I saw this in Boston when it came out in 79.
The Charles: old school opera, red velvet - everything, majestic opera seating theater,
It was perfect for it.
When it was over, everyone filed out, nobody was saying a word.
Everyone was fucking stunned by what they just witnessed.
I'll never forget it..
Similar experience - 1950's style cinema in Leeds UK. Same stunned silence as everyone was leaving. I remember my stomach muscles actually hurt from the 30 mins of pure adrenaline in that last reel. It's stayed with me. One of the greatest movies of all time.

They just don't make em' like that anymore..
Leeds- I can't help but think of The Who when hear Leeds..
@@RSTI191 Yes, good band but I'm more of a Led Zeppelin guy! Coming to Laconia, NH in Aug. The U.S. is my second home 😁
@@jonny-dn
Nice up there in New Hampshire..
If you haven't been, I'd say wait a couple of months when the leaves change colors. Nowhere else like it anywhere else..
Me too. Old school opera house movie theatre called The York in Montreal. After the chest burster scene, everyone erupted it in deliriously nervous applause.
The greatest haunted house in space!
Thoroughly enjoying this restored edition. Keep up the good work 🍿
Most of the deleted or edited scenes were done so for good reason with this film. They diluted the creepy horror aspect of the movie. I fist saw this when I was about 5 years old around 1984 scared the crap out of me😅
So ..... i dont get it people,, i try to upload this movie in parts on youtube in the past,,,, and it was IM-PO-SI-BLE to reproduce (copy-rights claims) 20century Fox, Sound-band claims, and Disney Claims ....whats the deal now???
A number of lame revisionists uploads of 6:15 have fooled people by adding audio that was never in the cut. But 6:15 IS the real audio as it was arranged on former Blu Ray editions of
A L I E N.
This is the version I think is in my deleted scenes Alien DVD from early millennium. The sound is different in the Quadrilogy directors cut.
I recently saw a "restored" version on RUclips using the alarm sound used throughout the original theatrical trailer - which viewers now wrongly believe to be the proper transmission...
@@reading_MOVIES Precisely!
ABSOLUTE PROPS for having this up on RUclips!
I don't why they never released all of these additional scenes on bluray!
It is SO NICE seeing all this additional footage!
The cutting room is man's WORST INVENTUON!
I hate this edit……Ruins the long, slow, nerve-wracking build-up that builds tension and establishes character. The original is one of my favourite films.
La mejor película de CF por siempre. Sigourney Weaver mágica única talentosa, leyenda!
Great movie. Saw when released in 1979. The first sci fi movie to explore the grungy realism of commercial life in space.
Really liked the eerie descriptor of the alien warning signal in the novel
3:51. Mr Fusion
I prefer the original ominous ringing sound over the typical and overused tape flutter effect on the signal.
agree
Best movie ever
Sounds like the audio of the "warning" was created by vocoder-like narrowband filtering of possibly normal speech.
I HAVE THIS MOVIE ON DVD AND SEGORNIE WEAVER WAS IN THIS MOVIE AND SHE WAS IN ALIENS AND I HAVE ALIEN ON DVD AND SEGORNIE WEAVER IS IN THIS MOVIE 😁
I was 8 when my mate took to the cinema to watch this (she was the projectionits). I couldn't go upstairs and had to have the light on in bed; my first angling trip when I passed my test in 1989 comprised fishing into dark on my own. A breeze got up and a tree creaked....IT ALL CAME BACK!
Great work, loved the edits and the additional footage.
6:16 THANK YOU for using that particular audio of the signal.
Still love that haunting backdrop music.
Jumpy as hell. Ruins the slow creepy revival of the ship and crew. It also destroys the organic introduction of the characters and the growing tension between them.
👍exactly!
Lol..ok..😂😂😂
😂 not
ALIEN
BEST MOVIE EVER 😎
The Nostromo looks a huge castle in space love this I've got the directors cut of the film
3:42 Mr Fusion (BTTF) on the back wall.
HR GIGER should take credit not U.S production company
I've heard that the original "sound" used for the signal was different than the one that Ridley chose to include on his Directors Cut and that the original was far creepier but idk. Never heard it.
your heard it right.... this sounds is creepier 6:16
You forgot to add a logo/label on top right-hand corner:)
Hello, Mr. Fusion.
Always wondered why he woke up first only to die first, if there was ever a relation.
maybe,,, i always tink the facehugger´s select strong victims (at first)...
5:24 same audio effect used in Space:1999
There were some really great movies from 1979 Alien,THE Warriors,And Justice for All just to name a few!
life of brian?
6:22 If you are a 70s kid in the UK your parents might have had those tupperware cups. I did but was a year too late to save it from my mum throwing them out before i realised the prop masters used them for Alien. 😕
I’m a 70’s kid in America & we had those tupperware cups too. Also, the pen that Dallas takes from Brets pocket to touch the acid was an erasermate 2. It was a pen that was designed to erase ink. They were really popular when I was in 6th grade which was 1979 for me.
i enjoyed the conspicuous reebok product placement shot
Can't tell you how many times I've watched this film and not noticed that there's two dipping birds. I've always just remembered one..
and if everyone is in stasis - who rocked the bird?
I wonder if this was a different shot, because I thought it was just one as well. And not ones with little flat peg legs.
I always though the dipping bird (or birds) would have been a great collectible. The real one from the movie is likely worth a few dollars.
Mandela effect.

What is the Nostromo towing How does space mining work in this world
-mineral ore
-asteroid and planet mining by Weyland-Yutani
Loving this 👌👍🏻👍🏻
Loved the original audio on the signal. Never seen that quick shot of Lambert sitting up in the pod. Awesome
What is the bump as it pans past the rustling papers?
Blooper.
Has anyone noticed that Ash's profile in "his" comfy window seat (12:11 f.) resembles that of the "space jockey" in its chair?
Now THAT'S the alien signal that sent chills through me when I first heard it in the "Extras" part of the first DVD release. Not the toned down one in the "Director's Cut" release.
5:57 Ash wearing shirts with wrong sleeves, is a little clue that he is nutty.
The bird is the word
Upside down Soda stream coffee machine
& a much better warning signal
Promo SM
Excellent! I saw the original at a cinema in 1979, and it didn't look anything like as good as this!
Ggggu
Ash says “roll 92 degrees starboard yaw” and the ship rolls to the left 🙄
The signal is this version is sh*t compared with the directors cut and theatrical trailer version that was far scarier and more dramatic.
The solar system has enough ore to last humanity an eternity so maybe they should have called it unobtanium, wait a minute…
At 1:17..
Who is refilling the cups for the dunking birds?
Thank you friend i really enjoyed it thanks 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks for wathing? :)
This is simply brilliant, sir 😊
Gives a size of ship
Great space horror
Great job as always
The absolute
why didn't the last 3 survivors decide to escape in that small ship they use to go down to the planet, they decided to use that small escape pod that only takes 3. this ship here could take 4 or more, it could take the whole crew as it shows here.
Do you mean the Nostromo ship? ..the crew landed on the planetoid with it. Alien and all events were aboard the Nostromo.
Blowing up the Nostromo and escaping on the Narcissus shuttle was a way for the crew to defeat the Alien
@@allsortofmovies no they didnt land on the planet with the nostromo, they used a small drop ship, watch the movie
@@allsortofmovies the alien got on the ship because they left the planet in that ship and took kane with them.
@@allsortofmovies they could have used the ship they went to the planet in.and that wasn't the nostromo.
@@archangelmusic13 ruclips.net/video/niG7RQiacS4/видео.html
They don't make films like they used to.
So, why stop at 12:53? Maybe there's a different ending ...I hope! 🤞
Fabulous
The original WOKE movie. All the men die with weapons and flamethrowers. Yet a naked woman in a space suit and a cat manage to kill the Alien. So WOKE.
Jeesh you are bitter
NateWhitehorse sounds like Jerry Seinfeld: fantasizing about toxic masculinity. Would've been the first to die for sure.
So so tired and over anyone who uses woke as an adjective. It is lame, and people have abused it so much it means nothing. You look stupid to a larger and larger group of people
With a formatted brain, past, present and future will look like “that”. Btw, define it for humanity’s sake
