hello, great review but there's something very important: the a6700's viewfinder is 0.70 of ratio (in full frame proportion) while the a7iv has a 0.78 ratio, similar to the a77ii and the a99ii. A 0.78 mag viewfinder covers all the area of the eye that needs to focus while the 0.70 finder looks notably smaller even more considering it is indeed smaller, 0.39 inches vs a77ii and a7iv's whooping 0.9 inch finder size.
I have an A7IV but got an A6700+70-350mm lens for the reach. The 200-600mm is so big and heavy and you can get 525mm equivalent with the 70-350mm on an a6700 in a much smaller and lighter setup. The A6700 is also actually better at macro because of the higher pixel-density and focus stacking. Sony might treat APS-C as entry level, but in some ways it really is better than full frame. People were hoping for a high-end APS-C camera in an A7IV body, but it never materialised.
We are travel vloggers and we had an A73 for 2 years and just upgraded in December 2022 to A74…and then a week ago we got an A6700 for a backup light weight camera (plus there are 2 of us so we needed another camera). We are so impressed with the A6700…mostly because of the weight, when we use the A74 with the GM 100-400mm lens it is a very heavy setup…the A6700 with the stock 18-135 lens take great 4k video. We love both cameras for different reasons. Glad we have both!

Would I rather shoot with full frame cameras? Sure. But, given the quality I've been able to get out of the FX30, I am no longer obsessing about full frame. Without a trained eye, I think most people wouldn't notice the differences between full frame or aps-c. You said it all same thing I was saying today, I love the fx30 and I’ll always follow the native iso and I can’t wait to get the a6700 as second camera
Hey bud can you help out a beginner content creator. I have the Sony Zv-e10 mark 1. I just opened it a few months ago with kit lens and bought a sigma 16mm 1.4. For me video is 80% my goal while 20% is photo. Albeit I have the latest Samsung phone and the highest end model for pictures I suppose. I was thinking about getting the mark 2 to the zv-e10. However, I realized the 6700 and fx30 are not much more apart than the mark 2. So my question is for my purposes, woukd you go 6700 or fx30? Understand I've only been in the camera world for 3 months. Or would you invest in another lens beyond the sigma 16mm f1.4 and kit and keep the zv-e10? My goal is shoot video cinematic gym videos of myself and I also had guys in the gym ask me. I go to a gym where a few pro athletes came from and guys like to market themselves through video. Also strength coaches like to see on video their workouts. So I'm mainly video. Also some close up talking head videos. Photos are maybe 20% for just fun like thumbnails or social media. Thanks

My current combo A7iv and zv-e10. That A7iv is a absolute dream camera and that little zv-e10 is great for what it costs. I hope to upgrade the zv-e10 to a FX30 soon. That’s my dream combo. I did consider the a6700 as a swap for the zve10 but I film outside in the heat and elements a lot and that fx30 seems like a tank of workhorse camera
Thanks for this video, but you are wrong about the magnification of the evf. You have to take the aps-c crop into consideration when it comes to the magnification of the a6700. On paper, it HAS a 1.07 magnification, but converted into full frame, this means 0.70 magnification (on a 50mm lens, whereas the a7iv comes in here at 0.78. So it's better on the a7iv then on the a6700.
Unless I misunderstood you, you said that you can't transfer files to a computer on the a7IV via the usb-c port. That is incorrect. I do it all the time.
I have the a6700 which was a great upgrade for the ZV-E10. I have a few lenses that I bought over time for the E10 that I can pop on the a6700 and go to town. For the time being I don't want to spend money on Full Frame until I get better at using the ones I have. There is nothing FF can teach me that I can't learn with what I have. That being said, if I did go FF it would not be with the a7IV because it is old news and I would wait for Sony to release a a7IV MII that had AI and all the other new stuff. Sony is cranking out new and better cameras every 3 months (except for the ZV-1F that was trash). Now if someone gave me a a7IV as a gift I would not turn it down, but for my money I can wait for what come next in 2024. To Sony a firmware update means buying the latest camera for them.

@@thefilmalliance So you can't compare it to each other? In terms of image quality and autofocus? I now have the Sony a7lll. I wonder if it's such a big difference with the Sony a7iv
Thank you very much for sharing this content. I'll probably be getting the Sony A7IV but I dont know if i should wait until Black Friday to see some significant discount or not.. By any chance do you know if equipment like this may get some sort of discount during that season or is it too "new" still?
Thats hard to say. It depends on what you’re using them for. I created a camera quiz to help you figure out which camera is best for you Have you taken it yet?
Your visuals are confusing sir. While Comparing cameras why are you showing difference of s cine and pp mode. Rather just show same version from both cameras and also what you talk and show is different in many clips. Very confusing
I just opened X-S20, first impression? looks way cheaper for the price. Joystick feel cheap like from tamagotchi, also screen feel like cheap plastic. I don't know yet how it works because it has to be turned off while charging(nice for streaming)
uploading the luts in the a6700, will automaticaly apply it to the footage? or it will just act as a assist to record? i'm dying trying to find out this information.
The A7iv is way more expensive then the a6700. It's also full frame, which often means more expensive lenses. There isn't really a competition if you're looking at price to performance. The a6700 will get you 95% of the way to the a7iv for about 40% less money.
I can see what your saying. I believe both cameras are good for different situations. I love the lens options aspect of the a6700. You can get a lot of good quality aps-c lenses on a budget. Which camera did you end up going with?
a6700. Thats actually a great question. I created a camera quiz to help you figure out which camera is best for what you are using it for. Have you taken it yet?
I took some rabbit shots with a telephoto lens, not the kit lens. You can check out in the vid. I thought the quality was unbelievable. Let me know what you think.
I think the A7 III was more revolutionary than either of these cameras, as it combined amazing battery life, auto focus and reliability in a mirrorless camera for less than 2500$ for the first time ever.
In less than one minute, you can say why the a6700 is better than the A74. Not to say the A74 is bad, it is a very good camera. The elephant in the room says it all. The A6700 is now sporting features found the in the A7R5, save for some features like the smaller sensor. The A74 is now a generation older and desperately needs to become the next A7R5 sibling, named the A75. That's enough.
The 67 makes no sense, especially if travel / vlogging is you direction mentioned it’s lighter especially with apsc lens so why put a smaller sensor in the same size body as the A7 ? Travel vlogging etc bulkiness is part of the equation imho 🤷♂️

The TRUTH IS: NEITHER one of them, the Sony a6700 nor the Sony a7IV could be considered great. They are both engineering, tech, mirrorless camera disasters. Both have SERIOUS THERMAL/OVERHEATING/SHUT-DOWN PROBLEMS which Sony has refused to address and correct. Save your money. Shop for the FX3, FX30-active cooling if u still want Sony. Otherwise go for Panasonic-Lumix with their S5ii or S5iiX (both have active cooling). Sony refuses to listen to serious videographers who want a hybrid package which will work ALL THE TIME. So we are being forced to look elsewhere. Panasonic-Lumix and Fuji have joined the bandwagon regarding active cooling hybrid cameras. Obviously with Sony's latest release, the Sony a6700, they have proved again that they want to remain the Ostrich with head in the Sand Company, So Let it Be. 😎😎

I'd catch an arm moving or a change in expression or something minor. But, that is not the camera's fault. All in all, I am very happy with the a6700 and look forward to keeping it for many years to come.
I hear the A6700 has ridiculous overheating problems for an APSC?
Would love to see a comparison with A7C II when it’s released
I have 2 ZVE10.. probably will upgrade to the A6700
That will be a nice upgrade. I'm loving the a6700
Is the Sony a6700 better than the Sony a7iv in terms of image quality and autofocus. I already have a Sony a7lll
I’d say so. But it is an aps-c
@@thefilmalliance
So you can't compare it to each other? In terms of image quality and autofocus? I now have the Sony a7lll. I wonder if it's such a big difference with the Sony a7iv
It is a big difference but it depends on your budget
@@thefilmalliance Which camera has better image quality?
Awesome freaking video man!
Thanks a ton Kamal
Amazing video 👍
Thanks so much. So which camera do you like better?
Thank you very much for sharing this content. I'll probably be getting the Sony A7IV but I dont know if i should wait until Black Friday to see some significant discount or not.. By any chance do you know if equipment like this may get some sort of discount during that season or is it too "new" still?
I’m not sure, but sometimes BH will do a flash sale
Hey bro, can I connect a Sandisk SSD to both cameras using a Type-C connection for storage?
Wait… Did you have a bunny? Instant subscribe! Also great content 🫡
what camera you ideally recommend if i am shooting alot of social media content and youtube videos ?
Thats hard to say. It depends on what you’re using them for. I created a camera quiz to help you figure out which camera is best for you Have you taken it yet?
Great job but the A7 IV usb C is not only for charging the camera you can transfer Data 😊
Thank you, How’d I miss this?
I cant decide if i want better AF or better bokeh. :/
Overheating?
Your visuals are confusing sir. While Comparing cameras why are you showing difference of s cine and pp mode. Rather just show same version from both cameras and also what you talk and show is different in many clips. Very confusing
another p a j eet just complaining nonsense
I just opened X-S20, first impression? looks way cheaper for the price. Joystick feel cheap like from tamagotchi, also screen feel like cheap plastic. I don't know yet how it works because it has to be turned off while charging(nice for streaming)
18:25 clear image zoom question: Does FX30 lose eye AF when clear image zoom is activated?
yes
uploading the luts in the a6700, will automaticaly apply it to the footage? or it will just act as a assist to record? i'm dying trying to find out this information.
I dont know if you found out, but no. The luts only applies in the live view, not the final video file.
The Sony A74 is the one for me
which is better for professional streaming ?
a6700. Thats actually a great question. I created a camera quiz to help you figure out which camera is best for what you are using it for. Have you taken it yet?
comparing full frame to aps-c body, and saying that "i would buy the a6700 for 4k 60, because it has no crop."
watdaheal
This is a good point. Must of slipped up on that one
How is a6700 for wildlife?
I took some rabbit shots with a telephoto lens, not the kit lens. You can check out in the vid. I thought the quality was unbelievable. Let me know what you think.
SONY ZVE10 will be classic after 10 years
So in real I watch your videos in .75x speed in which I can clearly have time to see the footage properly and not just have a quick glance 😂
I think 6700
0:02 Well you're wrong. In 10 years they will be forgotten about.
I think the A7 III was more revolutionary than either of these cameras, as it combined amazing battery life, auto focus and reliability in a mirrorless camera for less than 2500$ for the first time ever.
Rabbits are the BEST pets 😁
I know. What type of rabbit do you own?
What would u suggest for Car videography im open for suggestions! ;p
why is the video so intense
It needed to be
Don’t speak so fast, but good details
I can see what your saying. Thanks, I believe both cameras are good for different situations.
Informative, but maybe you could talk a little faster ...
Thank you
In less than one minute, you can say why the a6700 is better than the A74.
Yes but people like seeing the side by side as well
Editing style of this video is way too intense for me to watch.
the music?
@@thefilmalliance fast cuts and special effects.
I need a xanax after watching this
From the snake?
Great review, but please slow your delivery down a bit, talking way too fast 😊
Huh??
It's a movie
Thanks for the motivation.
Cringy overly done effects, distracting slightly but quality is there.
Thank you for that. I just want to share with you all what I have learned over the years.
The 67 makes no sense, especially if travel / vlogging is you direction mentioned it’s lighter especially with apsc lens so why put a smaller sensor in the same size body as the A7 ? Travel vlogging etc bulkiness is part of the equation imho 🤷♂️
You are talking to fast as if you want to win talking race so i lost many informations why squeezing billions of words in few minutes? No panic. Slow down if possible sometimes is less more.Just like machine gun traaaa traa traaa ...he what did he say? The people who watching your vidz are not all native English speakers. At least i slowed playback to 0.75 of speed in order to catch it all i am not a Cam professional so i need my time ,many others too. Thank you for good video and best regards, you don't need to thank me for this life saving tips. ...talking faster then most woman i meet well not everyone can do this. Rataaaataraaataaarataaa...no stop,no point just rataaaaratttaaa
"Decades to come??" ....seems a bit much of statement. We can barely remember cameras that are two years old. I do enjoy your content but man you talk fast. Maybe time for decaf?
Superior video editing but inferior content
You don’t like?
Both camera are great .
