I just saw Billy Joel for the first time live at Madison Square Garden on October 20th, 2023 and what's not so amazing is his band at this jazz festival is the same group who played on October 20th. That speaks so well of Billy Joel.

I agree, this song almost makes me cry, it feels so visceral. Maybe it is a specifically NYC song? Maybe the thought of Harlem burning and Queens drowning doesn't hit everyone the same way? It helps if you really know the city, if Rockaway and Broadway actually mean something to your feet?

He actually forgot to transpose the song down a semitone, so the song accidentally began in the original key, which sounded great! Shame he doesn't give the original key a chance again! But still incredible :-)

Kevin Snyder Yeah I know this is! I meant the if you listen to the bootleg. Editors cut out the the mistake that he did at the beginning as he sang it in the original key for a whole 4 seconds haha!
