If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Kouras. I started cutting my own hair when I was 13, back in 2008. This was during the Windows 99 era-dial-up internet, when RUclips was a dating site, and the global economy got slapped. Hard. Because of it, my mom lost her job for nearly three years, and during that time, my dad had to support her, me, and my two brothers all on his own.
I started cutting my hair as a way to help my family save money because I was tired of hearing my parents argue about finances and wanted to do something to make things easier for them. After getting a few bad haircuts at Supercuts, I knew this was the best way I could help.
With that being said, this channel does not do my past any justice. I wish I could have recorded my first handful of self-haircuts so you could see just how garbage they were. I got made fun of a lot because of it in middle school-even by some of the moms from the kids on my soccer team! Rightfully so... They were pretty bad.
Now, over 15 years later, I share content that teaches millions of people every month in more than 165 countries how to save time and money by mastering self-haircuts from the comfort of your own home. It’s not a hard skill to learn, but like anything in life, if you make it a priority and stay committed, you can succeed without letting the tough times make you quit.
I had every reason to quit when I got started. No money. No mentor. No RUclips. No clippers, only a $20 Remington beard trimmer. I was literally just a little kid who cared way more about my family's well-being than any bit of harsh criticism I could get as a result. Times have changed since 2008 and you now have an opportunity of a lifetime with my channel.
Please know, I’m here to help you on your self-haircut journey in any way I can. Self-haircuts are fun, an awesome skill to have, and the best way to avoid ever paying for a barber again!
The Free Self-Haircuts For Life Club is calling your name! What are you waiting for? Get started today!

I’m a patient with severe inherited chronic seborrheic dermatitis, and I was keeping sugar and gluten free diet for 6 months before my scalp got better. I also have a daughter and I noticed that she’s prone to same condition, after she eats bread her scalp gets flaky…. So I’m on my way to get back to my sugar and gluten free diet, because seborrheic dermatitis is caused by an overgrowth of Malassezia yeast, and lack of ability to fight this yeast in our immune system. So basically that means you can’t eat anything triggering fungal and yeast growth.
And yes, I’m a sugarholic, I was sugar free for more than one year, I lost 25 kilo, I was training every day even during pregnancy, If I can do it, you can too!

I still have dandruff though but less now and my scalp starts to become clearer and not look scaly anymore. I've been suffering from seboric dermatitis for 10 years. When I notice so much dandruff on my scalp since I used to use virgin coconut oil, my flakes wouldn’t go away so I stop using it. I know I said I did use coconut oil shampoo since that is one of my first shampoos to use for my dandruff, but this is like a trial and error stage. I stopped using selsun blue since my hair is thinning, my dermatologist keeps recommending to use shampoos that can dry so much of my hair and giving me essential oils that can make my scalp oily and gave me pimples on my face.
I wasnt able to fully understand my skin type because I always use shampoo and follow someone else’s routine without thinking. My cousins and my sister have oily type hair and its a possibility I have oily skin, and my sister recommends me to use tea tree oil shampoo. Im currently using Avalon thickening shampoo every other day since I dont want my scalp to be greasy. Its a promising shampoo and no problems with dry or greasy scalp. Its still too early for results since I just started adjusting my routine, praying for better results

Tried cutting carbs for 7 days and it literally worked like a charm. No more dermatitis. I done some research on it and found out that the SD was being caused by sebum production which makes sense. Every time you eat carbs for every meal, you elevate your insulin which in turn produces androgens in your body. That causes your pours on your scalp and face to produce sebum which the yeast feeds on and it causes inflammation and high skin turnover. Hence why the flaming skin. Highly recommend people try no carb for a week to see how it goes and replace simple carbs with veg.

      @ronakpatel6210 11 месяцев назад

My entire computer will be covered in dandruff nearly every time I sat down. It was completely miserable. In my experience, the ketoconazole 2% prescription strength shampoo really helped control the condition. It didn't make it totally go away, but it controlled it so long as I used it every other time I showered. The dermatologist also prescribed me clobetasol foam, and that helps a lot if my scalp starts to flare up really bad.

please don’t ignore this and please get back to me once you try it!!! I was diagnosed like a year or 2 ago with seboric dermatitis. They tryna tell me it’s “chronic” 😑. I got prescribed ketoconazole that red shampoo they give you. That shampoo is crap. I used it on and off and my dandruff/red itchiness would go away but then come back once I stopped using it. I got tired of it like 2 weeks ago I felt like I was going insane. I told my mother it was driving me crazy and she had mentioned a long time ago to put vinegar mixed with water in my scalp, then massage it and it will go away. I finally decided to listen to her😂 and it went away. I haven’t used the stupid red shampoo in like 2 weeks and I have literally no dandruff and itchiness/dryness. I had a coworker try it they also have itchiness and dandruff and it worked as well! I only wash my hair with water now in the shower and sometimes I’ll put shampoo or conditioner so I can smell good only on the hair not the scalp! Please try it. Vinegar mixed with water, massage your whole scalp with it and leave it on for 30 minutes at least. The longer the better I leave it on for 2 hours ish. Good luck lmk.

Kinda the same with me... I would say anxiety and an "overflow of thoughts" are kinda of 30% of the cause for me, the other 70% is related to sleeping well or bad...
When i start sleeping too late at night for many days, my dermatites get much worse... If i sleep early (around 22:00) every day, then after few days it gets 70% better...
The other 30% are more related to how my feelings are and also anxiety, when I can control that and sleep well every day the dermatites completely disappears and my skin gets so good.
I was able to do it for three months straight few years ago, three months completely free of it!
Nowadays, it barely bothers me anymore, except when I mess up with my sleep time for many days.

Yeast is used in baked goods bc it produces CO2 that makes dough fluffy and soft. Also what's up with rice and potatoes, afaik those don't contain any yeast, but they do contain carbs? I think you're onto something but it's not food yeast, it's carbs, bc all baked goods are rich in carbs so that must be the thing that was causing your seb derm. I'm gonna try and reduce carbs from my diet and share the results (if I remember lol).

Hey there, mates. Fellow Scalp seborrheic dermatitis sufferer here.
This is for people like me.
I had this dandruff thing maybe 3 years ago from now. Severe dandruff, got bald and can see patches of fungus there. Doc at first recommended (Clobetasol Propionate 0.025% lotion) and (salicylic acid 2% and ketoconazole 2% shampoo). Worked well, but the solution wasn't a long term solution. There's nothing bad with using the shampoo long term. Dandruff was still recurssing at this point.
Tried (ketoconazole 2%) only shampoo, didn't work. Itchy, redness and danruff on scalp. Moderate hairfall.
Tried (ketoconazole 2% and zinc pyrithione 1% shampoo) only. All dandruff wen't away just like that. Extremely effective for me, but at the cost of heavy hairfall. Was depressed at this point.
Then tried a "piroctone olamine" only shampoo for a few days. Recurring dandruff but very slight ithciness and normal hairfall. Didn't work that well. Doc said no but still was using that lotion I mentioned in the first treatment(like maybe once every 10 days and danruff was under very good control).
Finally, currently using (Ciclopirox olamine 1% & zinc pyrithione 1% shampoo). Works like charm. Had to use it every alternate day initially, but now once twice a week works fine.
Hope this helps to some of you out there!
    Thanks, Vicky.

Low Carb/Keto started to help but I am now 90 days into full carnivore and everything is starting to heal slowly but surely. Some carnivore doctors I follow say it can take 6-12 months to heal your gut fully if really bad so I am planning on doing this for a full year before I add any carbs back in. Grains and sugar are gone for good though. I just want to say that it is also so good to be able to connect with so many other people via the comments below and know that I am not alone, for years I thought I was some sort of freak and got to the stage of not wanting to leave the house. Take care everyone below and thanks for sharing your experiences.

Continue doing and I can confirm it takes some time, I am alergic to gluten, had SD since childhood (34 now) and after lowering carbs and completely removing gluten I can confirm it works. But it takes time to get 100%, you will have 80% of the results in the first month but 100% took almost an year. Good luck on your journey, this brings many benefits besides curing SD.

Scalp psoriasis/dandruff can be cured and for free, though it takes years. The trick is deeply massaging the scalp. You gotta really press down and rub in circles. It could be either blood under the skin that heals it or a fluffing up of the thin skin which allows it to thicken and get healthier. Took me years.. I had HORRIBLE scalp psoriasis and I am around 95% to 98% clear after about 8 years or so. I also used this to cure a longtime infected bellybutton and it also provided huge improvement to my IBS, massaging the infected belly button and intestines respectively. Good luck.

The basics to treat Sebhorric dermatitis is maintaing moisture in scalp.
I did following things to control my Dryness --
    1-i have short hair
2-I use Johnson's baby shampoo because it is extremely mild
3- i apply good amount of oil after wash
(Oil can be irritating if you live in hot climate such as I live in India but
    It's cheap
As alternative you can use natural moisturizing cream or leave in conditioner but ensure that they have very mild ingredients in it)
4- most important manage your diet
I disagree with him saying don't eat too carbs i eat oats in milk for breakfast and it is very soothing for my body
    I don't feel any dryness.
Yes wheat, breads, potatoes are not the best option ,also control sugar intake because it spikes insulin that cause more acne especially if you are in teen or twenties.
Don't worry much it will go with time
Do go to gym ,get the body heat out
    Be Happy.
