Abdul's insights into these performances always seem to hit the core meaning of the message of these songs. Even when he does not understand the language, he still seems to feel the human emotion behind it.
And he was spot on stating Phil was a musician before he was a singer. Exactly as it happened. Peter Gabriel left Genesis, Phil stepped up and started singing as well. Abdul never ceases to amaze me.
Abdul has great perception and insight when he says, " I think he must have had a lot of worries in life. Illness comes either when you worry or think too much." "...he undoubtedly had more inner wounds than outer ones." God bless you all at Trybals.🙏
I've watched a few of these Tribal videos now. Can I assume that Abdul is a tribal elder? He sits there nodding quietly then comes out with the most sage insightful comments. It's a joy to watch.
G'day from Australia 🇦🇺 I love how these tribal men understand exactly what the song is about without understanding English 😊 It just shows that music is a universal language ❤
Abdul is so incredibly wise. I always love listening to what he has to say. Thank you SO MUCH for the English subtitles so that we can understand what they are saying! Sending love from South Africa!
I just love to see people hear this song for the first time.. it is an incredible song.. and that moment when he comes in with the drums. Brilliant reaction from a surprisingly open minded group of guys.
I have watched In The Air tonight and hear it on the radio over 100 times and no matter how many times I watch it or hear it, the moment Phil plays drums, I get chills and good bumps all over. I am glad everyone loved and seeing their reaction was priceless. Love and blessings to you all.
I find, no matter how many times I watch this performance, I am holding my breath at the end. I don't realize that until the very end, when Phil releases the pressure and I can breath again! Amazing. (and such breath control Collins has to make it all seem so effortless)
This was an excellent choice of a song. It's unique, even in the context of the time it was released. These gentlemen had good insights on what they observed while listening. Good stuff.
I saw Phil Collins in concert many years ago...and it was one of thee most fantastic concerts I had ever seen! I am so glad you all were able to experience his incredible music. As the gentlemen were reacting to what they were hearing and seeing, it actually brought tears to my eyes. Music is the bridge that allows us all to be as one! ❤
"Wait for it" Excellent suggestion. It's so unusual to drop the beat half way through the piece. It changes the whole tone in an instant. Thanks for sharing this one.
Love the intensity Abdul gives to what he is watching. And to hit the nail on the head about phil and drumming, how did you guess that? Its not often i watch stuff like this but i absolutely love your reactions.
You all appreciated a true legend! Life/time has not been kind to him physically, BUT HE HAS given us some if the GREATEST music from the 80s! His live performances with Eric Clapton would be worth looking at! God Bless ✝️🙏🏻
I am so glad you played this song! I love it! The surprising sudden drum playing is epic! Thank you for sharing this one! I could watch this song forever! He has said in interviews that he wrote this song while going through a divorce.
It always surprises me how accurate Abdul is in his analysis of a song without knowing the lyrics just by using the music and the performance by the artist.
Wow, I've been watching a lot of reactions on both this and Adnan's private channel and generally like them a lot (that's why I'm coming back...) - this was a special one, please give my kindest regards to your guests, they are amazing people! Peace and love from Bavaria!
Wow!!! I was literally watching this performance this morning! I am always humbled to see someone enjoy new music/ experiences… especially from a culture I have little knowledge of. Thank all of you for sharing this!!!
I love hearing what Abdul has to say. He's open minded, non-judgemental, and appreciative of music and poetry. No disrespect to anyone else, of course. I just have a soft spot for Abdul. 😊🎉
Its amazing that Phil Collins is the only musician to play in the same concert in two different continents. He started the Live Aid concert in London then flew on Concorde to the US a d took part in the same worldwide concert tnere.
Love, hugs and great appreciation to these gentlemen, from Chicago. So enjoy this channel and the intellectual insights from the other side of the world.
The most iconic divorce song on the planet! Love watching people react to this performance! Such a mesmerizing experience! Your insight is spot on! Phil has a wonderful catalog of great music!😎✌🏻
*If anyone thinks the size of this crowd is impressive, in July 1987 Phil played four consecutive sellout nights at the 80,000-capacity Wembley Stadium with Genesis. It was a record at the time and stood for five years until Michael Jackson played seven nights. In 1986/1987 Genesis were likely the biggest musical act on the planet, as in addition to the four nights at Wembley their 1986 album 'Invisible Touch' went to No.1 in the US and spawned a remarkable five Top 5 US singles. This of course was also in the midst of Phil's incredible solo success.*
"something is in the air tonight" means that you have a sense of impending doom. When he sang "coming in the air tonight" he means that the doom is imminent, he can feel it.
I got to see Phil with Genesis twice on their Mama tour. Phil was an incredible showman, has a wonderful sense of humor, he was a great front man and vocalist and an astonishing drummer. His drums have a familiar "bark" and you could always tell when Phil was playing on a song on the radio in the 80s. He's 1 of 1.
I almost skipped this one! I'm so glad I didn't! I loved the editing of this one, showing all three guests together at the end. The performance of Phil Collins and his band was spectacular. What a show! What a show! I loved everything about the video they watched, everything about the guests' comments and feedback, and everything about the editing (except for the closed caption covering up the video on the lower left). Thank you so much for putting this together.
Absolutely wonderful watching such intelligent and thoughtful people of a culture different from the artist’s. I’m very much enjoying their thoughts about music that I grew up with and love.
Can genuinely say I love these men. Great people. Great hearts and minds. Always looking forward to these videos. The clothes are very stylish too. Always love it ❤Mr Abdul Aziz Rind Baloch always sound so wise. I love his voice, beard, heavy eyebrows and his eyes. Very lively, sparkly eyes.
The commentary / analysis / reactions from the Trybals is truly interesting - if not Priceless. They know so much about music and also have some idea of what it takes to pull off a intense live preformance. At the same time ,they speak from the heart and tend to show their emotions without much hesitation. They were clearly impressed with the preformance of Phil Collins but probably unaware of his time with Genesis.I would love to get their reaction to Genesis - Afterglow or Home by the Sea....Your Podcast are well produced and edited! May God bless you each and every one 🙏 JT / USA
This is one of the top 5 performances that I have seen by any artist/band live. It's amazing and how great it would have been to be in the crowd. I am glad they appreciate Phil!
I am guessing these are your friend, father, and grandfather (Chacha) and this is such a pleasure to watch their honest reactions. I enjoy all of their reactions and look forward to seeing more. Keep it up! You have kind and wise people in your world.
Sr.Abduls words are poetry too. Thank you for allowing me to listen to him and to enjoy all of your guests and the music. No joy no pain, just pure poetry... So, when we can read faces we are wizards? Well...good to know 😉 Thank you beautiful people!❤
I am so impressed with their analysis of this masterpiece of a song, especially the elder whose impressions after listening to it were spot on, they all were great really!
Brilliant, 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼, doesn't matter about your colour, age, religion, everybody appreciates a good song/tune when they hear it, Phil Collins was a legendary drummer and vocalist,
We are not so different, yet I can learn so much from listening to someone with a slightly different perspective. My species will only survive by learning to respect and love each other. Sir, this is the way.
Music is for sure the universal language and can bring us all together. I am not a religious person, but watching this with these gentlemen give me hope for peace for all of us. Music rules!
Very wise men who can feel the lyrics and see what he sings in his face. Amazing. Loved this and the comments made by these very wonderful men. New subscriber here my friend. Many blessings Amanda 🙏🕊️🙏
I absolutely love how open minded these tribal people are to music they never heard before!!!!!!
Yes, they are very smart. 🙂
Yes they always see the meaning. Hi Paul didn't expect to run into you here . Be well amigo .
@@txrick4879 same!

I’m convinced that Abdul is one of the most kind and wise people I’ve ever seen in my life. I wish I could meet him.
This song transends generations and cultures.
Abdul is the man!!
one of the wonderful things about music is its ability to transcend languages
Abdul has great perception and insight when he says, " I think he must have had a lot of worries in life. Illness comes either when you worry or think too much." "...he undoubtedly had more inner wounds than outer ones." God bless you all at Trybals.🙏

It's crazy how he knew he was a drummer. Like Wow. When do I get to be that wise?
If every human on this planet would be that open minded like you Sir's..the world would be a very peaceful place
G'day from Australia 🇦🇺 I love how these tribal men understand exactly what the song is about without understanding English 😊 It just shows that music is a universal language ❤
Abdul is always such a wise and thoughtful at his analyses. I really like his focus at the various aspects on his reactions.
His eyes are piercing and penetrating….
I’ve grown very fond of these gentlemen and admire their insight into humanity.
Thank you.
Abdul has a musical soul….hears and sees the notes. I so appreciate your videos! Thank you all ❤️🙏🏼
Abdul is so incredibly wise. I always love listening to what he has to say. Thank you SO MUCH for the English subtitles so that we can understand what they are saying! Sending love from South Africa!
Yes. Phil Collins is a wizard. He couldn't write a bad song to save his life.
They all were bad. I thank the radio gods his star fell. Finally.
@@Robert-n4f2z At least he still has a rent place to live
One of my favourite songs ever… still gives me goosebumps ❤❤❤❤
The dear old man Abdul was concentrating so hard, wanting to absorb every note and word.
God bless them all.
I was thinking the same thing, he seemed mesmerized.

Major chill bumps EVERY time, many times
You’d get more chills than u could imagine if you knew the true meaning of the lyrics…

Such intelligent, clear analysis. Better than reams and reams of rock journalist outputs.
This was an excellent choice of a song. It's unique, even in the context of the time it was released. These gentlemen had good insights on what they observed while listening. Good stuff.
Abdul just amazes me. His perception of what is going on is usually right on. 😊
We all need an Abdul in our life.

Phil's drumming with Peter Gabriel singing in Genesis is the finest music I've ever heard.

This is such a great introduction to all things Genesis and Phil Collins. You can't go wrong with the music!!

When I watch these familiar videos "in the company" of the tribal people, I hear the music through new ears. Goosebumps.
I love this channel so much. These gentlemen are so sweet and thoughtful and very humble. I adore them❤
These three men are amazing and so insightful. They put into words exactly what they feel about performances. Wonderful commentary,

The reaction from these awesome men when the beat dropped gives me life!😊
😆…When they said that the bass player looks just like Abdul!🤣
Leland Sklar is the bassist, a very famous performer. I'm sure both Abdul and Leland would be happy to share the comparison !!
I love how they sat and listened with open minds without prejudice
We can see a classic scene with this song, in the first episode of TV show "Miami Vice" (in 1984)
It struck me when the first guy said he would listen to this type of songs while travelling… it made me think of that scene.
Absolutely wonderful watching such intelligent and thoughtful people of a culture different from the artist’s. I’m very much enjoying their thoughts about music that I grew up with and love.
Nothing but love for you men. Keep the videos coming
Great video, thanks! I grew up listening to Genesis/Phil Collins :)

great reaction again. love these guys! cheers. enjoyed that a lot. it is such an iconic moment with the drums.
Best reaction to "In The Air Tonight" i have ever seen! 👌👌👌
Amazed at how perceptive they are, they could feel his pain, they new something was troubling Phil and he had to sing to get it out.

Your insights into this performance is amazing. Great reaction. Thank you.
This is one of the top 5 performances that I have seen by any artist/band live. It's amazing and how great it would have been to be in the crowd. I am glad they appreciate Phil!
Music, a universal language. The ordered rhythm comforts the mind, prompting it to allow the heart to lead the way, then the divine magic delights it.
Always brings me too tears watching this ❤.thankyou for allowing these gentlemen to experience this magical outstanding performance 🫶
I would love to meet these gentlemen and thank them for their wisdom and insight

At the beginning of the music video Abdul was like, "that guy's beard is almost as glorious as my beard!"
We all need an Abdul in our life.
They've given me a whole new appreciation of this song, and I already loved it.
Abdul is very wise to know so much just by reading Phil’s face/eyes and understanding the meaning in the music. I admire that 😀
Heck yes! Phil Collins is a poet and a magician. 100%
I enjoy watching and listening to these men always. I cant resist their videos! They pull me right in!

What a brilliant channel this is - such thoughtful, genuine responses. I have been watching your material all evening, absolutely wonderful.
I love that they use words like “awesome” and “amazing”, but the best line is “I want to listen to it forever” ❤
