If you aren’t seeing more options for color depth and video modes try switching to HDMI instead of auto detect and once you do that go back to resolution and set to 1080p or 1440p (if your tv supports it) and 60Hz or 120Hz (if supported). Go back to color depth or video modes and you should see more options pop up.
Snyder Isida it’s a TV/Monitor thing. Too many variations and variables in people’s setup. That’s why they have these options to ensure that the majority of people can get the best image quality with whatever display they have. How pissed would you be if the console defaulted to 4K HDR from the box and therefore failed to display a picture when hooked up with a much more common 1080p screen?
Bad advice for the Video fidelity options, 8-bit is for sdr TVs (which you have), 10-bit is hdr TVs. I wouldn't go higher than 10-bits on an hdr tv unless you are sure your TV supports it otherwise the luminosity may display incorrectly and may not light up areas on screen that are ment to lit. As for color space it should be left at standard unless you're using a monitor, changing this setting to PC-RGB for the sake of a darker image is just crushing blacks and is counter intuitive as it effects contrast plus you are also unintentionally making playing games harder for yourself as people/things and items that should be just visible will be impossible to see as they'll be washed out in a sea of black, if you're unhappy with how dark or not a game is then change the brightness in game. Remember that if a dark area looks grey then it is probably ment to look that way.
Too be honest if a game tells you to adjust brightness and your screen if already professional calibrated with the proper calibration as the movies intended and as normal content is filmed at
@@doug5051 I’m pretty sure 24 bit is for normal displays. 30 for hdr screens and 36 bit for Dolby vision supported displays Don’t set it higher than your TV supports else the image might look weird.
Do this and mess up YOUR image! If u want good image with more hz i suggest 1080p at 120 hz if your tv can support it. If you want 4k image you can run it at 60 hz no more most tv's cant support both 4k and 120 hz. Use game mode for less lag input or vivid for a more sharp image. I have an 55" lg and i run 4k at 60 hz for video streaming i also use vivid mode for a more sharp image as my tv supports it. You can change setting at will for gaming and watching movies if you use your tv for both.
@@Obey.The.Walrus 8bit/24 bits per pixel is for normal sdr TVs I’m sure. 10 bit/30bits per pixel is for hdr TVs and 12bit/36 bits per pixel is for Dolby vision tvs If you have a older tv that isn’t Dolby certified or hdr I would use 24 bit or else the colours would probably look bad. Also enable hdr if your tv supports it I promise it will be good
Do I increase input lag or decrease FPS rate if I tune some settings up and down like brightness, sharpness and color even tough I have my monitor on game mode? Or should I leave the game mode settings as they are?
Great video! However, the "Check off as much as possible" may not be the best advice. I use Plex, when using it, it will automatically downgrade my videos to 60, 50, or even 24Hz. I found by unchecking "Allow 50" it forced my games and apps to run native 240 on my OLED. Just be weary when making codec choices, understand what your tv can do and what the xbox is expecting to do. This is a media center.
Regardless of your screen, select the highest resolution. The higher resolution on a lower resolution screen actually makes games look sharper and more detailed. I play mine on my old 720p TV and by bumping it to 1080 it looks sharper and distant objects have more detail
Thanks for this. Didn't even think about some of these things. I got the Xbox one X, and as soon as I had HDR and 4k on, everything went warm and weird looking. This should definitely fix that.
Make sure your TV is set up to use HDR correctly then make changes to the Xbox One X. I had this issue with my Samsung then I find it in the settings on the TV that needed to be enabled.
Gamers enjoying games at the wrong colour warm is where it should be lol I don’t like my snow being blue lol its meant to be white not blue and your eyes adjust to the warm tone after a while white looks white because it’s eye shock
If you have a 4k cable and you change your setting to HDMI then you may be able to change your resolution to 2k. I did that on my tv that's about ten years old. I also followed all of your steps in this video and now my 1440p looks even better.
If you have 4K UHD TV you need to set that up on the TV setting for resolution to unlock FULL UHD on the input channel. (VIZIO TV) Then set up resolution setting on xbox to 2160p and allow 4K and HDR10. Your welcome.

john espinal under Display Overrides, if you select HDMI instead of auto, it will allow you to get up to 36 I believe, but from what i know you must be using an HDMI 2.0 cable
Don't do the color space unless your TV or monitor supports it. All blacks will be washed out and you can't see certain things (there's other videos on that). If it says that your TV or monitor doesn't support it, it's because it doesn't support it. If your TV has HDR (High Dynamic Range), then you should be fine with PC RGB full color range.

If your not happy with the picture start off with the basic settings like contrast, brightness, maybe color and sharpness and see if that helps your picture (those setting will not effect your game lag). If that doesn’t work u can turn on one of the many settings like active contrast or backlighting without causing too much lag. Try fine tuning your tv before going crazy on the Xbox settings which can cause horrible lag.
That has nothing do with games.. that's for watching videos like RUclips and Netflix. I think i read that somewhere while trying to understand everything about the image settings.

Game mode DECREASES picture quality but reduces latency/input lag
Ajc is rite. Game mode gives you less lag and stutter but the picture isn’t as nice. I only play on game mode if I’m playing online, if your playing campaign or story mode go for picture quality. Game mode basically turns off all of the extra bs like active contrast, backlighting, motion blur options etc. i keep it on game mode but if the picture is really bad I bump the contrast up to 65-70 or will turn the active contrast to low to make your darks darker and brights a little brighter. If your not happy with the picture start off with the basic settings like contrast, brightness, maybe color and sharpness and see if that helps your picture (those setting will not effect your game lag). If that doesn’t work u can turn on one of the many settings like active contrast or backlighting without causing too much lag. Try fine tuning your tv before going crazy on the Xbox settings which can cause horrible lag.
if i try to use allow 50hz i'm getting more stuttering during gameplay,
Same
@LagsterPrism i know i turned it off becouse i'm lifing in european i tried it with 50hz allowed on and it fucked up your gameplay for real
LagsterPrism no it don’t it’s just for media
That has nothing do with games.. that's for watching videos like RUclips and Netflix. I think i read that somewhere while trying to understand everything about the image settings.
Do I have to have it on auto detect or can I have it on hdmi
My Xbox isn't working after I did this, could this be the reason. Or something else. Plz help.!!!
Hey it’s saying I could go to 1440p then when I try to put it it says resolution not supported???
Every time I hit 50hz my tv turns off then turns back on and it doesn’t check mark
