You don't give Sepultura a second chance... Sepultura gives you a second chance. 🤘🏽
Loll winner
Hahaha this is awesome. :)
lmao Awesome...
Metallica is a gateway drug to Sepultura.
Dr Fate haha this comment made my day😆😁
Every single song of this album is brilliant. This is not an exaggeration. One of the best metal albums.
I think Beneath the Remains is imo
Yes, but Chaos is up there too
Lmao I just listened front-to-back and you are correct! Brilliant
@@Alalu then listen to the previous album, beneath the remains, it's the better one

For me, this song has the greatest breakdown in the history of metal. I'm Indonesian, but... *Sepultura do Brasil !!!*
Hahaha Nice. SEPULTURA DO BRASIL!
The breakdown is so f'n heavy..1st song I ever heard by Sepultura when it came out
Same for the breakdown!
You have quite a Punk music scene there 👍
Agree dude. When reaching Lebakbulus stadium was totally imaginable (compared by presence of JORR currently), all sounds were awesome in riots.
Sepultura one of the greatest metal bands to ever exist.

You can't deny Igor Cavalera on those drums. Dude is a beast
One of the coolest musicians I have ever met.
Fantastic drummer. Horrible kick drum sound. Very typical of that era, though.
Was a beast, check out Eloy Casagrande's channel on YT he is the new drummer, the guy is a MONSTER
@Lightbringer Then you don't really know what drumming is, the skills the guy has are not from this world
My favorite drummer Igor Cavalera👍👍🌟🌟👌👌
When i meet a brazilian, I don't shout at him "Pele". I calmly say "oh, Sepultura, maaan". They're so proud of them. And i'm a fan. A great fan. Thank you Brazil
Hey man, we are really proud of them. If you allowed, I would like to recommend you other metal bands from Brazil, like Sarcófago, Korzus, Krisium and Violator. I think The Laws Of Scourge, from Sárcofago, the best brazilian metal album along with Arise.
@@victorrocha2488 Thanx, man. Great music! So Brazil had some scene back then. I didn't knew. I think The Laws Of Scourge is a masterpiece. Thank you again. Greets from Romania

Yeeees! Been trying to get 'em to listen to Desperate Cry for a long time now.
But DEC is a great song too.
YES thanks for reminding me
The drums at the end of the track are unhuman and unbelievable. Amazing album.
My favorite metal song no lie
8:50 One of the greatest moments in metal history.
This my 1st dog from Sepultura and a close relative showed me while he played it so loud that I told him to run that back over 5x. True story, My sister was there and she digged it as well while she was a gangster rap fan
But she digged it. Fkn Awesome moment for me!

The part you guys don't like is when the mosh pit turns into a vortex of pain and suffering.
They don't totally get extreme thrash yet, but it's forgivable. They have come a long way in the past few years.
It's a D-Beat. It's all over early 80s British punk.
"vortex of pain and suffering" exactly hahahaha
George likes it. Ryan will too, it’s just takes time with some people. In the beginning I wanted that in every song. It’s a punk rock thing.

The thing about the super fast bits is that they actually serve the sick grooves, creating antecipation, dynamics and making each the transition and breakdown memorable

"face melting"
The George stank face is the first thing I watch in the metal reactions. It means either George likes it or Ryan farted...bad! Either way it makes for a fun watch.
Lmao right
Or Ryan is just a farter ...

Their album Beneath The Remains is by far a masterpiece.

Long Live SEPULTURA!
As a Brazilian, seeing you guys react to old school Sepultura warms my heart. Love you dudes
Btw do Desperate Cry next, please
The entire album is great. This is when they were at their pinnacle. Lots of riff and tempo changes. Kind of surprised you didn't talk about the drums. 😋 You may want to follow it up with the next song, "Desperate Cry".
Definitely, desperate cry. Altered states as well
Great production on that album..massive drum sound.
Morris sound studios Tampa Area did the recording in the time period of the beginnings of the Tampa death metal scene and Iced Earths rise
@@csears0824 That's the early Scott Burns mix. Andy Wallace did the final mix to the version that we all know & love.
yessss!!!
The tempo changes on this album are epic!!
That fast drum beat is a classic "Thrash beat", but you're just not into those beats Ryan, which is understandable. They're not meant to groove as much as they're meant to be fast and aggressive, and when they break back into the groove beats, they compliment and intensify each other. But being a Bay Area Thrash Metal drummer, I'm super happy you guys dig Thrash. 😁
I guess the thrash beat is meant for the mosh, the experience of going through a thrash concert
I'm a fan of thrash, but this fast snare just doesn't sound intense to me. Blast beats and machine gun double bass just sounds better to me. The fast snare drowns the rest of the instruments and sound awkward to me
I generally don't like the fast snare, but I think blast beats are way overused. Thrash has plenty of room for more creative use of drums than blast beats and fast snares.
The "blast beat" was prominent in hardcore punk, which always made me wonder why the two camps were always at odds.
@@DennisDWest What are some good examples of this early on in hardcore? I can see what you mean when hardcore punk veers into powerviolence but maybe I just don't know of other bands that did before that.
Two of the most underrated musicians on metal, Igor and Kisser.
Because their career is so complicated, new fans don't know what to do. They seperated into 3 bands, and those bands produced albums like a machine. Exact opposite of Metallica. Being a fan of Igor and Max is HARD.
@@serhafiye7046 I can respect your view point however I think they are not recognized or at least praise enough among old fans either.
This album was magic from beginning to end.
NOW WE'RE TALKING!!!! HAHAHAAHAHAHA.. SEPULTURA, OUR NATIONAL TREASURE! SEPULTURA DO BRASIL! Now do REFUSE/RESIST, TERRITORY and INNER SELF, please!!! Cheers from Brazil guys!
@ Gustavo Correa Blasphemy! Territory and Refuse/Resist has nothing to do with Beneath the Remains and Arise. Since 1993 seemed to me that Sepultura just got grunged.
I'm a metalhead that grew up with Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Metallica and some of the most obscure bands in metal. I'm also a guitarist that's played in death metal bands for 30+ years now. I want you guys to know how much I respect and admire you guys for what you're doing. If I ever meet you two, the first few rounds are on me. Thanx guys.

I think All Nightmare Long by Metallica but that's my opinion
@@markhammond4517 I just went and listened to it. (not been that big a fan since the Black Album) They just don't have the aggression they had back then. what was the first Sep song they did?
Ok nvm, they literally say it at the beginning of the vid ;)
sepultura in metal is like a tribe called quest in hip hop
I like the fact that they said they associate metal in the 80s with thrash metal. A lot of people were into hair bands back then and I wasn't a fan of hair bands. They're okay but thrash was what I liked.
The heaviest breakdown ever! I have never seen any better/heavier breakdown than the one in this song!!
🤔 it's great but hard to say the greatest when there are many songs on the album that have the greatest breakdown ever. Subtraction has a breakdown that still today will silence all metal bands. Just sayin
Yep it's right up there with Domination and Reign in Blood and many other classics
This is one of the first metal songs I heard, and I fell in love with it immediately. Been listening to metal now for ~32 years, and I still love it just as much now as I did the first time I heard it! Thanks gents!
You guys should react to Symptom of the Universe from Black Sabbath.. its considered by most metalheads to be the first thrash song and it is EPIC!! Great review btw 🤘

Sepultura é um orgulho nacional! Vida longa ao metal do Brasil!
I saw Sep at the very first ozz fest. In phx. It was cool what they did. Someone related to the band had been murdered in phx and the case was still unsolved. So every band that night.. all 9.. took time to show pictures and talk about what happened and asked for the crowd to spread the word and try and help get answers.. it was moving. And also.. u think of these guys as evil.. but at the end of their set they brought their kids on stage and had them all play traditional instruments. It was really cool.
Even I voted for Refuse/Resist... I have to admit that Dead Embryonic Cells was the song that hooked me with Sepultura. Late 80's in the island of PR, It was very cool to know that awesome metal can come from a tropical place!!! I got myself a drum set!!!! Cool reaction guys.

These guys explained that they wouldn't do more Pantera because of Phil's racist bullshit. Understandable, there's no room for hate in music, it's about community and love. Phil is obviously a troubled soul, and maybe could use a sit down interview with Ryan and George to get to the root of the issue - i do believe people can change.
