You guys actually called 2 plot points that were originally in the film, Hannah asked was there a scene cut where they slept together - there was and Ash's symbolisms about the open and closed coffins, the original ending was going to be that Alex sacrifices himself to save Clear and then later she gives birth to their baby.
If there’s any franchise that made me scared to go on planes, drive behind trucks in general, and increased my fear of roller coasters it’s this franchise. Like absolutely creative with the entire premise bringing the audience anxiety with the things surrounding us.

Fun Fact: Final Destination started out as an unused script for an episode of "The X-Files". In that script, Scully’s brother would have been the one who had the premonition on the plane. A lot of the cast and crew of this film worked on "The X-Files", including the writer and director.
Another Fun Fact: Final Destination wasn't the first horror movie to do this concept. There's an '80s horror film called "Sole Survivor" (1983) that follows a woman who survives a plane crash and realizes death is still after her. It's more of a creepy slow-burn than a gorefest, but it's worth a watch!
Also, with the exception of 4, I feel like this franchise managed to hold up pretty well over the course of its sequels.
There is an episode from season 2 of The Twilight Zone called 22 which also had someone having a nightmare and a plane exploding.
sigh. no it didnt. it started as a twilight zone episode called twenty two. first aired feb 10th 1961. the scene with billy standing at the window when the plane explodes is exactly from the episode
Agree that all the sequels were pretty good.
2 and 3 were still fun. It took a nose dive after that. Purely gorn-porn after that from what I remember. Which is weird why they didn't work out, but they just didn't do it for me.
I saw a movie in the past people were falling from bridge and they were dying disguatingly. Is it final destination ?

Hannah is a movie genius. She always figures it out just before the movie tells us.
Umm I’m with Hannah on this, if someone ever got up out their seat freaking out yelling “the plane is gonna explode” and was begging to get off the plane ain’t no way I’m taking my chances I’m outta there lol.
No kidding, I'm not playing around with that shit. I honestly don't believe they would even let the plane take off after that, at least in the US. Talking about explosions on airplanes doesn't go over well here 😬 I feel like they at least want to do a sweep of the plane or something...
This was before 9/11. I guess people were more careless when it comes to planes during this times.

No you wouldn't. People freaking out on a plane is nothing new hence why only the characters that knew each other got off the plane. In reality you wouldn't get off in the moment as opposed.
Go back and see the symbolism at the beginning when stifflers watching the plane take off and the reflection slices right through his head the way the metal piece does.

Exactly , spewing all kinds of possibilities every ten mins doesn't make you a good predictor.its more of a nuisance and annoying disturbance, this person is just stupid, there will always be someone who would agree with anything no matter how stupid and annoying it is. Especially final destination is a old movie and she would have subconsciously remembered spoilers from heresays and overhearing conversations about it in the past. It's like cryptomnesia

The numbers of their flight 180 are in every Final Destination movie. Sometimes it's never mentioned in the other movies but in the background 180 is everywhere
Symbolisms, death just pulls a 180 on everybody.
100% with Ash, in real life, we're more worried about the money spent than having to go through the hassle of rebooking with the potential of losing your money.
this movie is the epitome of symbolism of all symbolism. The second FD literally change the way we drive behind certain type of trucks...
Insane Ash was able to decipher the part where they jump on the coffin!!! I watched this a few times and I never interpret it as that 🤯

The guy who played the coroner was cast in this movie for a reason. He was the actor who played Candyman, a horror
icon from the original Candyman horror films of the 90's. Those films came out years before the Final Destination franchise
was launched. The actor's voice and overall demeanor has always been very menacing. Any horror fan from that era would
have recognized him immediately.
Such a nostalgic movie. Really enjoyed the franchise. Like Ash said, the writing and acting are a little weak, but trying to figure out each death is really compelling.
Picturing Ash in a white room just hanging out with SpongeBob toys is pure comedy to me!
Listening to you telling her that she sounds like an auctioneer made me laugh out loud so hard I was crying 😂😂

This movie came out and molded my thoughts on life and death during my adolescent years and it kinda haunts me to this day.
The “what if” conversation this one spurs reminds me of IT FOLLOWS. Would strongly recommend

I remember watching this movie with a group of friends and one of my friends stood up and left the room. When we asked him what was the problem he said "I have no problem with freddy or jason because they're fictional characters, but death is real". I've never seen such a strong reaction to such a silly billy movie, and yet, I kinda get it.
Really hope you guys finish the final destination series! Final Destination is one of my favorite franchises

Interesting fact you might not have noticed initially: Billy's death was foreshadowed when he watches the plane take off in the beginning. The reflection of the plane moves across his face almost exactly where the shrapnel hits him later on 😅

Late to the comment page and apologize if it's already been said, but fun fact: the scene with the kicked off passengers right after the plane explodes - look at the murals behind each character - it shows how each character will die in the movie.
You were on to something, Ash. Tony Todd (the coroner) did in fact have his own horror film franchise. He was the lead character in the "Candyman" film franchise. You and Hannah doing "The Boys" series will be interesting. Great job reacting to the original Final Destination, Ash & Hannah!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽This film and the sequels are definitely a guilty pleasure.🙂

And actor Tony's character in that Night of the Living Dead was memorable for me, especially when he turned to be a zombie in the last scene of that film...

I think the point about the domino or Rube Goldberg effect was that Death is very, very determined to do its (his?) job, so matter how complicated it has to get in order to defeat all the precautions that people might take.

that symbolism with the coffin was originally gonna actually be true in the original cut of the movie alex dies at the end saving clear but it got negative test reception and they switched the ending

I've been watching horror movies from since I was a little kid. (I'm 45 years old now). THIS movie in particular, has a creep factor
that is unshakeable. I'm not sure how they pulled it off. But this persistent and insidious feeling of impending doom just washes
over the entire film!
