I knew UG for many years and spent time with him and published a book of his conversations. Yet, every time I listen to him talking in conversations like this, it is as if for the first time hearing him. And I say "thank you UG."
ug never gets old. I have been listening to his excerpts for a little over a decade. Still new and intersting.

You are all the questions, doubts, beliefs, hopes, regrets. You are time. Psychological time. Becoming something more. Adding, subtracting. When that is let go or it stops by chance then you see. I had a temporary experience of kensho without any practice or background and that is what you see. The weight of being you is lifted. Ever since that I admittedly still feel bound to my persona but the hold is not so great.
And what is mind
A rhetorical question I guess :

UG brings to our attention in other videos the possibility of mind not being there. The possibility of us just assuming it is there because that's what we've been taught and what the people from past generations were taught.

UG doesn’t live the way he talks. He gets angry, he laughs, he enjoys food, he labels everything and calls people by their names, he loves, he hates, he thinks and he has like and dislikes.
What he is saying may be %100 truth, but at the end of the day, it’s useless bull$hit NOBODY, not even a sage, lives by. Nobody is going to guide you to freedom through words, you’re on your own to discover it.
Sages can help get closer by making a person open to the possibilitie

He often said that he is not in conflict with the world . . . The world is what it is ... that is all to it ... he confirms to certain elementary manners otherwise he would end up in loony bins singing merry melodies ( his words ) ...
Unlike J.Krishnamurti , who still had and maintained his world teacher persona , UG did not care for respect or maintaining decorum ... he had no personal relationship with anyone , not even his own wife and children ... he ended all of it ... he lived a vagabond life style and depended on others for living ...
Ug never said that he was trying to change your mindset. He said "I am saying what it is "
If you are trying to work intelligently in this world you need knowledge. And knowledge is thought. Is there any thought there is also love, anger, like, dislike. (And here ug needs intelligence to express his thought because other people operate in such a way). If you don't oparate in that way then there is no need to ug to bark like a dog 😂
