My first space horror movie when I was 17. I totally loved it but it prevented me from sleeping well for months... The great actors, the mind-blowing story, the set designs, the script, the Alien..., everything is perfect there.
10:33 I remember hearing of this scene. It is supposed to show how the eggs are not laid by a mother but are being created from humans or other beings. In this case, he is transforming into an egg slowly. I kind of hate that conception, but it gives a lot of new ways to make new stories.
That was actually fairly good considering the time limit. You captured the essentials. I don't agree entirely with which scenes or dialogues you've included, but it's still good, I like how you showed the slow moments of the movie before the crew wakes up, since it's essential in conveying the basic atmosphere. Nonetheless, I gotta say that one should watch the movie in it's entirety.
What i find staggering about this film is even now in 2023 it seems way ahead of its time certainly technology wise the craft/computer systems dont even seem to be invented the Internet even seems to be a thing of the past the whole thing is timeless.
Thank you, good sir. Superb! Just the lovely memories to tickle old sleeping brain cells! IMHO your editing is perfect. Long story, details on request. No complaints.
My idea for a third alien covenant/prometheus movie is as follows: The engineers are the main characters in the movie and comes to the planet that was in the Prometheus movie. There they find Weyland inside the crashed spaceship. They have a blue elixir which they empty all over him and bring him to life. But while doing this the Deacon from the Prometheus movie sneaks into their spaceship and hide it self in one of the ventilation chambers. In the next part they arrive at the planet from alien covenant and find the other robot(Walter) who is david's twin. The engineers use the blue elixir and repairs him. Once awaken the engineers and Weyland get to know all the horrible things that David has done, and weyland says "we have to stop David" . They set course for origae. When they arrive, they scans all the planet, and finds the planet is full of hostile organisms except on a high mountain where they discover that there are humans inside a cave. Inside the cave they meet a herd of children, who tell that when they had lived on the planet for over ten years, they began to be attacked by Xenomorphs and all the adults died or were turned into these creatures. There were also great giants developed by someone the children calls David. The engineers get ready to wipe out all the Xenomorphs that David has created, but the great giants manage to escape with one of the engineers' spaceships. The engineers and Weyland hunts the spaceship and manage to force the spaceship down on the planet lv426.Where it start sending a distress signal. The engineers return to Origae to find David, but discover that he has escaped. In the last part we see David arriving and meeting an unknown alien species on a tropical like planet. But when he and the unknown aliens have left the spaceship, the deacon slips out of the ship and is seen running toward the nearest settlement. And that makes the cliffhanger that ends the third movie.
@Stew Bedazzle They do eat. First what Is in the grain, then what is around in soil. You should be fun at parties if you really believe plants doesn't need anything to grow.
According to the movie and the book it grew that tall within less than 12 hours! It ate the food from the crew's food storage (only in the book, not in the movie).
Yes, it is. But it really makes the movie work, so to speak. When we first encounter the adult monster, that scene was either going to be a smash-hit (and really make the movie, and make it captivating and engaging), or it was going to be terrible and quite possibly quite pathetic (and so thus quite possibly basically ruin the movie, as a whole); that scene is much like the crux of the movie, basically.
Scott incited the other actors to Sigourney, tricked them, and the contradictions between them somehow solved the always delicate problem of managing actors. This makes it so serious, perfect, alive movie.
@stxyn That's because you never saw it before! It was cut from the original release and only reinstated in the 2003 Director's Cut. Before that hardly anybody had ever seen it.

It is an excellent and famous cinematic-scene. But it was also a dreadful idea (to search for the cat, alone and under such basic circumstances). Brett should have ceased searching for the cat, especially when he noticed and picked-up the shed skin of the alien. What a terrible idea. Screw the cat. A great and memorable scene, nonetheless. One of the great death-scenes in all of cinema. And quite possibly the greatest movie-monster in all of cinema, as well, no doubt.
