It's actually true. I'm a drummer and when you're absorbed in playing you get lost in a weird state of mind which is hard to describe. I used to go drive cars really fast on a circuit and it's a similar feeling, or when you're doing mountain biking down a very fast and difficult path. You become so focused on the present moment that everything else sort of vanishes and you enter a special zone. It's like a meditative state of mind. I think this why so many people become obsessed about becoming good at this sort of thing, this is probably the only feeling that can become as addictive as sex. Sex also does a similar effect if done correctly (as in allowing yourself to be lost in the passion of the experience). To me all of the disciplines that can take a human being to this state of mind should be considered artforms.

I am sure that Danny himself would agree with much that he had to say. He has studied rhythm so long and at such breadth including rhythms in regions not so far from where this video was recorded to be the master that he is. The craziest thing about watching Danny is that you can tell he really intends to use each hand, and each foot differently, at the strength and timing he does, and you get a clear view of it when a camera is on the guy. It's so impactful. It's just insane. This guy's got a good 20 years on me, and he's got twice the endurance I do too. Never mind the skill, which is about 1,000,000x greater than anything I could ever manage. So great to witness.

I love this video and tho I’m a drummer I will never be in Danny’s level. I got to see Tool live and yes it was hands down the best concert out of hundreds I have seen. The burning question I have now it this… will you please do another reaction to the song itself. I think these guys will really be wowed cause it’s deep! I really like the guys doing the reaction. I know they would like the song and will pick it apart to get its meaning.

Wow, what a choice for their first "drum cam" reaction - this is the aduIt sized serving! I play the drums, and I can confirm that Danny Carey is definitely an Ustad to us. In English, I would call him a Master without a doubt. And tell Muharam that he's got rhythm, so he should absolutely take up a percussion instrument if his heart wants to. I saw an article the other day about an 89 year old woman in the UK who took up the drums well into her 80s and plays with a group in pubs - he's got a few decades of a head start on her! ✌️😎

Hearing Muharam trash talk Maynard is *very* funny. Sober would be an excellent song to see his reaction to, as well as Puscifer's "Breathe," specifically the live version that's paired with "Grand Canyon" here on youtube. Maynard is one of the most talented singers of our age and I think Muharam might appreciate some of his other work.
