I love all the other reviewers: potato jet, gerald undone…etc But i see Kai’s new videos and I just know i choose something with a light hearted comedic touch to it. And thats what I get. Love you Kai ❤
Literally the best review - no BS - showed that the camera fully worth it! All the other forced reviews DONT KNOW how to present the freaking camera! They Yes, but... but then No, but ... but ... Kai literally showed the low light performance - vlogged with it and precisely explained it!
I got an M5 body basically mint condition for 250 bucks a bit back at a pawn shop as a way to make use of my EF lenses. I never looked at the M50 past photos, it looked too much like the control lacking toy dslr body design they have for most of their mirrorless bodies :|. The R cameras are too expensive for me to look at without IBIS to help slower lenses. Nikon's Z cameras are a similar philosophy of function over appearance (z fc aside), but at least they don't look like baby versions of DSLRs from the boring era of cameras.
M50i/ii is okay for low end consumers after rebates. R10 is sort of similar but that's much more focused on Stills, it beats a6100/6400. R7 is cheaper than FX30, and a much stronger stills camera. On top of that all Canon can use the third party EF-RF adapter with ND/CPL filters. I can see FX30 trump card is 4K 100p, but that's it. Everything else is a super upgraded ZV-E10. I struggle to understand the endless Canon bashing in non-Canon video. Canon deserves some hate for not letting 3rd party lens right now. But the RF line up at current state isn't end of the world. I guess you lot and many others forget how terrible e mount line up started.
@@StrangelyIronic M5 is a old camera. Not a fair comparison. The "slow" non L RF lens on Non-IBIS R10/RP/R isn't slow focus in normal lighting. If you ever tried one.
I have both the FX-3 and FX-30. I’ve used them in tandem for the same event. The FX-30 is great (unless you have to operate in low light conditions). 2500 high base ISO is not sufficient. If your workflow includes operating in lowlight conditions, do yourself a favor and pickup some panel LED lighting.
After using the a6300 for years, APS-C is kinda the perfect sensor size for vintage lenses, budget filmmakers and the like. I continue to use the a7sii, I need 10-bit, which is my only complaint.
Re: APS-C being an ideal middleground for vlogging due to weight / DOF balance. Agreed except for stabilisation. It's easier to stabilise a smaller sensor be it through IBIS or lens. And shakey footage is worse to watch than footage without background seperation. Therefore personally I lean towards M 4/3 and even 1" sensor cameras for filming one's self, or even others, hand held. Using fast primes helps achieve background separation.
Thumb up, Kai ! I'm new to the Sony niche and still using oldschool Canon camcorders. I didn't know what S-log3 or Cine EI and wouldn't know how process it. I probably would just shoot in S-Cinetone. I'm still debating between the FX30 and FX3. I'm afraid the FX3 might be too overblown for me. Love your review. Thank you!!
I've only used the Wireless GO II on FX30, which works fine; this is in fact shot entirely with FX30, the "Canon's Noctilux Killer - The FD 55mm f/1.2 S.S.C. Aspherical" ruclips.net/video/v0ajhi87Trc/видео.html
I think people mistake this camera for a vlogging camera. This is clearly for professional and semi professional filmmaking. Where you control more stuff and your shots look cleaner either way. It works for vlogging, but the focus is like with the Blackmagic Pocket. If you like to vlog use your cellphone… its smaller and cheaper.
I don't know about you guys but camera on phone this day is good enough and can do much, the reason i personally could buy camera is night vision cam or insta 360 or 3D 360 or drone or phone lens attachment or car dask cam Something phone cameras can't do Could you focus on reviewing what people actually need?

But no DCI 4K or anamorphic de-squeeze. True cinema shooters do look for these features, so I feel that Sony fell short here. Perhaps those can be amended in a firmware update?

this is the camera thats been missin on sony line up for a long time. but over 2 grand for it? f it, thats really expensive for a apsc camera. this should be like £1000.
The biggest biggest problem with these cameras is that there is no EVF. In sunlight you gonna struggle so much that this will be the last camera you buy without a EVF.
Looks like Sony is still using their latest (horrible) image stabilization. There goes the argument that a smaller sensor is more easily (or more affordably) stabilized.

The stabelization doesn't look any better than the A7IV that is fullframe. It should be like a GH6 at that sensor size.
This camera rocks. Canon is so done for. How Canon gets away scamming people with their R7, R10, and m50 is beyond me.

Random but did the Rode Wireless Go buzz in the recording? They had a huge issue with that on the FX3 (mine included)

Sony should make an accessory EVF for this and the FX3.

You compared the in body stabilization to Panasonic's. Which model were you referring to?

is the IBIS any better than the sony a6600? has that changed or been improved at all? would you be able to compare the two
Ibis is similar to a7s iii, you need to use active stabe to get steadier shots
