lot! Thank you very much, Sir!
DA DA DOORMAN HAHA. Long time no see Car Dr!
Could you please tell me do you have to adjust the new blend door actuater before you install to the vehicle?
No
Its not a good feeling when you have to install a part (Dorman) that you don't trust because something else isn't available. Not exactly a 10 minute job.
No, lets hope it doesn't come back anytime soon
Nice job, Tim. The rest of that corn should pop now. ;)
haha, that's funny!
60 below 0. I am shaking my head!!! It went to 45 deg. overnight here in Victiria B.C.and I thoucht it was cold!
Its in the 30's here right now. crazy.
thats alot of popcorn.....it was great how you opened the glove box and all that stuff landed on the floor.... lol
I like how you say 65 below zero..like it's nothing...why would anyone live there ??
Haha. It’s not too cold down where we live but I have to make sure they are protected if they drive north. Besides that, it’s a good place to be a mechanic. Everything breaks when it gets cold!
@@ThecardoctorTV lmao yep that's true everything does break when it's cold never fails!
hi, i have the same car. In right side, at passenger i don't have heat. , i verify this actuator she is work... Who is the problem....? thx. In left side at the driver i have heat...
got asc problem on a 13 hybird
How's it going sir .. I'm looking for your shop online is it called mclains car Doctor ? I'm looking to get my breaks done .. I've been subscribing so your work is great please send me your info please
Hi Tim. Great video, and great workmanship. The video really helped alot!! Thank you!
Great video Car Doctor
What a striking resemblance to Captain Keith on the Deadliest Catch, of all places, Alaska.....
Nice job on the repair, classic...,.,
Man you have awesome customers! They bring you their car and popcorn and your reward them by installing the best parts ever built...I mean that's some self sacrificing on your part to install a new Dorman blend door actuator every 45 days or so in their Sonata...Dorman rocks :D Nice diagnosis with the blend door & repair Tim. BTW now you can put up the big Dorman banner up stating nothing but the best quality parts installed here :D Sometimes you just have to use what you got :D BTW was the popcorn buttered & salted or plain?
The popcorn was both buttered and salted. Just how I like it! barf!! so gross
Great job, 👍👍
And we know the wipers work too!
Just part of our 100 point complementary safety check with every repair. Hehe
Any gasket or permatex required on the thermostat housing? What about "burping" the coolant system when refilling?
No sealant since it’s a rubber seal on the thermostat and the airlift system I used to fill it sucks out all the air before filling. I did run it outside and it finally produced about 140F at idle which was awesome! Thank you for watching!
Fancy Filler hose!
Mine won’t budge...
Do you happen to have the part number for this part?
971593K000
Great video again. Best regards.
Thank you, I let it age a bit before publishing so I’m glad you enjoyed it. Blessings.
As always an awesome cool video. Hey Tim, I hope you are doing well my friend. It's good to see you. I hope you are having a blessed winter so far.
Thank you friend. It’s going well here. Super busy.
I can do this in one minute air filter change
I had exact same problem in same car, watched video 33 times, replaced the same parts and it got worse, I spent $1.63 on a used air filter from a junk yard, took less than a minute to install and now car works perfect!! Thank you Mr. Pablo and Mr. Kilmer, I AM NOW A REAL MECHANIC!!
You make it do complicated
You saying prroblem with heater. I don't like your dignostic. Wrong
Please go back to the Scotty Kilmer channel haha
