Lyrics:
A bottle of white, a bottle of red
Perhaps a bottle of rosé instead
We'll get a table near the street
In our old familiar place
You and I, face to face, mmm
A bottle of red, a bottle of white
It all depends upon your appetite
I'll meet you any time you want
In our Italian restaurant

They NEED to have Billy do the Super Bowl halftime show. The sooner, the better!
Jeff Dunham yesss
Maybe the next time a NY team makes it to the Superbowl. Might take a while though. ::::::sigh:::::::
Indeed
I fully agree
Great, I would so much rather listen to him than the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Aguilera, Lady Whatever, Maroon 5, and the rest of them.
If everybody in the world started their day listening to this, we'd be a whole lot better off...
You are so right, my friend... First thing when entering my car in the morning going to work, is starting Scenes... And believe me, I arrive at my office with a smile on my face every day...:-)
True story
Great song, my favourite. But why would we be better off? Explain yourself, not just make comments.
@@johnkuipers7829 if you need it explained then it won't work for you.
As a Long Islander, we KNOW great Italian food.
Mark Rivera playing the sax like a god!
done it enough times!
Juan-Paolo so epic
Imma make sure my son who plays sees him nail that sax down like a champ!
He is the sax god
I thought it was Billy Bones! Well, awesome either way.
Hasn't lost a bit of his voice. Probably the best piano player in the biz.
Tim Anderson It's amazing isn't it. He's one of the only aging guys in the business that still sounds the same.
Tim Anderson he does sound very good so many years later
Of course is he Billy Joel he is the Piano man!
nice
*very nice
You know what? He's just awesome. the worlds a better place cause of people like Billy Joel

Mer Ershad polloor
I had the privilege of taking in the concert at Shea,I know it is one of the best things I could have ever shared and will rest in my memory for the rest of my days.
In my opinion this is one of the best lyrical songs ever written.
It is amazing how Billy sounds exactly like he does on the record.
I think because he doesn't ecit his voice much.
Thank his sound man ;)
Amazing really sounds just like the album
There have been a few signs of tireness on his recent tours, but he still sounds better than most of the modern artists
Not really bud. This is 2 half-steps down & 36 years later, but go with it...
this man right here is who inspired me to play piano & 47 years later I still do , he’s an absolute legend in the music industry.
Amazing that Sax man Mark Rivera stayed with Billy Joel for over 30 years!
Who can compete with this
How genius is it to have the Preservation Hall jazzers at this gig? Makes me love this song even more. Way to go, team!
One of the only artists that sounds even better live
Hmmm.... Maybe Queen, ABBA, Adele, Pink etc..... But agree! Not many!
An Australian singer Grace Knight though was priceless live..... Recorded was just never the same after I'd heard her live!
Totally agree!
Ahh you’ve never heard an Aussie….we only listen to live!I love Billy Joel, but try any John Farnham or Jimmy Barnes, & only live!
Just saw Howard Jones live. He's still got it also.
I love how not only Billy's having a good time, but it seems like the rest of the band are enjoying themselves too.
That drummer is so happy
B
I_Like_It_Here iiióo
Yes, I love the way all the musicians are enjoying themselves. The drummer is great, and the saxophone player is right out there.
Is it still Mark Rivera on sax?
Thank you Billy ....formative years where busting suds in an Italian restaurant.....
America is a better place for having Billy Joel in it. God bless him.
My favorite Billy Joel Song. He puts so much into his performances. A true musician is better live than on a recording.
Agreed.
My favorite as well... not just Billy Joel song, but one of my favorites, period. It's a masterpiece.
Unless yer Tool and your whole perfomance is as clean as the recordings. 😁
hes much better in live version than the recording
Anyone who can actually sing is always, always going to be better live!
I saw Billy Joel live in the 80s in Sydney, Australia! Awesome concert!
Ariv Gomez Theres an album called A Matter Of Trust bridge to russia where it’s Billy singing a lot of his songs live in russia if you prefer live! I know i do 😂
My very first concert was Billy Joel. He was awesome live and a real showman. To this day, there's hasn't been anyone better.
No dancers no props just plain great MUSIC what a great artist!
How can you NOT have a great time at a Billy Joel concert? He's a national treasure!!
That sax solo always takes me to another planet!
Me too.. an absolutely amazing solo !
This is Billy Joel's favorite Billy Joel song...yes it is
the greatest musician ever
I wish I could marry your strong and powerful vocals and your insane piano skills Billy😍, but seriously your talent is overwhelming and beyond amazing.
Scenes from an Italian Restaurant is a master piece. Superb.
Damn that was fantastic, Billy Joel is an American Legend!

From his writing and song structure, this man is just plain genius!
What an Italian Restaurant!
What a talent. 30 years later and he's still as good, possibly better, his voice is deeper and richer. Thanks for the great music and wonderful memories it brings.
Rob Holden He is a national treasure.
30 years later ? This song is from 1977 and the video is from a 2013 festival
One of the best artist ever....
The real deal, the maestro "a magnificent real star real, nothing fake, false , a magnificent song writer
At 2:15, I was completely surprised, it's probably the greatest institutional band in human history sneaking out on stage.
Everyone’s loves Piano Man but this song makes me tear up every single time. It’s about old friends and times gone by. As I get older this hits me harder each time.
his best song IMO,...never gets old for me and I have been to that Italian restaurant in LI
Me and my wife- this song always - Billy hasn’t changed and we haven’t either! Still much in love - we love this man ❤️
One of the great talents God Bless him.

Saw Billy Joel with Elton John many many years ago in Montreal- 1 of The Greatest Concerts I’ve ever seen- what a show!! To Many More Years Billy!!😎👍🍿🍿🍿
Wish I had seen them together.
I saw them together in Syracuse NY. I will say it til the day I die Billy Joel was much better then Elton John that day. And the crowd was there for Billy and tolerated Elton John. They probably knew it too so played into it.
My favorite BIlly Joel song here
Hello Daniel, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. Looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind thank you
That sax player is just having the best time.
I loved the inclusion of the New Orleans Jazz Band.
Wow.. 40 years later.. amazing
Amazing how he still sounds the same over 30 years later
over 40 now...think this album was 1977.
@@scottpowell5605 but this performance was in 2013, so 34 years after the album if you were referring to this video
@@narrabeenstudent7027 True...but I can't say MY voice has changed, even in 34 years. So the original poster's comment still stands. Billy's still going strong!
Legendary icon👑👑🐐🐐
Love it EVERYTIME .,,,,,,,,Fukn wicked Billy
Greatest. Song. Ever.
One of the best music videos...ever.
One of his greatest songs, Hounered to watch this legend live in Hamburg, Germany in 2018 :)
I love the Blues and Dylan and the grateful tunes.
But THIS ONE...
People like Billy makes America great all the time... not other wat
How did I suddenly stumble on Billy Joel; not exactly sure but hearing him live reminds me of a friend back in college '76 dragged me along to the music hall on campus to hear this 'Piano Man' I'd never heard of until a few days before..... Can still visualize it; gentle breeze walking to the Hall and hearing this amazing musician and the rest is history.
In a word_ magnificent. Billy Joel is a true craftsman.
There’s a goosebump section in every song he does. True American icon.
I'm gettin' on a bit now, but when you've played and followed music all your life and never really 'made it', it's the proper artists you look back on like this bloke here. My enjoyment in music, comes from the nostalgia and inner sense of this blokes wonderful application to the art of music.
Marvellous Billy Joel!!!
Great performance , and I Love the array of emotions expressed through the instruments and vocals……….the sax was 👏 awesome
Hello Kelvin, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. Looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind thank you

Saw him in concert, freakin amazing!!! Then listened to the whole concert on the radio on the way home.
Everything Billy sings is absolute magic.
he still nailed it! still looks year 76' Lol.
Catching one of his concerts is on my Bucketlist! Love his music and that he stays so humbled.
MR !!!!!!!!!!!! beautiful Sax Bravo
Man I love this song so much. Piano at 3:41 gets me every time.
Saw him last night, 1/22/16, in Tampa. GREAT concert & this song rocked the arena.
Proper song smith, proper performer, proper musician . There is no one who can touch him. Respect. 🙏
Mark Rivera and David Rosenthal, albeit being highly demnded studio and live session players, never misses Billy Joel's shows. I wonder how they have managed their schedules over this long period.
wow, his music is still awesome.
love this song... brings back good memories
i hear this song live twice so far..with the 3rd time coming this July. Absolutely amazing. like an outer body experience.
jason copin Couldn't agree more... except it's "out of body"
My swyping skills apologize most profoundly
Damn - what a great performance. The man still has it!
This song takes you on a journey of someone's life. Through lyrics I can picture everything so clearly. Brings a tear to my eye honestly.
Love to see his Sax player is still with him.....
The GREATEST show that Billy Joel put on at the JazzFest was during a wretched thunderstorm with a torrential downpour a few years after Katrina. I was there! Right up front!
You never see a sax player ham it up like that... and it's AWESOME. :D
Love this guy and his band
I was living in westchester county working as a nanny when i first heard this song and every time i hear it i think of little italy. It is my favorite Billy Joel song with the exception of a later Love song he composed. Incredible🌎🎼🚴🎶
I just love listening to his music. He has a voice that never really changes but possibly gets better with age. To me he is a living legend.

Oh my God...All greats. So I'm going to list mine, but I can't tell you the order. My list has a bunch of really obscure ones because they were just a major part of my life at different times. If you are a true Billy fan, you'll know them all. Here they are:

Okay, that's eleven. "But this one goes to eleven!" BJ makes the 11 Spinal Tap joke in his "A Matter of Trust" video, btw.
Haha yeah those are all great songs.
I love seeing Vienna on the list, it's an underappreciated gem. And there's not a better song to chill out to when you're feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Hairs standing up on my arm just love this u r awesome Billy Joel
Billy Joel is the only artist I listen to where the albums and live sound as amazing as ever.
It's so wierd, I wasn't a Billy joel fan, I was a kid but my dad let me sneak down and watch behind the couch, I knew I had to be quite, it was the Wembley concert I've been enamoured ever since.
Greatest of all time
As much as the 52 street band fans don't want to hear it, THIS band is much better. I saw BJ in Concert a number of times over the years, the original band was excellent, but this band is better. As much as I liked Liberty Devito's high energy, he PLAY TOO LOUD. This drummer plays the songs great without trying to steal the show. Mark Rivera is the only member of his "New York" touring band that is still with Billy. He's great, he's better than ever. The other musicians are an upgrade from the original touring band. They know their role and faithfully reproduce the original songs Live. Great Show.
he is still going strong :))))

Billy Joel knows how not to fuck up one of his songs. Plays it like the album perfectly. I love this version better than the studio version. A+ musicians
It's just impossible to tire of this man, his talent, unique strories & his once in a lifetime voice - (and a great kick ass back up band to boot)- what more can one's musical heart desire?!?
